What mage items can a Magewright craft?
« on: October 22, 2018, 12:42:55 AM »
Magewrights in Eberron are supposed to be able to make minor magic items, but their spell list lacks the required spell for a lot of things. I found the following so far

Scrolls/potions/wands ect. of anything on their list
Metamagic rods
Raw +X bonus on armor or weapons (this, oddly enough, does not require any spell)
Slick Armor/Improved/Greater (Grease)
Helm of Comprehend Languages and Read Magic (Comprehend Languages and Read Magic)
Stone of Alarm (Alarm)
Eyes of the Eagle (clairaudience/clairvoyance)
Crystal Ball (Scrying)
Gem of Brightness (Daylight)
Sovereign Glue (Make Whole)
Amulet of Proof against Detection and Location (Nondetection)
Robe of Bones (Animate Dead)
Ring of Counterspells/Spell Storing (Imbue with spell ability)
Ring of Jumping/Swiming (no spell)
Ring of Mind Shielding (Nondetection)

ECS
Bag of Bounty (I think the already required dragonmark can supply the spell)
Prospector's Rod (Locate Object)
Speaking Stone (Whispering Wind, which a magewright gets natively even if the Dragonmark doesn't work for item creation)
Scrying Shard (Scrying)

I think I got everything in core and ECS. Anything of note (like something people would actually buy in quantity) they can craft besides that?

Nice details.

For being called a "crafter" its kinda funny (sad) they can't without help at first level .

It's a Commoner + the list + retrain the one class ability multiple times + stuff like what you've posted.

They can help someone else making items, contributing time and/or caster level and/or exp, etc.
They can use any number of the tricks on this guide :
http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?232822-The-Commoner-Handbook
... with a touch more synergy.
They can go to a town or city and have spellcasting services cast the spell, while the Magewright makes the rest of it.

They can make most generic skill booster items, and a few specifics in Bunkos.
With minimal investment they can make various psionic things.

The list itself, DavidWL took a look at back in the summer of '69, lost to incessant wotc board nukes.
