I can get you to S8 or Q6 with a single move action at 12 squares movement. Since I think you are trying to use the wall as cover, I put you at S8. You cannot see over the wall but they can't see you to shoot you either.
You don't necessarily need a ride check each round for combat with these mounts since they have been trained for battle by Vazus. If you want to do some special use of Ride, then you need to roll. I can use the roll as an "in case", to stay in the saddle if you get shot this round.
The imperial technician continues to do two tasks at once. He pours more power toward the shield around the terminal and continues to establish a comm channel.
