Golkonda knows everything Delphina just mentioned, and that in the wild they hunt in packs, again much like wolves. Though they make look draconic, they're barely more than big reptiles, and only just. They're roughly the same size as a fairly large dog, though they still seem capable of dishing out the hurt all the same.

"Well if they were helping me look for flowers, they wouldn't be helping to look for brigands and cutthroats, would they?"

They kind of look like brigands and cutthroats themselves, though no one accused the people of Winterhaven of being a beauteous people.

"Those're guard drakes. They're common pets, like domesticated wolves or hunting dogs. These men use them to catch wild animals and, around here, sometimes those shifty kobolds too."

"I was shaken up, but I know that I can't just let that terrible event control my life. Still, one can't be too careful, so I asked these gentlemen from town to escort me through the woods so any more of those nasty kobolds will have to think twice before bothering me." She kneels down and dusts off the ground a bit, then continues,  "I feel safe enough now to continue collecting my flowers, and there's supposedly a rare breed of flower that grows in the graves of dragons. That's why I'm all the way out here. Won't you help me look for sprouts?"

The party rests up and decides to head to the burial ground, investigating the link between Douven Staul's disappearance and strange goings-on in the region. On the way out of the cave, a satchel full of maps seems to be resting on the ground near the entrance to the cave, though no trace of their owner remains. You feel a faint crackle of static as you leave the kobolds' lair, and the whispers in your head seem to fade.

The burial ground doesn't seem terribly far, maybe a half-hour's trip maximum, and the path is well-marked. Clearly, Aanna had been prepared for this journey.

Upon arriving in the clearing where the map indicates the Dragon burial site rests, you notice a steep-sided crater seems to puncture the wilderness. Near the center of the depression, several humanoid figures cluster around a collection of bones. Two small, dragonlike creatures near the crater rim stand alert and stare at your direction, though they do not attack or appear immediately hostile. Standing near the humans is the young elf girl that the group encountered yesterday, Delphina Moongem. On her arm she carries a wicker basket with flowers peeking out from the top.

As you approach, she looks up and waves to you, smiling. "Why hello my friends! Thank you again for rescuing me yesterday. What brings you out so deep in the woods today?"

[D&D 4E] Eberron - The Maker's Crown / Maps
« on: December 14, 2011, 03:43:14 PM »
I'm going to try something new. Rather than post the map in every thread, I'll upload one map at a time in this thread, and just update it as the game moves along. We really don't need to keep a record of every single round, since we're just playing through the game.

So, each encounter or new area will have its map posted here. During encounters, I will do my best to update the current map when something significant happens, such as the start of a new round, though I'll try and update after every turn if possible. I may end up updated every couple of turns, depending on time constraints.

I'm not sure if the group came to a definitive decision on what to do, though it seems you're leaning toward the burial ground. I can move things along if that's the case. Besides that, everyone feel free to take a short rest, which as you may remember allows you to spend any needed surges to heal up. Just remember to tell me how many you've used.

"I think blowing it apart will have to suffice. Speaking of which, clean-up isn't part of the job, right? I think the kobolds ought to take care of that part."

4472
"No, no, you must be Jorvar! You're the spitting image! Why, Jorvar, what have you been doing with yourself these days?"

Bigsley clearly isn't paying attention to the excitement awakening in the bar.

And I was headed toward the park from the funeral to investigate the bizarre storm clouds, while Ziggy handled the issues going on at the Funeral.

Bigsley dozes off briefly before snapping back awake. He looks over at the closest dwarf and says, "Jorvar! Why, Jorvar Irongut, how are you m'boy? It's been ages, how is the clan doing?"

Of course, he couldn't quite tell that this couldn't be the dwarf he knew, seeing as how this was a completely different world.

I was unaware that we could just go out and find a plot, since so far options have presented themselves. I suppose I could instigate things a bit, but as my character isn't officially part of the guild yet, he couldn't start anything in an official capacity. He can still get mixed up in hi-jinks though.

Team Zombie has a bit more excitement to follow right now, though they're still not posting much more than than Team Booze.

The tiefling seems to daydream a moment, before entering into the conversation.
"Oh, the things I could do with defective rifles... Anyway, you certainly seem to be helpful, considering that there may well be a larger conspiracy going on under your nose. It almost seems as though someone wants things to escalate between you and Talrick. I suppose it could be coincidence, but I tend to err on the side of caution and it's kept me alive thus far."

Because it's been so long and it's not available for review here on these boards, I'm going to repost some of the relevant conversation from the original party's interaction with Eilian:

Quote
Once everyone has gathered at the corner table, Eilian leans forward to address the party.
"Ah, I see Bordrek has collected quite an ecclectic group this time. Well, my friends, dark times are ahead. Strange things are happening in the hills around this village. You are not the first that have been sent here. My last contact, Douven Staul, missed our last meeting, and I have grown worried. He discovered much of what it going on, but I don't know the bulk of it; Staul did not keep me fully in his confidence. I do know that he was searching the south for a piece of a dragon that is supposed to be buried there. He believed that something called the 'third sinister rib' was important, though he did not say why. That was the last information I received before he went searching for the dragon and disappeared."

"Ok fellas, we've got our man downstairs. Head on in." Kana motions toward the hatch and walks toward Dirk.

Hmm, that reminds me, I'm long over-due to add Eilian the Old to the Important NPCs post. :)
