Yeah, loot boxes will vanish in Belgium. To make up for the lost money the odds of getting what you want in the USA will be "halved". Taking it down from 0.00001% to 0.0000005%.

As one of the commenters points out, Nintendo isn't bringing back the Virtual Consoleā„¢. They are bringing back classic games with online multiplayer. So they need a new brand name, one that attaches it's self to the Switch so when they release their next console they can try to make you rebuy every goddamn game again along with Hyrule Warriors: The ICan'TBelieveYouAreStupidEnoughToKeepBuyingThisThing Edition.

Legend of Zelda? The Legend of Zelda?? Woot!

Hey, it worked for Skyrim!

Plus let's be honest, not that many people bought the Wii U, and the 3DS version was virtually unplayable unless you got the fancy new 3DS, so another chance to play Hyrule Waifus Warriors is pretty good.

Hahaha, nice try.  RE4 trumps even Skyrim!

Platform(s)    GameCube, PlayStation 2, Microsoft Windows, Wii, Zeebo, iOS, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Android, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

vs Skyrim's

Platform(s)    Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch
What do I win?
An awesome-five for mentioning Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness.

Well yeah RE4 technically got released in even more platforms, but the thing with Skyrim is that not only keeps getting re-released, it's still pretty popular (#1 on gamefaqs, still crazy active modding scene).

I don't think I've managed to crash HW on my 3DSXL yet and I haven't really experienced too many drops in frame rate either. Do you suspend the game or actually shut the handheld down?

And I'm not going to spend eighty bucks on the ability to restart from scratch on a loooooooooong game I already own. But don't worry, there are plenty of people that agree with you and the idea of rebuying your games every year.

If you already have it good for you, but it's also great for people who didn't get it before because of hardware reasons to have a new shot at it.

Like Dragon Ball, I wish they would just let that game DIE.

I'd probably buy switch Hyrule warriors just cause my wiiu one was entirely shafted by all the worthwhile dlc going into the 3ds one and as much as that pissed me off I'd like to play the full game with all the stuff I wasn't allowed to have.

Having read Reddit's feed on this for years as well as reading GameFAQs I'd like to say the game runs better on the N3DS then it does on the WiiU. It's just the 3DS version doesn't look as nice or keep as many characters loaded on screen (hence the fairy nuke).

You have already have all the 3DS's DLC/Patches, they were just incorporated into Story Mode's advancement on the 3DS rather than immediate unlocks like the WiiU.

What you don't have is the fairies but the 3DS version is missing two characters.

Yeah yeah, Goku's hair needs to run out of ink eventually. That monkey has had more transformations than a drag queen on a road tour.

To be fair, it is the series that started the whole "This is not even my final form!" meme.

Still gotta love how the latest DB fighting game has almost half the cast being different colours of Goku.

What is a Zeebo? And there was a RE4 on android and iOS?

https://www.engadget.com/2018/05/09/ea-loot-boxes-are-gambling-heres-more-loot-boxes/

EA cares not what you mortals think of loot boxes:

Electronic Arts will "push forward" with loot boxes in its future video games, despite admitting that "all loot boxes are gambling." Yeesh. In an investor's call, CEO Andrew Wilson said that EA has worked with "all the industry associations" and with regulators across the globe to establish that programs like FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) are not gambling.

How's that? According to him, it's because you're guaranteed a certain amount of items with each purchase. And because EA doesn't facilitate a way to sell the items for real-world money (like you would cash out chips at a casino) or assign a currency value to the FUT gear, it's acting within the law.

Which is fair. Before you pull the trigger on a FUT purchase, you know how many items are inside and their value. Same goes for gacha games like Fire Emblem Heroes -- you're aware of what the odds are before you drop any cash.

Wilson also said that EA actively works to shut down any sorts of illegal activity with regard to FUT sales.

With that in mind, EA will continue to offer whatever it's calling loot boxes for the foreseeable future. Wilson said that the company will "continue to push forward" with the items. "We're always thinking about our players," he said. "We're always thinking about how to deliver these types of experiences in a transparent, fun, fair and balanced way for our players. And we'll communicate with regulators around the world on it."

So EA is learning from Vegas?

Now here's what I'd like to see happen with a big name game.  Put in loot boxes, with their odds of winning, and put in each winnable item with a set purchase value, so that players can choose to gamble or just straight up buy the stuff they want.  See which system sees more use.

Obviously, loot boxes should be "cheaper", incentivizing them to be bought.  I figure many people will buy loot boxes to get a bunch of stuff at the start, then just buy the items they actually want.  Some will skip loot boxes entirely, going for just the stuff they want and not caring about the rest, and some will likely exist almost solely upon loot boxes.  But what will the actual ratios be?  That would be some interesting data ...

What I'd like to see happen with a EA's upper management: Their paychecks, bonuses, and benefits are locked away in multiple loot boxes designed by the people that they are trying to screw over.
