Metamagic And You: A Thesis Discussion
« on: July 11, 2014, 01:07:04 PM »
Welp. It's been a while coming, caused by disinterest, apathy, and the occasional bit of hate for the system, but the discussion thread for my handbook "Metamagic And You" is now open.

... (reads) ... I had a thread back at BG T.O. about the Cerebremetamagic feat.

Since you have to build a Dual Caster, it gimps a lot of the goodies you'd normally go for on the Wizard side of things.  However the cost of Metamagic is covered by psionic power points ... effectively a near doubling of slots !!   And that's before my obligatory mention of psi recharge.  It is complicated, though.  No real ideas about a build without pulling cheese out of my kitty avatar's "tail".

Mind you, I'm tempted to remove most Dragon items from the guide, because Paizo. Cerebremetamagic is an interesting feat, though. Not appropriate for the guide, since it's a Metapsionic feat. Would be a great addition to a Theurge guide, however.

You should probably note in the case of metamagic song that you can't use it on spells that would be adjusted higher than you can cast without it. Thus, you can only use it to do something like persist a 3rd level spell at level 17. Probably worth rating downwards as a result.

Song of the Dead is a +1 metamagic feat that lets enchantment spells work on intelligent undead.
