No, we go outside and our Mechs step on the enemies.

Through of it a couple rounds ago but someone wants to be neck deep in enemies.

And for those of us not paying much attention, namely my self, is that person the same one that had their mech blown up? I'm just wondering if there's a trend and I should be looking into what buff spells I've got on Arcane Pilot's crappy list.

Yes. Yes it is.  :lmao

And I just feel like these robots wouldn't follow us outside the tower.

Min/Max 3.x / Re: Incarnates are hard
« on: October 27, 2013, 05:56:17 AM »
I dunno but I usually see Incarnates as the utility class in that book and Totemists as the frontline heavy hitters of Incarnum. Haven't much looked at Soulborn so can't say on that one. They have better damage scaling soulmelds at least, I believe, on top of ones granting more attacks with extra appendages or whatnot. With Incarnate though....you could always pump your DR and acquire decent healing abilities and then just walk around and provoke all the AoOs with that mantle of flame soulmeld or w/e it's called that does d6/invested essentia of fire damage to stuff that hits you. Although, while it's nice and easy damage, the one time I did exactly that build I did get eaten by a bunch of oozes I tried to run circles around one too many times  :rolleyes

Not quite paying attention to the music with all the fire and explosions of sound still going off all around her, Katherine still pauses in her activity now seeming not quite sure what to with the sudden almost calm that hit the battlefield. But then that machine right infront of her was still acting hostile and she caught up with her thoughts to try to deal with it as best she currently could.

Kath was blocking line of effect to most of those behind her. Are they still supposed to be subjected to that charm thing?
Also, is that charm effect another Ex ability?

On top of this query, I should also be adjacent & infront of Baha on the board as that's what I've been trying to keep doing.
(Yeah cause looking back Baha flew over AD17 so I moved back to AC17)

Secondly, does using a Charm count as an attack in regards to the Alert I have active?

Yeah, probably Sakuya next, but I think one for Iku could be pretty cool later. Just all the lightning spam ;D
Tenshi probably could have a decent discipline with a bunch of earth related magicky stuff. If you're a bit loose on the way her powers work anyways. If you want to keep it tied around the sword of hisou doing most of the work, it could just have an entry feat that grants a weapon aligned with the school, much like Ancient Temple has.

Well, if you're willing to run it, I'd be willing to do more than just skim thru the book and see about learning this system now. It does look fun, in a way.
And I've kinda been wanting to try it out since I saw it posted here awhile back too.

There are other uses for standard actions than strikes. Total defense, a normal attack (including trip/disarm/etc).
Even if nothing seems good, there is always Aid Another.

Mmm.....yeah...I guess I always keep thinking Full/Total Defense is a fullround action...

Gaming Advice / Re: spells for item creation
« on: October 20, 2013, 11:38:20 AM »
You just need the spell cast once during the process.
That's why you can use scrolls of spells you don't know or can't normally cast to craft with instead.

If I remember correctly.
At least, it's how it works in my group. But I'm pretty sure that's how it actually can work.

General D&D Discussion / Re: "Boss" template?
« on: October 20, 2013, 10:18:40 AM »
Sometimes, the save doesn't negate the effect or even matter...

I was thinking like...

- Immune to death effects, charms, compulsions, stun, daze, paralysis, petrification, unwanted polymorphing,
- Can't be made more fearful than Shaken
- Abilities cannot be drained, damaged, and/or penalized below 1

A good way, in my opinion, to deal with fear effects autowinning but also not making them useless should they be utilized excessively could be to simply make multiple grades of Shaken, each one adding a stacking -2.

@ketaro: Do you still have a standard action?

Well, yeah. I just didn't use it for anything cause like just about any strike I could use does damage based on my normal attack which right now is not only fairly little damage, especially under the safe assumption of the enemies having any DR, but also a lot less to hit than what I usually can. I mean, I just didn't feel like it'd help, and I'm trying to hide.

You might have to even crop some pictures to get it just right. :p
Edit: Oh yeah, you could just resize wide pictures in the post box, couldn't you...
Seeing it in Doll Judgement too, it definitely looks cooler.

40D6 worth of it, and with a 33% chance of surviving
Large pool of dice = bell curve. Your chance of survival was a lot less than 33%.

http://anydice.com/program/2a6c

As you can see, there's a 0.01% chance of the damage being 99 or less... and that would still kill you.

A chance is a chance and D&D likes to take chances  :P
Still, it's still just nice to see the numbers in a game that relies entirely on chance to resolve almost every situation.

Although a bit rough looking, having the pictures be besides the maneuver they're representing is pretty dang awesome. Makes this thread look way cooler than any of os' ;D

Gaming Advice / Re: Item Mimicking Improved Natural Attack
« on: October 20, 2013, 04:08:42 AM »
Fanged Ring grants Improved Unarmed Strike and Improved Natural Attack (Unarmed Strike). So it only provides it specifically for your unarmed strikes.
Book is Dragon Magic.
All I know of.

I guess Artificer is just too easy :D

Sorcerer/Wizard->Effigy Master + Craft Construct? :p
The Effigy Master stuff basically would give you to ability to make a giant robot version of any type of creature except Oozes, Undead, & Plants and I think Constructs too. Craft Construct just filling in the Construct part then.
Probably even some Rogue dip for on site tinkering stuff via disable device & trapfinding & UMD for nonarcane stuff.

There's that Battlesmith PrC, but I think that's dwarves only, if you want a little 'umph' to your character and not just be a crafter hanging in the back.

Warlock would also be a decent one, but not till that level 12 class feature, that can craft anything you want so long as you got the crafting feat and still handle well in a fight or utilize his easy escapes for some "I'LL GET YOU NEXT TIME SONIIIIC!!"

Artificer->Effigy Master?

Or just straight Artificer and all the crafting feats especially Construct?

Oh, and human, yeah?

The opening the Poleziax thought it had registered wasn't as much of one after all as Katherine extended one of her back-up blades at the last moment and actually swatted at the electric bolt sent her way, it discharging through her Nanoarmor with far less of an effect than expected. Following Baha's retreat, Katherine attempted to withdraw with her and continue filling up the corridor beyond.
