SUBJECT: ABADDONAgent Carver, code named Abaddon is regarded as an unstable asset. Originally joining the Army as a translator he saw multiple tours of duty throughout the Middle East, and saw surprisingly little combat. This changed during his tour of Afghanistan, when his group was assigned to guard a road thought to be used by militants as a supply line. They were to hide in an abandoned stone shrine and arrest passers by for interrogation, or kill them if it became necessary. Agent Carver alleges several of his bored team mates desecrated the shrine, which he judged to be there to placate the Djinn or some other pre-Christian entity.
It's at this point Agent Carvers story develops problems as it descends into paranoid raving about the shrine his platoon destroyed containing some sort of shapeshifting, malevolent being that assumed human form as a lure to prey on our species. He often refers to it as a Djinn. While such an entity is entirely possible given the other creatures listed in our records, Agent Carver has the problem that this particular one was (according to his claims) masquerading as his commanding officer at the time he rather publicly gunned him down and set fire to the corpse once the two of them reached civilization. He had thought the creature dead, but something his CO said or did gave him the idea that he was not as he seemed. Agent Carvers memories of this incident are somewhat hazy, and it has been judged best for his mental health that he not be forcibly reminded or required to relive them.
He subsequently escaped capture, and was recruited by us while penniless and dying in the streets of Northern Pakistan. Apparently other creatures had surfaced, possibly attracted to the violence and bloodshed within the Middle East, and he was making a habit of attempting to kill them before his luck ran out. The locals were only too happy for us to remove him. They were not as happy with the cleanup operations that had to be conducted in the wake of subsequent discoveries.
Several years of psychotropic medication and therapy combined with the listening ear of people who actually believe him have rebuilt Agent Carvers psyche. He is, unfortunately, still prone to paranoia, and has little if any qualms about excessive use of force or even killing. He is a blunt hammer where a scalpel would best be used, but he has potential for success if guided by the right hand. Minor cosmetic surgery and a new identity keep him from likely discovery by the US military, who still consider him a dangerous, psychologically unstable murderer. Missions requiring finesse and subterfuge that do not also require combat are something he should only be a part of peripherally as a bodyguard or posing as security for our field agents. His preferred use will be the termination or containment of non-human entities or other exotic problems.
