An explosion rocks the Star Saber as Aiakos enters the hanger bay. You can see the few larger ships take off, leaving you with a derelict ship your previous crew had recovered during a raid as the last ship in the bay with a hyperdrive. The mechanics still hadn't finished many of the repairs but she'll have to do. So far everything had gone according to the hastily planned escape, you just hope Tarn has managed to get the tractor beam knocked out of commission too or this will be a short trip for you and the others.

The pack of mutinous crew that were on on your tail after setting the charge to knock out the ships weapons, have not yet found you in the hanger bay.

The ship tries to power up but then Woowoowoooowooooooooo. It is then you notice an odd astromech that you flew past to get to the main controls. It has completely disassembled the power control panel and continues to pull things apart even as you gaze in its direction.

A droid on the cieling, tinkering with a number of wires leading into the hardware, wheedles and boops out swears in binary.

"MY ASSISTANT AND I ARE DOING OUR DAMNDEST TO DO OUR JOBS AND GET YOUR SPACE GARBAGE OPERATIVE. WE'RE WORKING WITH SUBSTANDARD PARTS ON A DERELICT VESSEL WITH SHOT CONTROLS AND POWER MANAGEMENT."

Returning to its work, the foul-mouthed droid began swapping around the items on his multitools before taping down the wires and sparking them together.

"SO PLEASE, CHANGE YOUR TAMPON AND BAR THE DOORS."

Taken aback that binary could even be used to convey such profanity, Aiakos' hand almost reaches to the blaster pistol. Almost. Remembering her situation she decides she has nothing to lose by postponing dismantling the droid for a bit and decides just to frown at it menacingly for now. If your self-preservation protocols haven't been wiped off by old-age and crappy maintenance, you WILL get this rust bucket flying or you'll find yourself the owner of a few new holes that weren't there by design. Pretty soon this hangar will be crawling with 'shoot first, sell the scrap later' kind of guys.

Between the two droids working, the power to the controls will still take a moment to finish without further assistance. Looking out the cockpit's viewport you see the doors to the hanger slide open and several crew with blasters in hand enter slowly looking, this way and that, for you. They have not spotted you at the controls yet.

The mutinous pirates do not appear to have seen you in the cockpit. The repairs need more time or more effort to be completed, and it is only a matter of time before the group searching the hanger decides to board the derelict scout ship you are on to search for their former Captain. You find you will either need a diversion, a bold action against them, or maybe fate is on your side and you can try to fire up the ship again and pilot her out of the hanger.

Brap!

The blaster bolt emerges from the barrel and strikes one of the  crew blowing him from his feet. The rest scramble for cover among crates and large ship parts and return fire at the barrels direction. None appear to have notices Aiakos in the cockpit as she directed the bolt buying some valuable time for the droid to continue its repairs.

BRAP!

Aiakos sends a blaster bolt from the other direction emerging from the stack of crates nearby and lifts another from the deck, a smoking burn mark on it's back. The crew return fire at both locations. One of their shots strikes the fuel container and send it rocketing to the hanger's ceiling to land burning among a salvaged proton bomb rack...

As soon as the ship comes to life Aiakos grabs a hold of the throttle and stick, steering it toward the hangar exit. So long, suckers! she triumphantly mocks the remaining crewmen as the canopy slides shut.

The ship lifts from the deck and shakily glides toward the edge of the hanger, the stabilizers need a lot of work. One crew member points to the ship and barks an order to another as he opens fire. The subordinate races across the hanger floor to the control room in hopes of closing the doors.

The small ship shoots through the closing doors just as the hanger is engulfed in an explosion from the proton bomb that ignites from the fire.

Only when you go to begin calculating the jump to hyperspace do you realize that the nav-computer has been removed. The jump will need to be manually done. You also realize that the astrogation data is 2 years old.

As the cobbled together astromech completes the calculations, it signals the coordinates to the ships computer and the small vessel's hyperdrive spools up to make the jump. The stars smear and bend in front of you as the blue tunnel of hyperspace surrounds your view.

You are not traveling long before collision warnings sound, the hyperdrive begins to fail, and the ship is ripped from hyperspace. Other alarms begin to go off as other systems begin to fail as well. All around you a massive debris field, like the site of a massive battle drifts along. a piece of a blown apart droid fighter rebounds off the ship, jolting the ship.

A large chunk of debris moves into the ships path and in the attempt to avoid it, Aiakos slams the controls to one side and down. The maneuver avoids a front collision with the cockpit's canopy but the garbage smashes into the rear half of the ship. Sparks fly from the controls and the ship fails to respond to it's pilot.

The control panels and displays light up with life again showing all the damage and failures. Engines are still offline, so maneuverability is still very limited. Aiakos blasts away with the ships cannon andit works for a time until, blowing a larger chunk heading their way, it becomes two slightly smaller chunks that collide with the ship is separate locations. The weapon suddenly stops firing as power fails. Aiakos begins to feel weightless in her seat beginning to lift as gravity reaches zero. Another alarm goes off on the panel showing that climate controls are also down.

Reaching out with the force, the larger scrap hunks flying toward the ship are diverted. Aiakos even is able to push off piece larger than her ship to move the ship along a course.

Aiakos slowly guides the fighter towards the large wreck. I think we should take a look. Maybe we find something to help us get out of here. A new ship preferrably.

Aiakos pilots the ship using only the maneuvering thrusters. She expertly veers around debris and gets very close to the large hulk but a few chunks collide in her path and with no way to get clear in time the small ship smashes straight through. The entire ship goes dark with power failing to everything and the ship drifts at high speed in a flat spin toward the rotating hulking debris.

The small scoutcraft slams sidelong into the much larger debris. Colliding with a plugged up whole already in the ship. The crash dislodges much of the debris but still stops the smaller vessel which is held locked in the debris pile.

As you recover from the crash, you notice the ships systems are completely disabled. With life support gone; air recycling, climate control, and gravity generation are all out. Out of part of the cockpits viewport, which is now slowly becoming rimmed with frost, you can see the interior of the ship you collided with. Although dark and without power you make out that this is a small hanger that had been ripped away from a much larger ship. Some of the crates floating inside the hanger among other rubble contain the symbol for the Confederacy of Independent System from during the recent Clone War.

AS the ship comes to a halt Aiakos engages the pressurizing system of her flight suit. Well, looks like it's end of the line for this piece of junk. We'll have to find something else flyable around here. Good thing we crashed into what seems to be a warship hangar. M8, you don't happen to have a flashlight, do you ?

As the hatch opens and exposes you are violently yanked out of the ship as what is left of the internal simulated atmosphere is expressed. When you come to a floating rest, upside down and facing your ship you see several flashes of laser fire out among the debris field at a distance. You are not alone out here.

M8 was blasted across the large hanger and banged part way up the stairs before coming to a stop, floating sideways. Magnetizing the droid secures itself to the floor and moves toward the crashed ship you both vacated from.

Back inside, M8 uses power from it's secondary battery to power the cockpit's communications systems. Attempting to intercept the communications going on during the battle. It broadcasts it to Aikos' helmet.

"...hit! Blast it! It's bad! They got my engines!"
"Break Left! Break Left! Get out of there, I'll engage!"

is all that is heard shortly before the channel is severed when one party if destroyed. The lightshow in the distance goes on for a moment more and then ceases. When the spin of the wreckage comes back around so you can see that spot of the battle, you find that a small ancient freighter is approaching. It slows and disappears from view but returns again after making a pass around the wreckage.

Then moves out of view again.

Getting a good enough glimpse at the freighter to be reasonably sure it looks nothing like any ship that was on the Star Saber, Aiakos sighs with relief. Looks like it's not our former friends. We might just be in luck. Can you contact that freighter ?

"Bwaboop beet beetlboob wooop boo" The droid issues as it continues to access the comms on the scout ship. The droid sends out a hail and a moment later you hear in your helmet comm, as M8 patches it through, "Well hello there. Having some trouble with your ship?" a male voice greets you over the channel.

Aiakos is looking around and in the upper viewport of what must be the control room of the hanger bay she sees sudden flashes of light that could only mean blasterfire. Among the rubble in the hanger little lights blink on and the rubble shifts as several droids extricate themselves from the tangle.

Throught eh darkness, the glowing eyes of the newly activated droids are hard to miss. Aiakos decides to not waste the element of surprise, so she unholsters her blaster rifle and lets loose a shot. FU, we have company. Forget the comms and get back here

In the instant of light from the laser blast you see it strike true and blast away, reducing it to parts.

Responding to the call, M8 cuts the connection and moves out through the rubble. After clearing the scout ship, the droid disengages the magnetic lockdown it has and presses off to float up to the window to the control room.

"Bwat bwiddelboop weep dwoop!" the droid says into Aiakos' helmet.

The other battle droid the extracted itself from the rubble pile pushes off and floats up to the catwalk near M8 and takes a shot at Aiakos. The shot goes way wide and scorches the hull of the crashed scout ship behind her.

Aiakos sees a doorway begin to be forced open under M8's floating position. Out of the forced portal emerges a super battledroid into the light. Another floats out of a hallway now seen in the light and opens fire with it's wrist blasters at Aiakos.

A panel opens on M8 and a tubular shaped object pops out. It turns this on the battle droid outside the window and it emits a laser blast this bores a hole into the B1 Series droid destroying its processors.

The remaining super battledroid opens fire but it's slight spin to its floating causes it to send blaster bolts in every direction but Aiakos.

As Aiakos floats up to the upper walkway and comes into sight of the control room above through the viewport, she sees the fire fight. A battledroid must be off to her left shooting at two sentients taking cover outside a hole in the ships hull.
