I'm fine with whatever, but still around.

It's already at $230,000 out of a $10,000 goal.

:D

Did PLZ's avatar Eat my avatar ?!
That's hilarious.

Alternatively, I think Thief is considered another good class to dual-class out of because it levels fast, but then stops getting useful abilities.  If someone else can take over the Thief-y things for a while, then changing out of Thief into Magic User is potent.  Or maybe just eat the XP penalties for using your Thief skills because even if you get your Magic User levels slowly, it's still more worthwhile than waiting a bunch of levels to only get another backstab multiplier.
Or just be a bard, Nale.  :P

It seems like starting out as a fighter and only taking like 1 or 2 levels then going into wizard or something might be worth it. Otherwise, I agree multiclassing was better.

Yeah that's one of my favorite books.

It works "As Concealing Amorpha", which explicitly says you're still visible. So you're still targetable, but they have a 50% miss chance. It's basically the psionic version of Blink.

I read it as such until a couple of days ago, when it was pointed out to me that the PH glossary declares total concealment to block LoS (which, since GCA is CA except that you gain TC, would override), and per Rules Compendium you need LoS to target.
But the big membranous "thing" that encases you is still clearly visible, meaning they know what square you're in and can target your square with attacks. This works for melee and ranged attacks (and they get a 50% miss chance). It might block spells that require you to select a target, though, depending on how you interpret it.

Had another game (which turned into a 2-parter). Both this one and the last were technically only with my son, but he played my daughter's pixie while she was at Disneyland, and we hope she'll be rejoining us after she's back. :D

The archdruid sent them to investigate more disturbances in the northern forest, as rumors of strange creatures seemingly appearing from nowhere and  rampaging across it are spreading. They fought a dozen blightborn (UE) grimlocks, and then faced off against a mysterious skeletal figure accompanied by a blightborn grey render. They lucked out and no one failed a fort save against the disease, and although they prevailed, the mysterious figure (who used mysterious powers... i.e. psionics) escaped in the end using teleportation magic. He was silent the entire time, and so they have no idea who he was or what he was doing there, but they suspect it was nefarious because he was obviously undead and his grey render companion was infected with the blight.

My son's comment was "You're going to make me fight an evil druid in the end, aren't you?" to which I of course replied "Maybe..."

I'm thinking about having undead psionicists be a "thing" that's associated with the blight: i.e. the "elite warriors" of the power behind it will all be undead psionics users of some kind. I was also inspired by the "quietness" of this one, and am thinking of having them all have their mouths stitched shut as part of the ritual to make it extra creepy (but worry this might be a bit too extra creepy for my kids...)

Rebooted the game. The archdruid asked them to go investigate a "dragon" that had been seen terrorizing an area North of their home. It turned out to be a yrthak with a medusa ally. They easily clobbered both of them, using clever tactics and good scouting plus a lucky fortitude save from the pixie who was scouting and first saw the medusa.

Board Business / Re: Technical Issues Resolved
« on: February 18, 2019, 10:39:30 AM »
I've had intermittent problems getting the boards to load. I get a message saying the server can't process that, or something similar. It's been from a variety of computers and networks, and happened on 2-3 different days spread out over the last week or two. It seems to resolve after a few hours.

Greater Insightful Strike damage 2d20+62 : 17, 19 + 62, total 98

attack for Ruby Nightmare Blade w/full power attack 1d20+5 : 20 + 5, total 25

damage for Ruby Nightmare Blade 1d6+22 : 4 + 22, total 26

Take 15 (expending focus) for 46 on Concentration against the Varakhut's full AC to double damage (if fails, -2 to hit roll above, and damage not doubled).

Dyson shields himself from elemental damage and activates the Machine Cog, and then uses his boots to warp space around him to appear adjacent to the Varakhut  inevitable and deliver a carefully calculated blow to it, aimed at its most vulnerable spot using the shimmering blade he had manifested from his mind earlier. He then blinks briefly out of and back into existence again in the same spot and attacking it again, but instead swinging with what looks like a wild haymaker rather than a calculated blow. He then beckons with one hand towards Aeloru, and she feels time speed up around her, granting her a new round of actions (White Raven Tactics).

My brother and I saw something weird when we were kids. It looked like the old cliche of a flying disc/saucer, and it seemed to be hovering. We couldn't tell how far away and/or large it was. I ran into the house to grab a camera, but while I was gone it flew away (my brother saw that part, it didn't appear to move while I was watching).

Given the vast gulfs of time and space likely separating us from any "aliens" I very much doubt it was from another world, but I sure don't know what the hell it was.
