I beat Dark Souls! :T

Maybe Dark Rolls would be a better name, given Kalameet...

High five!

Of course now that I know you have that game I have to figure out when and where to invade you.  No one is safe.
Mudada.

PSO2 x FFXIV collaboration is official.

I MIGHT have just had a nerdgasm.

Too bad that usually only translates into "HERE'S SOME OUTFITS YOU CAN SELL YOUR KIDNEYS TO BUY".

Dear person hacking DSII: of all the things, why did you hack yourself the ability to consume healing items rather than something more direct?

Looks like the Wii U is about to die......

Nintendo is denying that one.

On the other hand, there's some stuff about their NX console leaking today too so that might be a thing next year.

To be fair, they WOULD deny that. They haven't even officially announced their new console, so they still want people to buy the old one.

And I'm pretty sure they denied stopping production on their last few consoles too, until it was obvious.
I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.

No, they didn't. Gamecube stopped production before we even heard the name Wii, and the Wii itself kept being produced some time after the Wii U launch.

In actual true news, Nintendo's stocks go up 8% as their mobile app gets one million downloads in three days. Nintendo also announced that their next mobile app will actually feature one of their famous characters, so it seems like this was just testing the waters.

I got invaded by the same guy four times over the course of an hour... I started running off cliffs. Wasn't gathering souls, and I was just there for medals, so I'm not going to waste time on a parry-specialising Ricard cosplayer after the first two. <_<

Both a Tabula Rasa and a Goldrim drops for me before entering Cruel. Neat stuff  :cool

It's been forever since I touched Steam for actual gaming purposes. I need to rectify this...someday.

Pokemon Go will allow players to set up their own Gyms in certain real-world locations and then fight each other for their control.

Your phone will vibrate when it detects a pokemon nearby.

Plus the usual leveling and evolution. Seems like there will also be "poke-stores" around for you to stock up on pokeballs, and you can also buy poke eggs that'll hatch after a certain number of steps. I predict you'll need to pay real money for advanced balls as well.

People have been screaming for a pokemon MMO for decades. Seems like it's finally coming.

Also Pokkén Tournament outsold Street Fighter V in Japan.

They're supposedly trying to make places of historical or cultural interest where such "poke-stores" and gyms will be as well as where you can get the eggs.

It also seems evolving your pokemon is based on catching multiples of the same one rather than doing battle to gain exp?

So out of the Humble Bundle 6 most of them are turn based strategy games (w/e the genre is called). The Mech game wasn't the best, pretty lame, low graphics, complicated stats, etc. Shadowrun isn't too bad but it's online-only and fuck em.

Oceanhorn was just as great as the reviews said. It could use a little fine tuning on the controls but if you like Zelda you'll love this simplified rip off. Best part is all the cut scenes default to skipable and intro lore appears as a message at the top of the screen while playing. Yeahee! Totally worth picking up.

The show stealer, or the one with the most bitching to be had, is Magicka 2. The humor is alright, it just keeps making self parodies & references everyone else has already done but they got the extra mile and actually give you chainsaws (and apparently guns). The magic system is definitely something that deserves an honor mention. You have six spell types mapped to Q, W, E, A, S, & D and you can tap up to five of them and then choose one of four ways to cast it.

Some elements don't work together, some murder you if you try to use it, some combine and make even more elements to play with. The system is exceptional in that you get a lot of choice in what you could do and at the start you'll find your self overwhelmed in trying to think of button combinations to cast the spell you need. But then you'll just fall into a trend. Like A-R-S-E+3 (srsly arse) if you have the blue birds bound to 3 the combo will freeze and rape everyone not immune to it. Hell you can even teleport out of it to start laying some ranged murder.

But it's not to say the combo wins the game. Magicka 2 is fucking impossible in terms of difficulty. Ramping up from how is the beam missing in your first fight (pro tip, hold the right mouse button and a beam lasts a few seconds and can be aimed!) to here is a guy immune to three elements and regenerates his entire 50k+ health bar in about 10 seconds and he's immune to ARSEing around by like the 4th area. The game is so murderous that even with a trainer running for infinite HP you'll still constantly die thanks to common enemies having one shots and knockback throwing you off the screen.

Add to this four people online and murder each other with their spells just as easily as they can murder them selves and you'll have a TPK clusterfuck 90% of the time. But then you'll land a pairing with the people that can kick out something like ARSE circle, perfectly aligned shield, mines of murder, an actual spell* or four, and the steambeam of doom (which alone takes SFQFQAA+right click in order) all completed just as an enemy walks on screen.

*Oh yeah, and speaking of actual Spells. Very specific combinations can be cast using a 5th button for some very nice effects like raise ally, teleport, birds of if you wet them they freeze and die, raise skeletons, and generally just overpower supercharged versions of your spells. And there are like two dozen to memorize, good luck!

tl;dr: Oceanhorn is awesome, consider Magicka 2 next time it goes on a 90% steam sale.

The "mech game" is still early access so take that under consideration.

Also, there are two separate Shadowrun franchises represented, fyi.  Shadowrun Returns is a single player only game that doesn't require an internet connection.

I should try the Returns one then, the online-one has some potential but it's irritating because, at least at the start, you technically run the missions in one-player mode but it forces you into an online hub and turn based games like that take forever without someone going afk to take the trash out.

I didn't know the mech game was new, maybe it'll get some clean up and streamline down. Unfortunately for it the game type consumes a lot of time and it has a lot of games to complete against. But then again, nothing honestly lands in a Bundle until it's worth selling the game for ten cents. Either to generate interest, or like Oceanhorn everyone that owns an iphone already has a copy.
