As you file in, you see a large oval table, with two chairs on either side, at the end of the room, you see Al Kazim, sitting with a very serious look, with both legs crossed above the table, resting, with both hands behind his head. There is a Cane on the table beside him. Zepher is sitting cross legged on the floor to his left, in complete silence with a blank expression. The other Gnome is to his right, standing as if to attention. Kazim himself is a very lean Gnome, with blond spiked hair, he has silvery white eyes, and only by moving them, do you notice the silver ring as it moves.

As you sit, you notice the slouched Master, sit to attention, and then turn to each of you and nod.

He then beckons the male Gnome over. With a dry cough "Ahi, how many expedition members did I ask to be beckoned?". With a swift, clear reply, "One Hundred Sir, of the finest arcanists, adventurers and warriors on the entire continent". Kazim then touches Ahi' elbow, and a shocking burst erupts from the hand, electrocuting Ahi and causing him to fall to the floor in pain. "Since when is one hundred FOUR!" "Sorry for that display, it would seem that my underlings where not confident enough to accomplish the task of aquiring such a large number of extraordinary people, such as yourselves" "According to my files on you, you are a very 'mixed bag' indeed, Arcanist, Ranger, Clergy man and of course, a Keeper"
"Hmm mister duboise, you seem rather... Alone would'nt you say? Being of your field, you would have an 'Assistant or two?"
Chuckling to himself "Or you mister Trink-" He stands and looks deeply in Trinkets eyes, then his eyes dart all around your being. "Interesting, Fascinating, an Air Gnome, Ha this is a rare treat indeed" He gives a small bow and then resumes sitting.

"Enough games then, the 'Meat' of the conversation as it were; I have discovered a large burst wave of arcane energy, the burst is very continuous, travelling faster than any known magics known; it seems to morph, change, grow at will. Its effects are non existant, a light show if you will. An invisible light show. It emmanates from an uncharted dwarvern colony in the north east, miles off the coast of Lutelormar, and only Dwarvern military vessels can procede to get within reach of it. I have a dwarvern vessel in the harbour, waiting at once to take us to the colony, travel will be three weeks, regardless of Captain Sword-Shatter' 'noise'. He is extremely experienced and can get us there in two, but unfortunately ships just arent fast enough, yet" He adds with a smile at the end. "The task mentioned that other members of the Arcane Order will be present; Unfortu--" "They Will Not Be--" As soon as the words leave Zephers lips, Kazim' hand reaches his cane and with an almighty wack, clubs Zepher on the head. Calmly afterwards Kazim Continues. "-- Present, and neither will the payment afterwards, It is now, directly upfront, Five thousand gold now, five thousand on your return, Each"
He pulls out a bag, and tips onto the table five bulging sacks, thudding and indenting the table as they land outside the bag and hit the table.
"Gentlemen, the decision is yours, and if you have any questions, I will answer them" Kazim then leans back into his chair.

Steady as she goes, ready

The door to the conference room opens. "Intrude" a loud, clear voice booms from within, echoing around the hall, as the two Gnomes hurriedly rush in.

Ahh Yeah. Also the group has just officially met.

SirP: Flip seems to have given you a Platinum piece wrapped in the cloth.

You follow Flips very accurate directions, weaving in and out of back streets, until you are on the main market street. You feel a familiar feeling in a pocket instantly, snatching back to find a childs hand in your pockets. The child just looks at you in shock before running off. Continuing on, there are stalls on both sides of this street reaching up, into the buildings themselves, with streamers and cloth slides, sending items down, and people standing underneath collecting coinage. after breaking through the other side of the street, through crowds of all sorts, Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, an odd Elf or so, you find your self with a statue to your right, people crowding over it partying, with bards All over, playing in a synchronised orchetra of sorts. Opposite you see it, the Civic building.

Walking over you see a stunning female Gnome (Cha 18), hiding her hair under a red cap, with a silver badge fastened to it, which you recognise as a Hem-Ahrin Soldiers Badge, (Think Guards are recruits, all Soldiers as effective corporals) which would make her effectively a War Magus. You also notice the lack of a brooch, dignifying that she Is a sorceror.

"Hello there, you must be... Trinket" As she clicks her fingers

Another Gnome bursts through the door "Ah that must be the last, quickly come. Now" The male gnome beckons you inside.

Inside the large circular building are paintings all around the wall, depicting different events, looking up, you see a very small sword like item, high in the center cieling, hanging down, seemingly sheathed.

You are guided by the Gnomes, from which the female identifies herself as Zepher, quietly of course, over to a small group of people on the far side.

All:
"Gentlemen" The male Gnome nods, and then walks over to the bench on the other side, sitting next to the gobsmacked cleaner, who give each other a strange look, and then look at the group.

Yeah, was AFK during the weekend and I was in a bit of a 'woah whats occuring' mood when I started posting again

Linklord: The guard waves over to the gatehouse, and the gate is opened. from there he leads you over to a door, and once through, you notice it to be a barracks, off duty guards milling about, with some now standing up, adjusting armour and weapons. "You heard me, Captain Darius says we are needed central, when he gives the signal its time to take the statue, and open a way to the port. Ha the coot is getting grumpy he said"
The guard then ushers you over to a set of stairs, and downwards leads to a long corridor.
On the other end another guard is sitting by a desk, organising some guards "Captain Darius said what? Whatever"
You are then lead onto the street, a huge crowd instantly in front of you. The guards start to swat at bards and people in merryment all around you, pulling you out and pointing other to a set of stairs where a Gnome stands. As you walk over another Gnome appears from the door, with a red cap on their head.

Innabinder: The guard guides you past the gate, taking you through a doorway on the left, opening to an empty barracks. He guides you over to a set of stairs leading down, you are then taken down a long corridor.
On the other side you see the other barracks is empty, but with people on the outside pushing up against the glass, a bard here and there, a huge crowd. "Bloody bards, cant stop them once there started" As he pulls out a truncheon as he opens the door, instantly batting people around, opening a clean path. Over the way you see a figure moving to a set of steps, where a smaller figure, a Gnome appears, and then another from the door by the time you reach the steps, around the same time; The guard pushing you further. As the Gnome with the red cap cap speaks he walks off.

Inna,Link: "Hey there, you must be here to see Master Al Kazim aswell, Follo--" "--Ow me actually" As the male Gnome cuts in "Follow Me please" As he walks other to the door, still open, leading you in. As you walk in a Dwarf barges past. "Mornin" He grunts as he goes. The door opens up into a large open building. The unnanounced Gnome guides you over to a bench on the far side, were a man sits, a cleaner to one side mopping over the same piece over and over, watching the man who has what appears to be a dagger in his hand; made of sand.

geniussavant: Two figures walk past the Dwarf as he leaves, then walk up over to you, guided by the male Gnome.

Inna, gnenius,Link: "Mister Ethan? these two are also waiting for Master Kazim, I hope you will not be kept long, and please, he knows you are waiting, he will call you in" He walks off, giving the cleaner a funny look as he goes. He heads around the corner "Just one more, a Gnome apparently, does your Master Req--" "No" "I see"

Anyone seen Link or binder?
This part of the story is the odd part, syncing up characters to one place in a ten minute time frame.

12
geniussavant: The cleaner over the way looks at you and claps as the rose dagger forms. The sqritch round the corner stops and a human peeks round the corner, raised eyebrows. The cleaner then hurriedly starts to mop again. Sqritching continues.

The door then booms open, as a large set dwarf bundles out the door "Aye Kazim, the Ship WILL BE READY" He shouts through the open doorway, slamming the door shut. He then begins to quick walk down the corridor towards the entrance.

SirP: "Hmm most likely the Civic building, Down this street, down that right street and then follow the market road to that huge statue, then your there, cant miss it, just watch out for those pickpockets in the market. And watch out for that statue, been people crowding around it for days.""And this one is for the road brother" Flip passes you a piece of wrapped cloth, with what appears to be a weight inside.

geniussavant: You hear incomprehensible voices, and then they lower. No sound comes from the door, but a cleaner is mopping the floor across the way.

SirP: Flip stops as soon as you say Al Kazim "Hmm" He looks upwards toward a large building opposite., then slides slightly closer. With a whisper; "Al Kazim you say, old time wizard, at least three, no four hundred years old. He believes in the Old Ways* and enforces them casually, due to his rank..." He pauses as three guards walk by, Flip raises a hand, they nod. "...You cant fight elder arcanists, they have too much power over the continent, and a master evocationist, Pah. Apart from being one of the lead evocationists from Hem-Ahrin, part of the war council for the Flame Sultan Himself**, and the fact that he looks like he does at four hundred, you could say that Al Kazim' isnt the usual mage, he is... Something else."

He then scribbles on a piece of paper and passes it to you;

I would say more brother, but the walls have eyes

Flip nods over to the top of the large building

geniussavant:
The two gnomes look at each other and then rise quickly. "Oh excuse me sir I had no ide--" "Zepher that can wait we must move you to--" "Manners, Excuse me sir would you follow us to th--" "Waiting room"

Looking at the gnomes, you recognise that they are twins, one male one female and they do look quite similiar, the only thing apart from hair length is that the male gnome, whose name hasnt been said, has a brooch above his left chest, dignifying his rank in the arcane order, widely known by many as a lowly wizard. The female Zepher has no such rank, instead with a tilted red flat cap on her head, with a solid silver badge fastened to the front.

"This way sir" As Zepher flicks her cap with two fingers

The large door opens, seemingly by itself, but as you walk inwards, two guards flank the doors, Elven guards, a rare sight indeed.
Zepher leads you down the main hall, a large open space, forty feet wide by fifty feet high. (Imagine a large circular church, with an extended rectangular section leading from the back of the structure) Large paintings picturing images from the humble beginnings of Scorn as a small village, all the way up to the day of peace nearly ten years prior. You are then shown to a bench near the back of the Civic building. A sign above the door states 'Conference Room'

"Please wait here, Al Kazim would like to meet all members of the expedition at once" Zepher says with a bow, as she moves closer "And he really hates repeating himself, and there are a few... Changes to be put to light as well"

As she walks away towards the entrance all goes quiet, except for the scritch of quill on partchment down the hall leaving the hall, quite empty.

There is a sound coming from behind the door.

genius:
The Guard nods, and then leads you down through the gate, and then turns left into a barracks.
Inside he leads you to a staircase leading downwards, which leads to a long narrow corridor, five by five feet tall, which goes on for a good ten minutes, before leading upwards to the surface; another barracks.

The guard opens the main door, and it opens up to a bustling street, a large crowd surrounds a large statue of four beings, a human, gnome, dwarf and a fallen elf. The crowd is mainly celebrating, it being the week that symbolises peace in the entire continent, and the tenth year at that, with lots of food and drink passing around, and bards around the edges playing songs.

A large building to the west, marked by six signs, signifies the civic building, and two similiar looking gnomes sit out front on a set of steps leading up to the building, wearing bright red robes and standing out on the stone steps.

"Flip" as he extends his hand out, catching it on the caltrop.

"Oww, Ha" As he starts to rub his palm with his other hand, a glint runs across his eyes, and his eyes divert to your symbol.

"Westpharl chapter..." He gives a knowing nod

"Your pretty far out Trinket, Westpharl is way east past Hem-Ahrin, Thats near Peak-fall territory, near those savage barbarians."

Having a little trouble following: I gave name and business, and then the scribe asked for it, but then he didn't?

Wouldnt you if you said the same line all day for two weeks :P

18
SirP: The gnome flips his coin far into the air, and catches it on its side with his index finger, then looks up directly at you.
"Ah my brother, greetings" as he reaches down to his belt buckle, bearing the symbol of Garl Glittergold, and then bows grandly.

Innabinder:The scribe looks over to the guard and beckons him over. "This Gentleman was asking for Al Kazim, would you kindly escort him" as he glances behind you, sighing "Looks like the eleven o'clock traffic is early"

The guard then turns to you. "If you would folow me sir"

Would your character be part of the Arcane Order, a sub guild, or an independant?
I'm part of the Paragnostic Assembly  :D
So I guess a sub guild?

Yeah about right : )

20
SirP: The guards at the gate sidestep, allowing you a view of the city itself, at first a pair of guard barracks either side of the inner gate, and then abbout eighty feet up, you see a plethora of architecture; human, gnomish and dwarvern buildings,  even a few elven buildings, all sitting side by side. As you move on, you also notice blending, where some newer buildings are taking on attributes of more than one style, with wooden elven buildings with gnomish domed roofs. You also notice rather quickly a temple to Garl, Nicely tucked away in the side of the Church of Ignan, one of the six overgods.
A gnome is standing out front flipping a coin in one hand.

Innabinder: The startled scribe, and the even more startled guards stare for a second, and then the scribe speaks. "Due to population control, May I ask your name and business in the city of scorn on this day?" As he begins ruffling notes, seeming to be looking for something.

genius: Thank you very much mister Gravewood, Im sure he wouldnt. I have been informed of your arrival, (As he pulls out a piece of parchment) and have been made aware of what to do in this event." The scribe nods to a guard, who then walks over. "If you would like to come with me sir, the civic building will take much quicker through the city guard routes, which are all underground", as the guard gestures a hand forward, you notice Trinket walking around a corner, roughly one hundred feet away.
