Without speaking to anyone about what she is doing, Gwaedwen uses Morphic Ritual to turn Speed of the Fallen (3HD) into Enervating Star (3HD).

If she can complete the 5 minutes for the morph uninterrupted, she immediately sends the Enervating Star 30ft away towards the other voices, or, if that illuminate the party's scouts, to the side instead.

I think Divine Retribution isn't bad as a general idea, it just needs a curated spell list. The Adept might make for a better starting point, as it has a bigger focus on divine damage spells like Scorching Ray and Lightning Bolt. The Warmage spell list and evocation-heavy cleric domains like the Fire Domain could be used to pad out spells above level 5. Or you could hand out a pseudo-Quicken Spell, so that weak low-level evocations stay relevant and work better with the action economy of mid-levels onward.

3
Minor nitpick:
Crusader => Divine Retribution:
"and can only target an opponent who have dealt damage that was delayed by your delayed damage pool."
(insert part in bold for a complete sentence)

Spells known/prepared are undefined. So Divine Retribution Crusaders can spontaneously pick any Cleric spell as needed?

Dorfmatratze - German for "village mattress", for those games where GMs use German as Dwarven
Oh mein Gott! That is the literal word-by-word translation, yes - but the translation of the actual meaning would need to go into the M-Rated board (a woman of loose morals well acquainted with the men of her neighborhood).

As the party gets ready to depart, Gwaedwen first catches her cow and wanders off some 500 yards away from the village - what she is about to do isn't pretty for the pain empathy of traumatized flonhas, and mistreated flonha are one of those soft spots she has in her heart.

Several minutes later she re-appears at the trade post, her dress straining against her bulkier figure and larger bosom, two small horns breaking through her hair, and her demeanor not appearing very cute at all anymore. Behind her she drags the carcass, its throat mutilated ans as gory as Gwaedwens lips. With the sweetest smile she can manage in her new state, she offers the flesh of the slaughtered cattle as a parting gift and asks that every flonha eats their fill of it - especially the children.

Proposed marching order:

Advanced Point:
- Adzil

Front:
- Stern Protector

Secondary Front:
- Gwaedwen (too squishy for front row, but needs to get there fast)
- Promise Keeper (aura-like effects work best from a central position)

Middle:
- Myrddin (squishiest)

Rear:
- Rhedeg (ranged attacker, good senses, can hold up in melee in case of an attack to the rear)

Unassigned:
Adawolf (no stats yet)

Gwaedwen looks up at Adzil to say something, but when he so loudly proclaims his support she keeps silent. She probably couldn't make herself heard with her soft voice anyway.

Instead, she walks over to the table with the papers and goes on her tip-toes to take a closer look at the map.

"My magic can run its course only a few days, before it needs to be renewed with another sacrifice. If they travel by foot speed, and we travel by foot speed - anyone can figure out how long we'll be on the way?"

She also looks at Adzil and Adawolf.

"By the way, are you trained in hunting? I'd need something at least dog-sized every day to keep up my magic - or would need it less often, with larger prey."

When Gwaedwen notices Promise's attempts to not appear so intimdating to the tiny flonha girl, she turns her head around and sends her a warm smile upwards in silent recognition. If the llethu woman allows her to, she also strokes her wrist and palm, showing that Gwaedwen trusts Promise not to suddenly snatch her hand and hurt her.

She turns her attention again around to Isigqila.

"You don't have to worry that we will spread your story around among the local rumor mill. This is very helpful information, telling us more about the involvement of the Living Sun Wardens, and what they have possibly gleaned so far of the plans to free the flonha slaves."

Gwaedwen smiles warmly and brushes her long hair forward again.

"And you don't have to feel sorry, Isigqila. Going into the lion's den of Fracha was very brave, and is what has enabled us to go on this mission in the first place."

If Gwaedwen was tense when she first met Promise Keeper, the sight of the even larger Maiden of the Coins fills her with outright dread. She slowly inches backwards, her eyes locked on the large llethu woman, behind Promise who now seems like the lesser threat and had earlier offered her protection.
She relaxes a bit when the Maiden announces her association with the flonha abolitionists and moves a bit to the side to be visible to her again, but she can't fully shake off her deeply ingrained fear of the giants who have mistreated her for so long.

She turns her attention around to Isigqila and nods to him.

"There is no need to threaten me with fines. I like money, of course, everyone does, but for me this isn't about gold and glittering trinkets - for me, it is personal. I'm not a commodity, and anyone who treats as me or other flonha as one and doesn't make it here, will suffer a death so gruesome that it makes them wish they had been put under the justice of the Accordance."

There is a odd dissonance between the natural soft sweetness of the petite flonha girl's body and voice, and the feverish sadism her eyes, words and wardrobe advertise.

"How have you made your escape? That might tell us a lot about how they are keeping their slaves captive - and what weakpoints they have since discovered and especially secured against.

And when did they have more guards up, while on the road, or while camping? I want to hit them while they are tired, hungry and easy prey not expecting an attack from the outside. To bring all the more flonhas home, and reap a bloody harvest from the slavers."

Gwaedwen relaxes her stance a bit as Promise bothers to use her obscure language, and her nervous smile broadens. There is still some uneasiness, and she doesn't pull her hair forward again, but the petite flonha seems a lot of friendlier towards her 'Big Sis'.

"I prefer to deal with those who mistreat me and my people myself. Slowly... and painfully." A mad grin appears on Gwaedwen's face, a sharp contrast to her soft appearance. "But if I can't, I will get back to you, Promise."

She looks at the other two new arrivals, Rhedeg and Adzlil, and nods towards them as she evaluates them. Big and brawny, outwardly the opposite of the petite flonha.

"Nowadays, I serve no one but Drancedigaeth. Rather than to serve any slaver again in life, I see to it that they will serve with their deaths."

Gwaedwen visibly tenses when the tall llethu woman enters. She strokes all her long red hair behind her back and keeps facing Promise Keeper, as if she were purposefully trying to keep her hair out of the giantesses reach.

She puts on a strained smile, somewhere between distrustful and appeasing.

"Gwaedwen is my name. Your stance is refreshing - the big people who have kept me were much less scrupulous about what makes them 'masters' of me."

D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder / Re: Eldritch Blast vs Hold Person
« on: February 25, 2024, 08:12:23 AM »
There are specific rules governing Warlock invocations and eldritch blast - and they do actually have somatic components. From the class write-up in Complete Arcane, under "Weapon and Armor Proficiency":

Because the somatic components required for warlock
invocations are relatively simple, a warlock can use any of
his invocations while wearing light armor without incurring
the normal arcane spell failure chance. However, like arcane
spellcasters, a warlock wearing medium or heavy armor or
using a shield incurs a chance of arcane spell failure (all
invocations, including eldritch blast, have a somatic component).

A paralyzed creature can only undertake mental actions, so Eldritch Blast is out.

Gwaedwen turns around and looks at Myrddin. A male flonha, but not a local villager, not with all that expensive gear. And he was complimenting her on her tenderness, while she was at one of the few things where she doesn't mind to appear soft.
The ritualist stems her fists in her hips, puts one of her Boots of Stomping in front of her and pouts, trying to give her best impression of a don't-mess-with-me glare.

"These people have been through a lot - broken, abused, mistreated. I know, because I have been through the same. Do not think that I am always so... bah... k i n d."

It's rather adorable when the frail petite young woman tries to act tough, especially when she opens her mouth and reveals her naturally soft-spoken voice.

Easternham makes Gwaedwen somehow both happy and unhappy - a place where her brethren and sisters who share her fate can finally find peace and healing, but many of those brethren and sisters are also hollow broken shells, and may never recover like Gwaedwen did, their resolve steeled to pay it back to the slavers.

Before she makes her way to Isigqila at the trading post, she makes a visit to Easternham itself, to buy a cow directly off the flonha farmers and arrange stabling until she leaves, to directly funnel some welcome money into Easternham's economy, to help it to be a place by flonha for flonha, where they can be free and not under the thrall of others.
Her cutesy charme currently unencumbered by ritualwork, she makes the best of it. She chats with some women and children as she comes across them, trying her best to cheer them up, regale them with news from the world outside the village and anecdotes from her adventuring life. Especially to the younglings, Gwaedwen tries her best to be an exemplar of what they could become one day, if they set their mind to it. (She leaves out the details of bloody sacrifices and ripping the throats of slavers out, that might upset those folks.)

She eventually makes her way to the trading post. The petite and soft-spoken flonha redhead wouldn't seem out of place among the villagers, weren't it for her sense of fashion that screams "attitude", with a lot of black and skulls and spikes.

dual progression (broken link)
Someone has copied the handbook to a wiki: https://coboard.fandom.com/wiki/Tools_for_Fochlucan_Lyrist_Builds

The user who has created and edited the wiki page has the same username as the Gleemax user (Iaimeki), so it is probably an accurate copy.

I heard the Wayback might get shutdown in the future?
Where do you have this information from? I am a regular donor to the Internet Archive, and I am not aware of any such plans.

Homebrew and House Rules (D&D) / Re: It's a Monk
« on: December 26, 2023, 09:12:28 AM »
I really like it. This is a very flavourful rework that greatly expands the things a monk can do - and the healing/buffing options also bring the reworked monks more in line with the things divine spellcasters can do, but in a different way.

I think you should be able to do pressure strikes and build up resonance through ranged attacks with special monk weapons (i.e. shuriken, thrown sai) - that would greatly improve versatility and give something relevant to do in rounds where the monk can't get into melee range.

---

Double Mantra and Triple Mantra have a table entries, but not feature description.

Quote
Healing Hands
Grade: Student Pressure Strike
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will half (harmless)
If your attack hits, roll for damage normally. Instead of taking damage, the subject heals that amount of damage.
Unlimited out-of-combat HP healing for free may be a bit much. Other cheap options for that either cost money (wands) or have a limit for how much HP they can heal (Dragon Shaman Vigor Aura). Maybe a percentage cap like Vigor Aura, or a daily HP pool like Lay On Hands?
