Looking for Spell (3.5)
« on: August 09, 2017, 01:13:38 PM »
What are some good mid level (Spell level 3-5) and high level (Spell level 7-8) spells that effectively summon a construct you can ride in or at least use as cover? Also, about medium to large at the lower level and something much bigger at higher level? It doesn't necessary have to be a construct. Honestly I'm looking for something like the following. Forgive me if I'm missing something that can obviously be used and/or reflavored.

Eww Naruto

Well you can always reflavor Enlarge Person to be an aura such as that surrounding your body. Polymorph can do this as well if you want to push it.

Ive personally always liked flavoring heavy transformation effects like this. Growing dozens of feet tall has always felt a little, unheroic? At least for most characters, I prefer to keep their aesthetic and not have to have my hands tied for the sake of optimization.
Im really bad at what I do.
A+

Astral construct (a psionic power, not a spell) can do all sorts of funky shaping tricks.

Ah, come on man!
See, this is why I asked about flavor. Though what was that last part?

And yea, can't believe I didn't think about Astral Construct. I've betrayed my psionic way, I must go back to my roots.

Oh, wasn't there a third party psionics book with Astral Construct support?

Animate Dead on a big skeleton, build a houda inside of it, ride around in style. :D

so, question related to one of the answers...

if you go the astra construct route, how mega glass cannon (+1 lvl / 2 pp (17 to max) can you get at level one and where does it wear out?
