Dirty Trick Handbook III
« on: February 16, 2013, 02:33:27 PM »
I didn't place this in handbooks discussion (in addition to here) because it didn't have a matching Handbook thread. This is the third installment (Kuroimaken seemed cool with me taking this over earlier) since I don't feel like going back through the first two threads. If you are curious what has come before, check out my Dirty Trick Handbook Fixes.

I'll be updating the OP as we go. When this hits the character limit, I'll formally copy this to Handbooks if desired by the community.

I'll go first:

Spell Engine [SpC198] goof + circle magic + 9th level spells = all slots can prepare 9th level spells!

It seems that Spell compendium made a linguistic goof here. First it references 'prepared spells' then it says 'empty slots from a spell cast earlier' as if the previous prepared spells entry had referenced 'spell slots' instead, which it should. Now you can only swap equal slots despite free heightens. Perhaps one step away from a typo, but hey.

Powerstone Recharge

3 Full Rounds + 3 Psicraft checks + 3 AoOs drawn = undischarged powerstone.

Not errata'd, nor editted in the SRD.

how extreme is desirable? mild tricks allowed?

azure talent + psycarnum infusion = temp pp every round you can make a concentration check to get focus and then expend to trigger the feat... all day long.

anchor plane + mobile stronghold = flowing time planar trait (or any other desired trait) anywhere you go in the prime(apparently planar bubble can do this if you can convert/convince/befriend/etc a native of the appropriate location, as can acorn of far travel, and not limited to prime).

Tempest used that one on old CO recently.

I have argued the 1 ppoint "available" to re-obtain psi focus.
This only needs a 1 ppoint cognizance crystal, to work.
Changing not much of anything.
(there's another detail in this I'm blanking on at the moment)

Tauric, Symbiotic, Lycanthropy, Entomanothropy, and Petitioner uber cheese.

#1-4 allow infinite templates at +1-3 LA total, and #5 reduces the added creature's HD to 2 for a much lower ECL for #1-4, for a total ECL of 3, 4, or 5.

this gives you infinite stats, near-infinite special abilities, infinite feats, multiple actions per round, and lots of spellcasting.

minor trick- Chain, Repeat, or Twin Spell potions from a Master Alchemists allows you to 'cast' any level permanent spells on many creatures and objects for CHEAP!

There's probably even a way to do this w Epic Spells using some other spell reduced cheese

well, sure, it won't work if you expend all your power points or get drained down to 0, somehow. but until then. ^^

however, the cog crystal doesn't work with this at all.
