"Stranger? Wow, not much for elaboration, are you?" Greed gives a smile and steps forward to look through the rifles, seeing how damaged any appear to the untrained eye. Generally speaking, he couldn't give a damn about carrying the irritating things. "What kind of cube? Seems we could use another job, since this one seems fairly rolled up. And it is for the public good, anyways. We really can't say no, right guys?"

Dirk grudging says "Fine with me, as long as I don't have to get burned to a crisp again by those damned kobolds." as he pulls at a hole burned into his shirt.

"Oh, they shouldn't attack you again. By now they know you have been down here and seen me. Leaving alive means that I either let you go or you beat me, neither of which would spur a kobold into action against you."

"As for the cube, while we were testing out the binding circles one of the more enterprising kobolds put a pixie in the second circle... thus we have what you would call pixie cubes and they are a right bastard to get rid of."

Kergis nods.  "I'm fine with shooting the thing for you.  Rewards are useful things after all."

"Well, that sounds pleasant.... I suppose we could kill it for you. Probably can't catch it, but is there a bonus if we do?"

"I think blowing it apart will have to suffice. Speaking of which, clean-up isn't part of the job, right? I think the kobolds ought to take care of that part."

"It is probably better off dead, plus the kobolds are rather good at coming up with uses for exploded gelatenous cube... or rather they have become really good at it, the amount of cubes we went through testing the circles is ridiculous"

He picks a piece of paper up from the table, glances at it casually and offers it to you.

"This is a map of the complex, I guess your employer managed to lose both of the previous copies... The cube should be in the main atrium, north east corner. You might also want to activate the lights, the leaver for that is in the north west room, next to the entrance you came down here from."

"OH! OH IS THAT WHAT THE LEVER DOES? WELL GOLLY, I SUPPOSE SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE PULLED IT!" Greed takes the map of the complex and immediately starts marching back up the stairs.

Dirk winces and says "Sorry. He's a bit excitable." and turns to follow Greed.

"Those must be traps. Remember how we encountered traps in just those same spots as we passed through? At least now we know where to look out for them."

Greed very carefully gropes his way in the darkness, torch-vial in hand, back to the room with the glowing crystals, and finds the lever in the glowing. Once he's flipped it to turn the lights on, he stashes his glowing vial, muttering "I hate you all..." under his breath.

The vents at the top of the room grind open, obviously rarely used. Light begins to spill into the room and focuses on the crystals which begin to glow intensely, a second later a beam of white light shoots from the top of the crystal into a small hole in the ceiling after which the whole complex begins to light up. Strips of crystal embedded in the ceilings of each room glow to provide a decent level of illumination.

Kergis looks around at the lit up crystals and nods his head in approval.
