"He did," Thokram says in response to Fina's rhetorical question.

Looking around, this cosmopolitan city seems to cater well to humans and similarly-sized individuals; the gnomes have built most of their public buildings to accommodate their common neighbors.  You shouldn't have any trouble finding a place that can handle your party's sizes.

Thokram leads the horses and the carriage over to the stables, handing them off to the stable boy, as well as giving him a pair of gold coins.  You'll have to pay more on the back end if you stay in town more than a day, but this will free you of the horses as you walk along the canals of the city.

You wander as a group for several minutes, crossing a bridge or two that arch high above the crossing canals, and walking close to the buildings you pass, keeping away from the drop off down to the waterways.  You come across an establishment that looks respectable enough, and find a decent-sized room inside, lit by several brightly-glowing chandeliers.  A gnomish man sits in a corner with a lute, plucking a melody as a gnome woman sings the words of a local song.  The room is about half full, with a dozen patrons sitting at tables scattered around the room.  A dwarven barkeep stands behind the bar, noticing you as your group strides in.

"Good evening, my friend!  Could you please provide us with one jug of ale for each of us and.... What dish do you suggest for first timers to this city?" Asks Novihrek to the dwarf with an amiable smile.

A pair of gate guards listen to Grey's questions, informing him there is another gate on the east side of the city, "... and, well, they could have tried to sneak in near the docks, though guards patrol there, too," the gnome says, looking up at you.  "But a human with red hair... can't say I've seen a woman like that today.  I don't recognize the man's description, either."

"Ale for four of you? Or five?" the dwarven barkeep asks, eyeing Bathra.  "Our special tonight is a spicy shark stew, with beans and rice; that ought to give you a sense of the local flavor."  He pours four ales, and carries them, two to a hand, over to a slightly larger table near the back of the room.

"Just a jigger of olive oil for me, please," Bathra says as the dwarf places the mugs in front of the four other members of your troupe.

Novihrek checks to see the group's approval, then asks for 4 of today's special. He also continues talking with the barkeep.

"Let me take this opportunity and ask you: how is night life here in Trolanport? Do you have the variety of Sharn?"

Grey, who had been tipping back his ale, almost spills it all over himself trying to avoid bursting out laughing at Novihrek's comment.

Fina motions to politely decline the offer of drink. "None for..." She trails off, however, and proceeds to take the mug in hand.

Looking around, the normally lively girl frowns. She shakes the feeling from her and smiles softly, and soon her vibrancy returns. Approaching the barkeep, she takes an abrupt swig of ale, leans in on the bar, and says, "This is a fine establishment you've got here. Mighty fine, in fact. A place like this must see quite a lot of business! And in a big port city like this, I can only imagine. The city itself must see all sorts come through. Me, I'm looking for someone who's come through this place who doesn't want to be looked for... but I do know they're interested in someone or something by the name of 'Krell.' Ever hear of anything of the sort? It might be only a part of the name, even. Anything you might know could help."
