Homebrew and House Rules (D&D) / New Invocation based on Magic Fang

I need to come up with an invocation based on the Superior Magic Fang spell for a shapechanging Warlock. In the tradition of Warlock invocations I'd like it to work as the spell, but with a little something extra.
Any ideas?

There's going to be a dragon hanging out with my Level 1 party, and I don't want it showing the PC's up. Are there any dragons/drakes out there less powerful than a pseudodragon?

I'm starting a new campaign where the GM is creating character classes for us, tailored to what we want to do in the game. They'll be balanced against each other, all have 2/3 spellcasting, and will be superior to base classes.
Since traditional min-maxing is out the window, I was wondering what are the best types of abilities. In short, what's the best thing you can do with your actions in combat? Spellcasting is probably on top, but that's already covered. Next would be...Tactical battlefield control? Tanking? Healing? Skill-monkey-ing?
If you could do anything (that's level appropriate) in the game, or a combination of things, what would you choose?

Howdy. Long time gamer, first-time poster. Been playing D&D since 1st edition. Live in Orange County, CA.
Luckanan was the name a 2nd Ed. Aesthetic (yes, obscure character class) who got trapped in the body of a dog.
