Vira nods, and then says "Yes I'll take something to drink as well." She didn't know how she was going to approach this, but at least one of the three would cooperate with her specifically.

"I'm afraid it's a little more complicated than that. Your perimeter guard is a tad overzealous - the only discernible intelligence we have from the last party guided by Bonnie's grace here is that they were taken by surprise amid screams of terror. Suggesting a surprise attack, no distinction on the ones involved."
:“Who was this party you speak of? I do not recall any of our fresh prisioners bearing Bonnie’s signs.”

:”We must show the world that we are serious in our endeavour. Those that provoke our borders shall pay for it.”

: “Mind you our guards may be a bit too much overzealous right now, they’re a bit rough around the edges working with what we have, still teaching them proper manners. It takes time.”

"And I would be remiss in my current responsibilities if I were not to ask what manner of outside threat would require such isolation."
:“The monsters that were kept in check by the Jóia Tiara of course. They have been rampaging accross the kingdom since the queen fell and take many shapes.”

:”Plus plenty of self-called ‘heroes’ looking for an opportunity to stake any of us and loot our treasures.”

: “There’s been a big surge of opportunistic raiders and bandits thinking they have free reign when there’s seemingly no proper authority around the kingdom anymore.”

"Then I thank you for the offer, Baron, and shall gladly take you up on it.  I believe this is the first time that we have met in person? And yourself, Duchess. But Fuerme... how long has it been?"

: “Some fifty years I think? Feels like last night. I was you secretary, but misted away when that party of paladins showed up. No hard feelings I believe? I honestly believed you would be able to take them on by yourself.”

"Oh hooo, a soiré you say? Well now, I could certainly be persuaded to hold off on beating ya'll senseless for your crimes here with a good party."

:“Crimes? But we did our best to protect the people of Portimão! If not for us this place would be in ruins!”

: ”Is that a challenge, angel? Because a duel can be arranged. Pick your weapon of choice, I’ll see you at my feet all the same.”

:“Now now, nice party first, then let’s see if you’re still in the mood for fighting.”

"I'll take you up on that offer, I find myself parched."

"Yes I'll take something to drink as well."

: ”Excellent. ”

Akhram claps his hands and in a few moments a dwarf woman, human man, an orcish lady and an androgynous elf, all looking middle-aged, are escorted inside the room by the maids that welomed you, wearing expensive-looking clothes and smiles, including silk scarves. Akhram gently pulls their scarves and exposes their necks to the party’s own vampires. There’s some light signs of bites in their skins but they hold their heads high in expectation, never dropping their smiles.

"My very presence here is due to hearing word of you & your ruthless band bringing harm to innocents and forcing your rule over those here by way of might, not right. Very good word, might I add, lassie."

The angel growls in excitement at the challenge. "OOOH YEAH NOW! Only having to talk two of your down instead of all three would be way easier here! I can already feel you're thinking the same as me! Come on ya bloated corpse! It'd no doubt be the first real fight of your life, and your last!" He takes a long drink from his flask then tosses it aside, it not going very far attached to his pants by a chain, and clearly tensed up and readied himself for a fight.

Hector casually approached the dwarven lady. She was just a smidgen taller than his current form; thus, he reached for her face, stroking it almost in an act of kindness, grasping her hair and whispering that she kneel a bit for his benefit.

There was something almost caring in the motion as he took sustenance. It wasn't apologetic in the least, for he was a monster. And yet it lacked the cruelty one might have expected of such an act. He took slow, delicate sips, Savoring each gulp. Rather than take everything in a single bite, he pulled back, licking his lips, a satisfied expression in his face, before leaning again, briefly licking the open wound before biting once more. And again, and again.

On the whole, Hector does not actually take that much blood from the woman. He smiled, stroking her face again and thanking her for her service.

"If you absolutely must quarrel now, please do so where you won't spoil a perfectly good meal." He briefly chastised his companion.

Once he was finally done, he turned to the other vampires gathered.

"I can see that you genuinely care for Portimão's well-being, and yet such a zealous stance is bound to ruin trade in the long run. If you fancy yourselves rulers, surely there must be something you can do to ensure that the mortals under your care do not suffer. That way, even the most stalwart of heroes would not seek your demise." Hector would know, he hasn't had to fend off a paladin in a dog's age. "How DID Portimão thrive before your arrival? Surely such a state of affairs did not happen overnight."

So strange, and so well trained--but Carnelian approaches the human man. Perhaps not the most interesting of the lot, but by far the most nutritious--and with someone like the Baron around, being fully satiated was ideal... as was not looking like a glutton.  It was no different to appreciating a good meal and showing respect to the hosts. She didn't drag it out, however, wanting to focus on the matter at hand.

"Ah, paladins... no matter how much I try to move on from the past, they still come knocking almost every time. It's like even they don't believe that I could have a change of heart,"  she said, shaking her head and readjusting her sleeves. "The guards you have might be strong, but they will certainly attract that kind of attention if travellers wishing to visit get attacked."
