It's a little hard to deal with quotes and copypasta on my phone but Extended Demoralization leaves them Shakened. Since Fear stacks, you spend your Swift Action every round aftet that locking then into the next stage (frightened). I have no idea who told you Cowering is a 4th stage of Fear or that the Fighter can do it without other additions.

As for the why? Extended Demoralization extends Intimidate's effect and people have pointed out Demoralize is a usage of Intimidate then applied the appeal that the Fighter needs shiny things. After all, you did pick up nine levels of suck to accomplish something a magic item does as a Free Action.

Irregardless, it does not allow you to cherry picked aspects of Imperious Command. They both essentially modify Demoralize, not each other.

42
A Zhentarim Fighter with Imperious Command can use Demoralize to make his opponent Cowering for one round then Shakened for the next 24 hours. What you're looking for is the Zhentarim's Swift Demoralization. It allows the Fighter to remake an Intimidate Check every round without interrupting his attack & movement.

You know, it's weird I have to say this, but I've never been more glad to agree with you on something.
Would you mind if I copied this text and showed it to a few friends of mine?
Go ahead.

Also, remember T'Chaka's role in the Sokovia Accords and how the love interest Nakia was on an operation to halt hunter/human trafficking. In the nerd mapped timeline, the events in the Black Panther film end in 07-07-2016 but Thanos doesn't arrive until 03-26-2018 giving T'Challa two years of rule to come up with a better open door policy than "We're still hiding." You know, in case someone tries to say Wakanda was totally isolated until Killmonger changed T'Challa's mind. ;)

So it's the end of the year and everyone has to reflect back on things and create top ten charts. And one of the things about them is it just bugs the hell out of me how often Black Panther appears on those lists and how people think Erik Killmonger is a good guy at heart or that he is about black rights. It should be no surprise that I, SorO_Lost, is more than happy to say: You are all wrong.

As Everett Ross (martin freemen, aka the white guy) explains Erik went to Afghanistan and racked up kills like it was a video game. He joined a ghost unit just so he could commit assassinations. And Erik him self started referring to him self as "Killmonger". A name that quite literally enforces this back story. A monger is a person who promotes a specified activity, situation, or feeling, especially one that is undesirable or discreditable. Such as killing which is unquestionably evil and Erik murdered them all without any actual regard for morality, but for his training.

Which according to the CIA, Erik specialized in government destabilization. This is overlooked because few few people can grasp this concept. But to topple a government your goal is to convince enough of the general population that the current government doesn’t deserve to exist and the house of cards crumbles. And this is exactly what Erik does with his so called opposition to Wakanda's isolation, that T'Challa's father was dishonorable, and for being a part of them then by extension T'Challa doesn't deserve to be king. The audience imprinted idea that he stands up for black rights isn't some kind of redeemable trait of his character, rather they have fallen prey to his tactical deceit.

He has no real racial motivation and he is not some kind of African freedom fighter. For example he claimed he killed his brothers and sisters which is taken by a dumbstruck audience to mean he killed other Africans. But remember he did tours in Afghanistan & Iran and Islamics are not "black", they're white skinned. When he talks about arming Africians, he actually says he is going to arm his war dogs and they will arm the oppressed people. Wakanda's "war dogs" are their spies and it's direct and intentional parallel to Operation Cyclone which is where the USA's spy agency known as the CIA trained and equipped terrorists in Afghanistan to destabilize the Soviet influenced nation. Those oppressed people he's talking about isn't based on Africans, it just happens to include them because they are this charlatan's mark. The real goal is sort of copied after his father's idea that Wakanda should rule over everything, except Erik also plans to destroy Wakanda as part of his revenge.

Erik directly admits that all of his training, deceit, and murder has been for one thing. To kill T'Challa. And when T'Challa points out Erik's actions will destroy Wakanda, Erik simply yells at him that he is going to track down everyone who is loyal to T'Challa and kill them. This is his entire goal and motivation and it is to destroy everything T'Chaka had which is personified by T'Challa's hopes & home. And during the film we see him doing exactly that. He manipulates people and then executes them without any regard for loyalty. Once he becomes king he destroys the herb garden to secure his power. When T'Challa returns Erik rebukes the idea that the challenge is still ongoing citing he is king (and thus has the unchallenged right to rule) as he leads the Wakanda nation into a civil war. He doesn't aim to achieve any sort of moral goal. The man is an incarnate of chaos, he is bent on destroying Wakanda (and the world) by any means possible, such as his destabilization training has told him to, for revenge.

And it's subtle but the film even alludes to the fact that Erik is doomed to go to hell. When Erik participates in the black panther ritual he enters the panther's realm of an afterlife he goes to his old home and reverts to a child dreaming of an unseen land. N'Jobu appears asking for tears but Erik refuses to shed any and N'Jobu breaks down. He is clearly distraught with the man that Erik has came to be. N'Jobu remarks he should have taken Erik to Wakanda but instead they are both abandoned here. Audience members think here means Oakland California but N'Jobu wasn't abandoned in the USA. He was a War Dog that voluntarily took the assignment and maintained contact with Wakanda. N'Jobu was abandoned in the panther realm, in the afterlife, for betraying and killing his people with the intent to incite a war so his nation could rule the world. His insinuation that that Erik was abandoned as well had nothing to do with the living Wakanda people. And when Erik refuses to see that point arguing that N'Jobu's home is lost all N'Jobu can do is hang his head in shame. Further blaming him self for the helpless state his son has devolved to.

N'Jadaka, aka Erik Stevens, aka Killmonger is not a good guy. Stop trying to claim he is.

It can be instant cast if needed which is a nice option for versatility. But it can be buffed up, or even Persisted, for multi-round protection. And instead of just wasting your opponent's offensive action, it turns it against them.

sorry for Triggering you  :p but not everything is connected
My tinfoil hat tells me otherwise.

Google it, there has been a recent up swing in anti Internet porn, it started gaining some traction a few years ago. It comes and goes.

Did you miss the part where this all started due to the tumblr app getting kicked off of the app store
Wasn't that like six months after Netflix's child porn accusation and like nine months after Craig's List banned it's escort list for that bill introduced in March? Hmm, when did the UK pass it's mandatory age-verification for porn, maybe I could list that or all of those sub bans on Reddit over the last year...

Yeah, I'm sure I totally forgot about Tumblr's app banning starting anything.

SorO has a major kneejerk reaction when it comes to anything that looks remotely related to the political left.
You can pretty much just ignore his ranting.
Nearly everyone turns into a Conservative at some point or they die trying. :p

The Buffeting Fists graft (MoE) is just about the best anti-archer defense.
Nice for mundanes I suppose, but a Wandhilt & UMD can do better.

With an arcane word, you create a shimmering field of golden light around your body that pulses and wavers before vanishing.
Whenever you are the target of a ranged attack or a ranged touch attack, you can cast this spell to deflect the attack toward another target within 30 feet. Use the same attack roll. If the redirected attack hits the new target, resolve it as normal. Otherwise, the attack fails. If you extend the casting time to 1 full round, the duration changes from instantaneous to 1 round per caster level.

but on the other hand it major sucks for the good ( for various definitions of good) content creators and the communities that already feel marginalized
The far left "Libtards" have moved to targeting porn. Well I mean porn has always been a moral target. But after MeToo movement the idea is all men are abusive rapists due to violent porn.

This is being coupled with the general new age idea that you should censor anything you find offensive with the general Gen Z idea that someone else should do the legwork. eg It's not my contributions that make Tumblr's atmosphere poisonous, it's Tumblr's.

It's a bad cycle, but I don't doubt for a minute porn will survive through.

Kirby Star Allies's 3rd DLC was posting around 10pm Eastern Time Zone.

It adds 4 new Dream Friends.
Magolor: The new broken one, you can release a black hold and float around while charging his attacks. His air dodge also allows you to freely fly around and lasts a considerably long time.
Taranza: The spider guy, not too impressive unless you liked the spider power.
Susie: Disappointing, mostly just has an charge up dash. Can summon a mech but it only has a spin attack, stomp, or missile shot.
The Three Mage-Sisters: I haven't unlocked them yet, but they were spoiled in a Youtube Preview. They are a single character choice but unlike the Rick/Kine/Coo combo which morphs based on the move, they each have a full set drawn from their boss attacks and can high five each other out.

Heroes in Another Dimension
An entire new map run and according to the previews it's supposed to have areas focused on certain characters, either changing you or added them as teammates, which sounds cool. Initial feed back however is it's significantly harder which is something the game needed. Apparently you're supposed to collect hearts along the way, probably unlocks the sisters, but I need some sleep for tomorrow.

Late to the show but I caught something in there today.

Failing a save against a Sibriex can be interesting, gain Darkvision, +10 to Speed, wings with a 30ft fly speed, +1 to AC but -2 Cha, grow a tail that can be used as a whip, claws that deal 1d4, and so on. A bunch of them are flavorful, like double the size of your head, but very few are terrible (blind, -10ft spd, vulnerability). It might be worth caging one and ending minions in as a sort of breeding program.

Githyanki Silver Swords are an interesting consideration for defense. +3 Attuned Legendary(greatsword), but gives Advantage on mental saves, immunity to Charm, and resistance to Psychic damage. And I also love how Drow Matrons have a tentacle rod that when used consecutively on someone drops their movement/reaction/dex.  ;)

D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder / Re: 2E multiclassing in 3E
« on: November 28, 2018, 11:35:22 AM »
The more I think about it, the worse this idea is.
lol. That's not my goal, rather there have been a lot of attempts and you should look at the varying success of them.

Like Generics are vague and weaker than the standard options. PrCs like the Mystic Theurge cost too much unlike PrCs like Abjuration Champion. The Paladin, Ranger, Hexblade, Duskblade, Spelltheif, Bard, and so on can't compete with a PrC'ed full caster. Gestalted has been used as a tool to encourage usage of normally bad options by combing it with a good option. And whatever.

It doesn't matter if your idea isn't new or crosses into other ideas. You have almost nineteen years of R&D to work with on a fully completed project. If there is an answer on how to mash all of this together, it'd be now and not twelve years ago when people were still debating if the Sorcerer would ever get any real splat support. Whether you cast your idea as one of those things or another one is just going to help reliability for people to quickly understand it. The more important deal is what can you offer, maybe something that tries mitigate the weaknesses of those options either through addon homebrew or maybe something that tries to mix them to combine their strengths. Like I feel the -1 level tax just doesn't quite hit it if you're not wanting multiclass to always be the superior option, and you can observe reasoning for this through gesalted play just as easily as you can counter it with the Theurge. And so the answer of course lies somewhere in between and complicated. But it's not undefinable or terrible.

D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder / Re: 2E multiclassing in 3E

So, Steve could run a Fighter 6, Eve could run a Cleric 6, and Bleve could run a Wizard 1/Rogue 1/Multiclass 4, which would effectively act like a Rogue 5/Wizard 5 in terms of class features, and the chassis would be somewhere in between the two classes.
It sounds like Steve and Eve are going to pull the DM aside and ask why they can't be a gestated-1 like Bleve is. Like I'm sure the Fighter would trade a Feat and a fraction of BAB for 3rd level spells. Which is why gestalted is an all or none option.

Plus we already have customized hybrids. Like the Duskblade and Hexblade are really just views on what someone thought a Mage+Fighter should look like and given unique traits to increase their appeal. I think moving forward you’ll have a lot of things to cover. But if you draw ideas from all 3rd's current answers. Generics, PrCs, gestalt, and even the Homebrew projects that have tried to expand on them you can fast track some ideas and the problems or answers they might lead to.

So is this a gestalt rebalance (2e's multiclass) or refitting the idea that to balance "Tiers" you should combine a Wizard with a Rogue or a Dread Necromancer with a Crusader (2e's XP rates)?

An Opposed Check's odds are a little different than a simple check against a set value.

Quote from: Kitsune's table, updated by Sunic_Flames with the help of DavidL
+0: 47.5% win, 5% tie, 47.5% loss.
+1: 52.5% win, 4.75% tie, 42.75% loss.
+2: 57.25% win, 4.5% tie, 38.25% loss.
+3: 61.75% win, 4.25% tie, 34% loss.
+4: 66% win, 4% tie, 30% loss.
+5: 70% win, 3.75% tie, 26.25% loss.
+6: 73.75% win, 3.5% tie, 22.75% loss.
+7: 77.25% win, 3.25% tie, 19.5% loss.
+8: 80.5% win, 3% tie, 16.5% loss.
+9: 83.5% win, 2.75% tie, 13.75% loss.
+10: 86.25% win, 2.5% tie, 11.25% loss.
+11: 88.75% win, 2.25% tie, 9% loss.
+12: 91% win, 2% tie, 7% loss.
+13: 93% win, 1.75% tie, 5.25% loss.
+14: 94.75% win, 1.5% tie, 3.75% loss.
+15: 96.25% win, 1.25% tie, 2.5% loss.
+16: 97.5% win, 1% tie, 1.5% loss.
+17: 98.5% win, 0.75% tie, 0.75% loss.
+18: 99.25% win, 0.5% tie, 0.25% loss.
+19: 99.75% win, 0.25% tie, 0.00% loss.
+20 or higher: 100% win, 0% tie, 0% loss.
*With Opposed Checks, if there is a tie in rolled values than the person with the higher bonus goes first. Skills also do not automatically fail, or succeed, on a naturally rolled value unlike Attacks & Saves. Original Source

As you can see there is a definitive diminishing returns effect. The greater your advantage is then the less each point gives you and the less the modifier tiebreaker matters. So to produce an at least 60/40 odds then you need a bonus of at least 3 higher than your target does. 70/30 needs +5, 80/20 needs +8, 90/10 needs +12, and a 100% success rate requires a +20 or greater advantage.
