I'm cool with letting you detect it.  You can't actually see it or affect it in any way, but you can figure out it is there.

Culturally speaking, you would realize that Risada has a fylgja.

Mechanically, there are a few other ways one can have a fylgja, hamingja, or vǫrðr.  Maybe a Telthor or Spirit Animal (FrB) bound to a person instead of a location.  The Spirit Shaman's spirit companion.  Etc.

Einar won't get introduced until I get off work, I've got a lot of meetings scheduled for today and won't be able to dedicate the time to real posting.

Those are some nice HP rolls!

I bought a Ring of Sustenance and a Healing Belt, Einar is now good to go.

How long have we been on the road, and have we started/ended in Rasheman?

If you were hired on in Rapola as a caravan guard, you've been on the road just over two weeks (It takes 20 or 21 days on horses to travel between Rapola and Eyrrinberg).

Though traveling from Rapola to Eyrrinberg or Niðarós wouldn't get you back to Rashemen, either one is on the way back to Rashemen from Rapola.  For a real world example, it would be like traveling from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, to St. Petersburg, Russia, when your eventual goal is to cross the Baltic and get back to Sweden. (Though in mirror image, as you are heading east, not west).

You could easily have gotten to the area from somewhere to the south (there is a lot of "Norseness" south of where you are, including Birka and Uppsala), and were just planning on heading back east toward the coast to catch a boat across the Ashane Sea to Rashemen.

Then she tries to change the subject "Do you know any of the others here?" She glances around at the others traveling with the caravan, and her eyes linger for a bit on Thorgrim and Einar.

Do I know any of you guys? Do any of you want to know me?  :flutter

I'm sure over the course of our time together everyone has gotten to know my character. Hymir is rather loud and boisterous, and quite social. So yes I would like to know you already  :D

I think Skulda will have tracked down Einar and Thorgrim (probably using the divination abilities of the Astaroth vestige I asked about, if that's allowed, KSB), and then tagged along with the caravan so she could try to get to know them (and find out what happened to Hergierr). I didn't realize we'd been traveling together for 2 weeks already, though... I'm sure we've all probably at least spoken a bit, if that's the case.

Despite being very charismatic, Skulda tries to actively avoid the limelight too much, due to fear of being recognized/ostracized due to her non-human heritage (and reputation to those from near the forest she lived in).

Lets keep it to non-Dragon mag stuff. Serpentstongue and cold iron are fine.

I'll give your character sheet a look in a minute.

Divination once every 5 rounds? (If I'm remembering how the abilities work w/o use limits listed.). That seems quite powerful.  Or is it less often than that?

You needn't all have been traveling together for two weeks.  Perhaps some of you hired on in Rapola and have been together that long. Maybe some of you are from the area just west of Eyrinberg (or just happened to be in the area for another purpose) and only got on the road today, and figured there is safety in numbers, so are pacing yourself w/ the wagons. Maybe you were tracking down your son's former companions, and only just caught up to them on the road this morning.  You can be on the road for whatever reason you want, and can have been on the road for hours or weeks.  All up to you.  The only requirement is that you cross paths with everyone else before the end of the weekend ;)

Badge of Valor (MIC) 1,400 gp
Headband of the Lorebinder (MIC) 1,600 gp
Healing Belt (MIC) 750gp
Enduring Amulet (MIC) 1,500gp
Contact Medallion (MIC) 3,000gp
Wand of Inspirational Boost-50/50  750gp
MW Darkwood Breastplate (considered light) 650gp, weight 15 lbs, max dex+5, Ac check -2, +5 AC
MW Lute  100gp
MW ShortBow 330gp, 1d6, 60ft, x3
  *Ammunition
x3 Fountain Head Arrows 306gp each
    x50 normal arrows
The Enduring Amulet and the Contact Medallion cannot be used at the same time (they use the same throat slot), but I don't have an issue with you having both (I'm assuming you plan to only use the Contact Medallion when scouting in animal form or somesuch thing).

A darkwood breastplate would suffer the same issues as a breastplate that had been subjected to Transmute Metal to Wood, as Darkwood is only applicable to items normally made of wood.

How much does that cost?

I could use Elven Darkleaf? Then use the Darkwood on that? In the Arms and Equipment guide is listed as leaves treated alchemically that can be used to replace metal in metal armor.
I want to try and keep the darkwood though because it counts armor as one class lighter, and I want to try and stay in the light armor range for no arcane spell failure chance. As per the bard class

As for the items, I thought perhaps using the medallion to pin my cloak up? But I can just switch them out as you mentioned.. I don't think I will be using it much anyways. Just on rare occasions.

There's darkleaf in the Eberron Campaign Setting as well...

Quote from: Eberron Campaign Setting
Similar to leafweave armor (see below), darkleaf armor is made of carefully cured and beautifully carved pieces of darkwood, supplemented by alchemically treated leaves from the darkwood tree. Making armor out of darkleaf reduces its arcane spell failure chance by 5% because the armor is so fl exible. The maximum Dexterity bonus of darkleaf armor is increased
by 1, and armor check penalties are reduced by 2. Darkleaf heavy armor is treated as medium armor for purposes of movement and other limitations, while darkleaf medium armor is considered to be light armor. Only medium and heavy armors normally made of metal can be constructed from darkleaf, and the most common forms are breastplates and banded mail.

Darkleaf Breastplate costs 2450 gp...

Where does it say that?
Quote
Darkwood
This rare magic wood is as hard as normal wood but very light. Any wooden or mostly wooden item (such as a bow, an arrow, or a spear) made from darkwood is considered a masterwork item and weighs only half as much as a normal wooden item of that type. Items not normally made of wood or only partially of wood (such as a battleaxe or a mace) either cannot be made from darkwood or do not gain any special benefit from being made of darkwood. The armor check penalty of a darkwood shield is lessened by 2 compared to an ordinary shield of its type. To determine the price of a darkwood item, use the original weight but add 10 gp per pound to the price of a masterwork version of that item.

Darkwood has 10 hit points per inch of thickness and hardness 5.
It weighs half as much. That's not the same thing as counting as one armor category lighter.

Oh crap.. where did I see that? Ummmm I will look again I thought I saw that somewhere.
I'm bout to head out the door to work though so I will post tomorrow  :D

edit:
I think I found where the confusion came from.
In Dragon Magazine 279 pg 49, Darkwood armor (described as treated with alchemical leaves) has spell failure chance decreased by 5%, max dex bonus increased by +2, armor check penalties decreased by 2, and it is treated as 1 category lighter. This was updated to 3.5e in Eberron Campaign Setting, and given the exact same stats, but called "Darkleaf".

We'll say she caught up with them on the road yesterday, since I already said something IC about detecting Agni's fylgja "last night".

You just made me stare at google maps for a couple of minutes as I attempted to decipher your explanation. :P

Okay, Einar is coming from the South and wasn't a part of the caravan guard.  Encountering Thorgrim will be enough to keep him in the group and I'd rather roleplay than than have it already have happened.

So...Einar is travelling North along the same road as the group, probably moving significantly faster because he only needs two hours of sleep (Ring of Sustenance).  This explains why he's on foot but catching up to people on horses.  Einar's end goal is to get back home to Rashmen.  I guess that means I need to figure out why Einar was travelling around in the first place.  Probably something to do with troll hunting...

Minor clarification.  The road you are on is an East-West road.  Further west of where you are currently (ie - behind you), there would be major roads meeting this one from the south.  So, you've probably been traveling east on this road for at least a few days, if you got to the area "from the south."
