Any spellcaster can combine feats like Versatile Spellcaster with Heighten Spell to enter PRCs earlier than normal? As I understand feats like Versatile Spellcaster are needed to give you the higher level spell slot and Heighten Spell because they don't normally know of that level. However  in the Warmage spell section it says "When a warmage gains access to a new level of spells, he automatically knows all the spells for that level listed on the warmage spell list.
So does a Warmage need Heighten spell to enter a PRC early and if so why?
I think that was resonablely clear but if there is something that is not so clear please ask and I will try to explain myself better

I would like if people could suggest examples of the varies class in fiction (films, book's TV, etc). The better known the fiction the better.

Gaming Advice / Extend spell + Vigor

Am I correct in thinking that Extend spell works normally when applied to any of the Vigor spells and therefor double the amount of healing it provides?

Gaming Advice / Fair price for a Arrow of spell storing?
« on: May 10, 2013, 07:05:26 AM »
I think everyone will agree that 166 gp is to cheap for a +1 arrow of spell storing but I could be wrong. Assuming that there is a fair price for such an item and I don't see why there shouldn't be what would that price be? either a +1 arrow of spell storing a arrow of spell storing which is not +1

Remember that you will need to appley the Energy Substitution feat to most of those spells which will change the damage type they deal.

Would anyone disagree that Summoners should never use it unless forced despite being spontaneous casters. As there are a number of eidolon specific spells that are essential to playing an effective summoner that can not be replicated though word spells?

Gaming Advice / [Pathfinder] Tripping Staff Question
« on: June 10, 2012, 07:42:38 AM »
Does the special text for Tripping Staff allow a staff magus with the feat to cast a touch spell and instead of making a melee attack from Spellstrike making a trip attempt and discharging the spell if the attack is successful?

Handbook Discussion / Handbook Idea/Request Spells by Descriptor
« on: June 01, 2012, 05:57:04 PM »
I think it would be a good idea to create a handbook that lists each 3.5 spell descriptor and all the spells that are have each descriptor.

eg
[Law]
(click to show/hide)

[Good]

(click to show/hide)

etc

Gaming Advice / What movment speeds does the dash feat affect?
« on: May 31, 2012, 02:41:21 PM »
What movement speeds does the dash feat affect?
Is it just your base speed?
Is it each speed you have?
Is it one speed of your choice?
Is it some other posibility I have not considered

Say you have a base speed of 30ft and a burrow speed of 10ft and take the dash feat how would it affect each of those speeds?

Min/Max 3.x / Re: [Pure Pathfinder] Effective Healing

Glorious Heat has been unofficially corrected. The reason as I understand it that it has been unofficially corrected and not officially errataed is that Paizo only publishes errata when reprinting a book and  the feat is in a soft cover book that is unlikly to get reprinted anytime soon if at all.

I can see nothing on the srd that suggestes they have fixed the Echoing Spell/Spell Perfection combo

Remember if you are using channel energy to heal in combat that it affects all affects all creatures of one type (either undead or living) in a 30-foot radius centered on the cleric. So if your enemies are within 30ft of the cleric then they will be healed as well unless they are undead.

I am running a pathfinder game and as the title may suggest one of my players is playing a wizard and I fell the player is not well suited to playing a wizard.  To give an example the players were in a crypt and were having problems because it was dark in there the wizard had the light catrip prepared and under the pathfinder rules a wizard can cast a cantrip a often as they please. I had to roll intelligence for him and tell him that it may be a good idea to cast light before he released that.
