Title: Mordenkainen's
Post by: bhu on May 21, 2018, 10:33:01 PM
They brought back Giffs.  And several Demon/Devil Lords (Asmodeus is noticeable missing).

Isn't he a god now?  I think I remember that happening in the transition to 4e.

According to wiki he's still a God like he was in 4e.

( zoom ... )

Back cover ~says for use with Core 3 , uh-oh.

Dybbuk looks interesting.
Summon to big battle, after things start dying.
Speak with Dead at-will, until it figures things out.
Nearly Moon Druid 20 's worth of temp hit points,
over and over, until everything is dead.
Oh and it's CR 4.

oops --- a little bit of Berberlang popped in there.  Same idea tho'.

Late to the show but I caught something in there today.

Failing a save against a Sibriex can be interesting, gain Darkvision, +10 to Speed, wings with a 30ft fly speed, +1 to AC but -2 Cha, grow a tail that can be used as a whip, claws that deal 1d4, and so on. A bunch of them are flavorful, like double the size of your head, but very few are terrible (blind, -10ft spd, vulnerability). It might be worth caging one and ending minions in as a sort of breeding program.

Githyanki Silver Swords are an interesting consideration for defense. +3 Attuned Legendary(greatsword), but gives Advantage on mental saves, immunity to Charm, and resistance to Psychic damage. And I also love how Drow Matrons have a tentacle rod that when used consecutively on someone drops their movement/reaction/dex.  ;)
