google :  "edible dice"
results include chocolate

whichever Drag Mag (idk) that has the Dragon Psychosis stuff ...
one of them turns the Sorc casting into Wiz and uses the dragon hide scales as the spellbook pages.

143
Complete Arcane has a small section near the back, about alternative spellbooks.  Tattoos as a for instance.

I started reading linearly, and was thinking hey these first two paragraphs of Wild Soul, sounds a lot like the 3.5e Wilder.  And then (linearly) I read Wild Surge ...  :P

3 detect magic is a bog standard.
3 WS too bad it's random, Barb doesn't have enough choices to complement and pair with any given result
14 WS most tables don't have a d7 sitting around, presumeably bonus actions are being used better than this everyround
... but 20 = ping it around to what you want and go to town.
14 could be boosted a lot.
10 yeah good to have , grumble damage is least useful blah blah c.o. from once-upon-a-time
6 --- it didn't take long for giantitp to get the heal hp # up above the damage # = insta recharge.  Using hp as a spell battery is interesting and potentially (but not mandatorily) better than the Spell Banks like animate dead, bad sorlock, and glyph cheese ... but it's so soo soooooo much easier.  Warlocks slinging lots of 5s isn't reported as borknyborkny, but recharge on 6s messes with their late game maths.  Lots to work on.  But ohh I wanna play one.

Astral
3 hey 'bout time they did a real Wis Monk.  Using Wis for grappling?  Maintain grapple and use 'arms' wis 10' for attacks?!  Extra damage as they've said they want is fine, so where're all the leftover Ki points gonna go ...
6 ... right here decent out-of-combat boost 10 minutes per hour for 1 ki
11 hmm some spellcasters might be interested in and try to use the 600' V range, not a lot of monk/caster multiclasses til now
17 more combat
definitely could streamline, and get more astral-y non combat goodies = "I didn't know monk could do that" is a good thing.

What'd I miss?
A mildly not entertaining spammer, alas no catgirls.

2 driving stories.

I'm driving.
I may as well have been thinking of bhu's catgirls.
2 trucks are doing a rolling roadblock.
Truck B has his cruise control set +0.1 mph on Truck A
but Truck A is newer and has aero-skirts, so he holds his speed
up hills better.  This goes on for 10 miles.
Honestly I don't care, but traffic piles up behind me.
Some of that traffic is stupid, intentionally and dangerously.
I pull my left side of the lane sight blocking maneuver, with
slight speed variations, to get idiot off of texting on my bumper.
Truck B finally clears Truck A, but doesn't signal or pull in.
I clear Truck A a little tight for normal highway speeds.
I signal, punch it to get the cvt hybrid hampster wheel up
and finish the lane change, turning off the signal ...
While Truck B proceeds to signal and come over right on top of me.
< mirrors? I didn't know this truck had mirrors? >
I go in to Race mode.  I stab the brake hard with a slight hold
to scrub enough speed off to lose about 10' relative.
Truck A pulls his Jake Brake.  Idiot on my bumper nails his anti-locks.

I'm alive.  I check mirrors.
I signal back into the other lane, notice Truck A is off the jake,
and idiot is no longer texting.  Gather.
I move right within the lane, to right on the dashed white line.
With the new windshield wipers it's the hole just to the left of center.
Truck A notices the precision and decides to watch.
I buzz Truck B it's entire length with my right hand mirror within his operating space.
Eyes pinned to his left front wheel in case of attempted retaliation.
When I v e r y s l  o w l y clear Truck B, I signal into the lane and get off the highway.
The trucks continued to behave like they should have been, and the traffic jam cleared.

I'm driving.
Widow has a convertible that she fowls the plugs in, from lack of high temp driving.
Her mechanic told her someone needs to heat the car up.  She picks me.
Good pick.
I drive out to the boonies with the top down, and return.
No drama.

In the corner of my eye where my glasses don't cover, I see movement.
I nail the anti-locks, smoking and multi chirps of the tires.
An enormous male black bear is loping at full speed, angled to the road.
It has a pick of 3 spaces in a hedge on the other side.
First pick he nails the front of the car, the car getting the worst of it.
Second pick he nails the windshield.
Third pick he goes right through the middle of the open convertible with me right there.
Luckily I had supernailed the brakes, and Luckily he sails by right in front of me.
I may have snagged some fur.
I didn't come to a complete stop to keep some speed just in case.

I start laughing.
I almost died by a bear.
That would have been awesome (except for the dead part).
I'm glad the bear is OK.

The widow is none the wiser.

Course I have no idea yet, but it looks like the same type of #s targets they used
in PF1's CMD.  And/or that weird 4e problem of a climb wall dc 15 this level
but somehow more difficult next level.  I doubt they intended that.
But honestly I have no real idea yet.

Here's the Archery Handbook :
http://bg-archive.minmaxforum.com/index.php?topic=642.0
... I do believe there's a Ranger 2 / Fighter 4 start to a build on the 3rd page of it.
Carnivore has a couple of builds in there, and in the wayback.

Here's the KSB Snow Owl's Archer Build handbook :
http://bg-archive.minmaxforum.com/index.php?topic=194
... while you don't have those PrCs, they could give you ideas, and certainly the feats are good.

Any of the feats in the feat stacks on those guides, work just fine for archery.
Stay away from Mounted Archery, mounts suck, and then suck and die, without going Leadership, which you've said is banned.

I decided to do a clueless walk-through of the Fighter.
Fighters aren't my thing but it's a straightforward starting point.
I say Strength and key on damage (ho hum).
I start reading.

I don't see total damage climbing much past 25hp per round (right away).
Lots of small status effects.  Lots of defenses boosting.
Anybody who's played a 1e UA Fighter through 5e Fighter
will probably see a Fighter and think :  Fighter.

Revealng Stab [Two-Actions] Feat 6 ... caught my eye.
Easy rider on an attack, ~"Mass See Invisibility" and even Action Denial.
I like it.

Naughty Skyrock ...  :pout  ;) ... Google immediately offered to translate.

There are a couple of Archery handbooks available (on the handbooks board), that can give you lots of ideas.
Since you're doing ~15 levels of Casting, the Quickstart Cleric Archer is a very good foundation.
Doing that would get you Cleric 20 plus any 10 levels of what you have so far.
Did I mention it would get you Cleric 20?  And all the archery you wanna do?

Half-Dragon template is LA+3.
LA buy-off is in the SRD = easy access.
But simply put, 3 levels of LA are completely gone by level 30, as is LA+4.
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/races/reducingLevelAdjustments.htm#

A possible route for one of the other players would be the Dragon Ascendant PrC in Draconomicon.

Epic is largely bonkers, and it isn't that difficult to get things happening that your DM
in spite of his preparation (!) ... won't be able to handle on the spot without a plan.

It's like we need a new smiley face, of the 3 Greek Fates but with a brick falling on them all.

Dominate an Average Elf and/or Spectral Hand.
Charm works with line of sight.

... Some kind of assumption that may be wrong?

The board has you (currently) listed as Posts : 1
... which is usually technically bad english wrong.

Heck of an opening post, garnering a marvel/minmax No Prize, right off the bat.
 ;)

Somebody in the party has to have had Scribe Scroll before you get to level 12.
Hefty use of retraining spells, and/or somebody in the party having a Psion 7 cohort.

You're slightly behind on the usual suspects for powercasting.
You can always make up for that with Assume Supernatural versatility.
And then go Improved.  Polymorph Any Object is especially effective
if you've got a Wis Cha build = right up your alley.

Sorc spell picks of divinations and then otherwise top picks, should be
the starting point, but filtered for all that druid/bard goodies you've got.

D&D 5e / Re: Intrupting Spell Casting
« on: July 11, 2019, 05:02:07 PM »
Ready + Reaction + damage# = kills the conc side of the spell, I don't think it stops the spell altogether.
... a build that focuses on triggering exactly this, isn't necessarily bad at all the rest of combat = might be interesting.

Moving within 5' range (+probably Reaction +maybe a ready too) = forces disadvantage on most spell attack rolls, smaller subset than conc spells, but lots of cantrips.
... weird build, to just chase the spellcaster, while archer-ing the rest of the encounter dead, then  finish the spellcaster.  No one's done this, but it would work.  Could be a grappler that doesn't bother with the grappled.

giantitp had an extended thread quite recently, but I haven't read the whole thing yet. (and who has the time really?)
http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?583570-What-ways-are-there-to-disrupt-spellcasting-in-5e

 :)

edit --- Misterwhisper starts a list of spells that get by Mage Slayer (not vetted).

Min/Max 3.x / Re: Warhulking hurler build help
« on: July 01, 2019, 04:08:20 PM »
Let's thin the list a bit.

Ranger would have it's skills wiped out by WarHulk, so that's a waste.  Wildshaping into forms that can't use 13 levels of throwing is also wasted.
Tashalatora wouldn't get enough levels to make any difference, and the Psi based skills get wiped too = nope.
Gheden template while interesting in a white room idea, kills it's Dex skills, making this a No Skills build = in practice a really bad idea.

But that's still plenty of room for a bog standard frontliner build.
The Barb + Fighter + Warblade ideas still work, maybe even in combo.

Make Makes Right is the str sub for cha Leadership feat, but squeezes your available feat slot early.
Could be a level 9 tactic choice.  Retrain the level 6 feat to leadership, and have the cohort fill whatever gap in the party.

Speaking of, what does the rest of the party look like ?
