"Thanks! Now you owe me a favor." Kitty leads the rest of the group somewhere they're less likely to be physically run into. They aren't going to be checking inside the building when their target just jumped out. "For starters, what's going on here?"

Alexei yawns, though his eyes dart around alertly. "Nothing much. I won some money... a lot of money... and the Skavis leeches objected. You'd think they would have learned by now..."

"Well, that's a little problem." Kitty purses her lips. "Because we were going to try and find out why they're trying to reenact Auschwitz in the subway tunnels. And now they've all got bumblebees up their butts. Maybe the boss is still sitting around..."

"What do we do now? Fly up and smash in from the window?" Phil looks at the escalating mess with a sigh, "It's not like they're going to get any less pissed while we do this"

Alexei hesitates. "I... didn't cause that, did I? I mean, what's the timing like?"

"Unlikely. It looks like a pretty long-term plan. And gas bystanders because a husky russky broke the bank a little? I might've drained them harder before." Kitty gives Phil the 'imminent trouble' grin. "Sounds good! You'll learn yet. You're the only one who can fly, though. Do the honors!"

Phil seems to look confused for a moment.

Then a look of horror dawns, "No, you can't be serious. How would you even know which window to shoot for?!"

Kitty blinks. "Hm? You look inside first. Duh. Or we can just find the room from the inside. Either way, make it quick, they're not going to be distracted forever. Poldi, you can fry phones and the like so they won't get called back in too soon."

"It's not entirely that simple. Even though I could hex something simply by virtue of being a mortal practitioner and walking near it, I can't easily just target things like cell phones, especially with precision. If I try to make their phone go dark, I'm pretty sure everyone's phones will, and quite a few more pieces of technology to boot. Any computers in the area would definitely be toast, if that's relevant, and I might also accidentally blow out the lights if I'm forcing it too hard."

Phil considers making another remark, then shuts up on the basis that he's managed to dig himself deeper every single time. He sighs and unfurls his wings, "Veil me so I don't get shot to pieces on the way up."

"Hmm... you know... I could still try the hex, but I can also target their guns if need be. Just a thought."

Alexei puts a friendly hand on Phil's shoulder, eyes gazing off into the near distance. "A moment, спасибо."

Guns pointing out the window, bullets flying from below, glass smashing -- but no blood. No bodies on the pavement.

He looks back at Phil, gaze clearing. "It is... very unlikely that any harm will come to you before you enter the building. I wouldn't worry about it."

"Okay, okay. Hold still." Kitty stands on her tiptoes and puts one hand on Phil's shoulder. Then, she shoves him out of her veil and into the open, surrounded by another, smaller veil.

Phil, muttering under his breath to himself, flits upwards, scanning the windows for a suitably unoccupied area within range of the wind catapult. At this point it could hardly get worse. Maybe. Hopefully.

After a few seconds of searching, Phil finds a largish window several stories up with no one visible on the other side. He should be able to propel himself through with little enough difficulty.

Phil hovers in close and takes out a pocket knife, cutting the window panel free of the silicone sealing as best as he could manage, hoping for a quiet resolution.  MAYBE he could pry this thing out without having to shatter them noisily with magic.

A tense moment passes while one of the panes stubbornly sticks in place, but Phil manages to pry them out without raining glass shards on his waiting friends. The lushly-carpeted hallway beyond the windowsill is deserted, with ornate double doors at both ends.

Phil heaves a sigh of relief at the successful breaking and entering(though he was much more a fan of breaking and EXITING). He focuses his attention on the others, and charts a trajectory through the now missing window pane, hoping he didn't miss as he whispered the incantation.

Kitty, Leo, and Alexei feel their stomachs drop as gale-force winds fling them up in a neat arc through the empty window frame. Phil's calculations are accurate, though, and none of them so much as scratches the sides of the window, although the landing is a bit rough. The carpet in the hallway muffles the sounds of their footsteps, as well as the noises of the manhunt going on a few stories down.
