Vir6 steps through Sheerak’s Gate into the location marked with a 6 on the map, and as the Gate winks out, immediately everyone (except the parrots) pours out of the Bag into battle ready positions in the air, flying as planned.

To the northwest, northeast, and southwest, the location looks about as expected from the map. You are almost at the somewhat irregular intersection of two cramped corridors with rocky rubble piles along the walls. The floor is blocks of polished stone, but crazed with cracks. The walls have carved designs. The ceiling is rough and uneven, fifteen to twenty feet high, with large chunky depressions in it.

To the southeast, the corridor was to have continued, but instead, there is a perfectly smooth but unpolished wall that appears to be stone, wall to wall, ceiling to floor. It is not carved.

Ror6’s demolitions target is a few feet down the corridor to the southeast according to the combat map; you’re almost exactly at the point to place the explosive charge, but it is where the smooth wall is.

The air is still, no movement whatever.

Vir6 senses Magic all around in the 30ft of corridors visible. Ror6 senses the same, for 60ft to the extent that much corridor is visible. Their senses do not penetrate the corridor walls. Both sense that a Spell just triggered. The Detect info on the Link allows Ror6 and Halt6 to recognize an Alarm Spell, via Spellcraft.

However, their senses do penetrate the smooth stone wall. Behind it they Detect more Magic. The Detect info on the Link allows Ror6 and Halt6 to recognize a Wall of Force, via Spellcraft. Their Detect does not penetrate the Wall of Force; it stops there.

Ror6 responds to Ror2 on the Link.  Actually, we (Group 6) are on the correct side of the Walls.  We were going to continue into the Warrens anyway.  But, I agree that we should still blow our tunnel as planned, because we definitely don't want our backs uncovered, should the Walls be dispelled.

Ror6 begins placing the demolitions.  Vir6 and Halfaz6, do you want to scout down the tunnel a little bit?  Halt6 you could scout along with them, but from inside the walls, ready to fly out at a moment's notice.  Sheerak6 and Tanatou6, stay with me just in case.  Whoever's scouting, don't go too far, and make sure you put everything on the Link.  If there's trouble, Earthglide into the walls, and head back to us.

EDIT:  I just remembered that all but 1 of Ptolemaeus's copies are in a doggie bag for safekeeping, and the 1 remaining is in group 10, so I took him out of this post.

Group6 stays close in the corridor as they take charge of their tasks.

Sheerak6, Halt6, and Tanatou6 stand guard, each facing into one of the three open tunnels converging on this point, while without any difficulty, Ror6 gets his tasks done exactly as planned: Ror6 finds a long fracture line in the stony ceiling… there are several to choose from… and sets the charge with gum in it, and in him, ready to blow at his thought.

Vir6 is actively Searching and Listening up and down the corridor, accompanied by Halfaz6 looking in all directions at once for any surprises.

With Vir6’s excellent Listening, he hears very faint scrabbling sounds echoing in the corridor… possibly to the north, though at this point where so many converge, it’s hard to tell which ones . As agreed this information goes on the Link.

Ror6 is standing near the smooth stone wall, the southwest side of an irregular intersection of corridors, about to create a debris wall of his own; he has finished placing the demolitions charge right in front of it. To the southwest the corridor was to have continued on in the direction of the slave pens, but instead, there is the smooth wall.

One of the four corridor stretches away to the north about 70 or 80 feet before it widens into a small cavern, according to the map. The scrabbling sounds Vir6 heard to the north quickly become lumbering claws on stone as he and Halfaz6 see a rush of creatures coming toward them, southbound from the small cavern to the north: a crowding mass of Umber Hulks! As the cavern narrows into the passage, there is a lot of pushing and shoving as they all try to fit into the corridor at once, and then they begin to take turns and their rush starts again, driven by a much larger Umber Hulk at the rear of the pack. There are six in the pack altogether, including the large leader.

Behind them, at the intersection, Ror6 is facing the smooth stone wall while Sheerak6, Halt6, and Tanatou6 stand guard, counterclockwise around the intersection, each facing outward into one of the three open tunnels converging on this point. All four of them are suddenly pelted by a shower of stones from directly overhead, and an enormous Umber Hulk, easily two to three times the size of the ones at the front of the pack, drops out of the ceiling right behind them, and into the middle of the four of them, swinging its long arms and powerful torso to strike at them as it hangs upside down out of the ceiling.

There is no surprise for either side, but the party has two rounds to act before the first Umber Hulk coming down the hallway careens into them, trailing a cloud of blue-gray stone dust. The enormous Umber Hulk in the middle of the party, however, is in combat with them immediately as they turn around to face it.

How much of the explosives does Ror6 have leftover?

{Ror6 on the link}  The demolitions are all in place.  Let's try to Earthglide around the Umber Hulks and then blow the corridor from the other side of the group.

As a free action, Ror6 discharges the Circle of Good Hope / Spell Ritual: Greater Mirror Image.

If the Umber Hulks are detecting as evil, as a free action Ror6 will discharge Advanced Circle of Good Hope coupled with Spell Ritual: Bastion of Good.  *Note that the Advanced Circle of Good Hope increases the Morale Bonus on attacks, saves, and skill checks to +5 if you're within 75' of Ror6.

Ror6, immediately after discharging the two rituals, phases into the ground and begins moving through the ground several feet under the advancing party of Umber Hulks.  Once we're ~200' from the demolition site (and a little ways away from the group of Umber Hulks), Ror6 will surface and hover in the air.  Immediately after the last of the party is aboveground, Ror6 will think "BOOOOM!"

A moment after Ror5 puts his intention on the Link for nearby location5, the floor jumps and heaves sideways back and forth at location6. The shockwave shakes the enormous Umber Hulk hanging out of the ceiling, tossing it like a rag doll; it barely keeps its grip on the ceiling, nearly falling out of its hole.

As the floor pitches, the Umber Hulks charging south down the corridor bounce against the walls and each other, tumbling like toys.

Group6 is prepared by Ror5’s information on the Link, and so you all aren’t as affected by the shockwave nearly as much as the Umber Hulks are, though it’s still hard to keep your direction while getting bounced around.

Four more shockwaves arrive, not nearly as severe but still rattling bones and teeth, from distant explosions transmitted sharply through the rock, first two from the east, and then two from the northeast in quick succession.

The uneven ceiling overhead in the corridor grinds and groans through shake after shake. Fine grit sifts down onto heads and shoulders, and a long cascade of loose chunks of rock spills out of the hole in the ceiling from the Umber Hulk’s burrowing at location6, pelting everyone.
