Good to see Travis and Sherman in the flesh last weekend.
With the new year, it might be a good time to reflect on where we are and what we want to do. Is this format working for us? Do we like the characters we have? Do we want to continue this game? Stick with 5e, or play something else? Is there something we've been itching to try out that we haven't gotten to?
I was introduced to a system called Savage Worlds at the convention. It uses rules created for the Deadlands RPG (which is one of the campaign worlds). The system is super simple, and it allows characters of all shapes and sizes. Like GURPS without all the math. The same ruleset is used for fantasy, sci-fi, superhero, and horror games. The campaign world I'm most excited about is the upcoming Rifts conversion. Anyone familiar with Rifts knows that it's a multi-genre world that includes dragons, wizards, psychics, cyborgs, aliens, and monsters. I'll be putting something together for a game at next year's convention, but if you're interested we can do something here as well; either in addition to or instead of what we're playing now.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts. I'm more than happy to press on with what we're currently doing if that's what we want; this isn't an attempt to sway you any which way. I noticed that we stalled out a bit toward the end of the year, and I'm checking to make sure we still want to continue.
