So, a quick schedule update.  I'm leaving on Wednesday for vacation.  I'll likely be online some for the first 5 or 6 days, and then possibly not for a few days (though I'll try to check).  I'll be back on the 16th, and then leaving again on the 21st for an observing run in AZ.  That'll be 11 days of working 8pm-6am, so I'll probably be online a lot, but at odd hours.
So you're an astronomer/astrophysicist? I knew you were a physicist of some kind, but I'd forgotten exactly what flavor. Congrats on the observatory time. I'm very jealous. I used to do some amateur astronomy as a hobby, but nothing for years. I've been thinking of getting my own telescope (probably an 8" reflector or something), though, as my kid is getting old enough that he actually might be interested in it. He's four, and one night a few weeks ago we went out looking at the moon with binoculars and I had a hard time getting him inside when it was bed time. :P
I don't pee messages into the snow often , but when I do , it's in Cyrillic with Fake Viagra.  Stay frosty my friends.

Yes, I am.  I'll be observing at the MDM observatory -- Columbia (where I'm getting my PhD) has dedicated time, and since it's for my thesis I've been given 10 nights on there.  It's not the best instrument, but it works, and the time is available.  It's pretty cool, though rather boring and lonely.  I'll take some pics while I'm out there.

And definitely get your son into astronomy!  :D :D

Oh, you mean my astronomical images?

First, I had meant just bringing a camera and taking pics of the observatory :D

Second, I'm doing spectroscopy... no nice images, sadly.  I can show you a nice spectrum or two that I took last summer, though.

Here are 4 spectra of stars I took last summer.

So you're observing stars in the infrared region? Or redshifted galaxies? Or what?

Yes, stars in the NIR.  Looking for Wolf-Rayet stars in the Milky Way.  (Interestingly enough, my advisor is 1st author on one of the papers referenced there.)

So with Endarire, now asking questions that probably most likely affect him later in the game are we looking at getting started? Is phae ready? End can you rock your beginning level character now?

Now, I'm awaiting last word on:

-Whether I can join an animal handler's guild.
-What benefits/favors I get from joining, and what duties/favors are expected of me.

Once that's done, I can finish shopping and be done!

I have a very busy weekend... I'll try to answer E's last questions by tomorrow night, and then Monday or Tuesday will start up the games.

Sure. I've been insanely busy as well, and haven't updated my games in several days, either...

I'm coming down with a cold, and may be slower to update than usual... sorry.  :(  My head is quite fuzzy right now...

I'm aware this is some thread necromancy, but can I get a PM as to why I/everyone can't enjoy reading the adventures (subforums) in here by default? Is it a privacy thing I'm not aware of?

SirP had the subboards made private since he was running the same solo adventure simultaneously for Endarire and Phaedrus. That way they couldn't see each other's progress. A few of us in the peanut gallery who asked were allowed to see both. At this point, you could probably bug Prime (with SirP's approval of course) to make them both public.

Any chance of reviving this game, Percival?  I'd like to continue.
