[PF] Super Stats
« on: January 17, 2020, 03:46:57 AM »
Wyrwood + Ability Score Modification + Hedge Magician = 807 Int at 20th level with standard WBL.

+ Idealize + Fox's Cunning + Alternate Capstone = 20th wizard with 823 Int

You can apply the body mods to all of your ability scores, but Con. But if you take the Living Machine alternate racial trait, you can do it to your Con too.

One small hitch is
Quote
A modification can only be performed while the construct is inanimate or nonfunctioning.
A pair of wyrwood wizards could do it to eachother, but not to themselves.

Less cheesy is using this on a Clocksmith's familiar to make a crazy strong mauler familiar.

Was toying around with this idea previously, I had originally planned to use magic jar to render the body non functioning while using the stolen body to perform the modification, but I forgot about immunity to necromancy so idk.

One of their alt racial traits might help.

Quote
Living Machine Through generations of refining the techniques of creation, many young wyrwoods have become closer to organic beings than constructs. These wyrwoods are constructs with the living machine subtype. They gain a Constitution score and can be targeted by spells and effects that target living creatures or constructs, as well as those that require a Fortitude save. They are no longer immune to ability damage, ability drain, energy drain, exhaustion, or fatigue. Wyrwoods with this trait require sleep, but they do not need to breathe or eat. They are not destroyed when reduced to 0 hit points, instead becoming unconscious and stable. They are destroyed when reduced to a negative number of hit points equal to their Constitution score. They can be raised or resurrected when destroyed.

This alters the wyrwood’s creature type.

Yeah, I saw that after I posted >.<
Magic jar might work anyways because the target isn't the construct.
There's also some silly stuff with instant enemy and favoured enemy construct, but even if you read it permissively the duration is still a problem.

So modify your own clone then off yourself?  Rinse repeat ad nauseum for NI stats?

Not sure they're a valid target for Clone. That spell requires "flesh", and Wyrwoods don't appear to have any.

Kinda figured that was the whole point of the Living Machine option, but I'd have to look at the specific wording.

No, the point of the Living Machine option is to have a constitution score so that you can get bonus hitpoints and fortitude saves from a positive constitution score like normal spellcasters. Also so you can get healed and resurrected by spells as normal, and drop unconscious at 0 hitpoints instead of instantly being destroyed, and if you want to use any feats with constitution prerequisites. Oddly enough the Living Machine option does not appear to remove the +10 hitpoints you get as a construct, so Living Machine Wyrwoods make for some rather tough Wizards.
