btw guys feel free to keep boon in check, he gets a little jumpy some times.... chaotic neutral ftw! :D))I thought about trying to intimidate them with Legion, but it seemed more with Legion's temperament and alignment to try to just smooth it over. Besides, I thought Boon would probably do it anyway. :P We can do the whole "good cop, bad cop" thing. Maybe I should have kept Diplomacy with Naberius... since we already have someone specialized in Intimidate....
I guess we should try to find out where the stone actually came from? Then go there? :plottingIt probably came from one of the locations at the map pins. Odds are, the other stones are at those other locations. Now... whether finding and assembling all of these stones is something we want to do is another question... Maybe we should find out what the hell they are first? :huh

Don't be silly, they couldn't possibly anything other than a plot point. Like awakening a long forgotten evil, that we will have to quest to destroy, as is in our destiny. Or something like that. I mean, why else would a holy man be looking for it, right? :DI guess we should try to find out where the stone actually came from? So you guys are just gonna get rooms at the inn, and pick up tomorrow with Kyle's suggestion?Yeah, I think doing a little research sounds good. We can also poke around town more, maybe with Legion disguising himself as the dead guy some more, to see if anything else falls out (maybe someone else who knows him will show up... hopefully not someone else he owes money too, though... :P ).
Anyone know what's up w/ CrazyBS? He hasn't posted here at all, did he make the transition to the new site?
Also, what about ImperatorK? No posts since the character sheet one...
Who has the stone right now? Is it still Boon? 'Cause that would be convenient...I think he still has it. We never said otherwise. Legion just touched it long enough to read it.
I was waiting for dna (Boon) to react to your reckless actions while I puzzle out how I'm going to react to your reckless actions.
I'm conflicted on how to act right now. I think I'll go with curiosity, following you back to wherever you're going, then asking for an explanation there. Think that'll work out?
Derp. :psyduck
Here is your answer:(click to show/hide)
Is thurston howell the dead guys name? Isnt that the rich old mans name from gilligans isle?DING! We have a winner! ;)
Thoughts? His character was an anthropomorphic ermine warblade from above the snow line. He's an excellent player.
So he is Bakuryu from bloody roar games?
i dont care, the more the merrier i suppose. im cracking up right now at the exchange going on between everyone :lol
Congratulations, brother, on your return! Also congrats on that meeting, I guess. :D
I have Identify as a spell in my spellbook. It takes a long time to cast, though. It uses a 100 gp pearl, also. I'll go ahead and say Legion IDs the item(s?) we found on the first day of our travels, then I think I'll leave him with no vestige bound for the second day.
Btw, happy new year to you too, guys!
The vials and the stick?Yeah. Did anyone check his stuff with Detect Magic? If so, anything that "pinged". :P
OK, cool.YAY! :P(click to show/hide)
Or maybe we're just banging two coconuts together. :lol
For his initial speaking role, I threw together some flowery sounding jibberish to represent the fact that Nora'Luuu does not speak Common. This will probably not be the case if there is a translator in the party.
Though, wild gestures and such can always be used :)
Then who's pulling the wagon?
I'm not dumb. I'm staying out here! And the weasel laughs maniacally as he pulls a hidden lever, causing the ceiling to cave in on the rest of the party. Game over. :D

I used the head of vecna in a game. I planted little clues for weeks, and I even made a ear of vecna haha. long story short, one greedy greedy PC paid one of the other players to cut his head off and put the vecna one on.
it was pretty funny :P

He wasn't thinking a head.
Darkvision so OP. :tongue
Definitely a "pop", but you can only use it when being chased around a mulberry bush by a monkey.
What are we waiting for here? Are you waiting for me to do something? I was waiting for actions from folks...
Remember that we shouldn't be able to see them unless you have some way of seeing in magical darkness.
How's about everyone make Listen checks to ID the squares they're in?
The wifi in the hospital coupled with my iPod's Appletastic battery have kept me from the boards more then I wanted. With luck I'll be home tomorrow though until then Nora is going to be quiet. Again I apologize
I'll need to know the results of the Listen check before I can act. And hope you get full internet back soon Sable! :)
Hey SDK, do you want to roll 20% miss chance?
True. If only there were a FAST way of HEALING non-lethal. Though, that's absurd, I mean... what would you even call that ability?
Rapid Retrodamage!I may have to build a class, just to make that a class feature.
zook, your last post in the other thread is confusing me; weren't you supposed to NOT have taken a hit, so you're not unconscious, being at 2 or 4 hp or something?
Are you guys, searching, or just moving? Just trying to get a sense of timing.I thought we stuck around searching while Garryl healed us, then moved.
Don't worry, you guys aren't dealing with traps in this thing. That's for later :D
And as it turns out, at the moment the question is irrelevant, as what I remembered as being a secret door is (upon checking the actual map) not secret.
My first reaction is to go bear hug the mushroom (WITH FIRE) till it stops shrieking, but I'm not sure if that's what Legion's reaction would be...
This whole thing reminds me of an old "Deep thoughts with Jack Handy" skit from SNL. It went something like this:
"If trees screamed, would we still be so eager to chop them down?
Maybe... if they screamed all the time."
... With a breath weapon.
Should I be tracking my arrow supplies? Does it even matter?
CrazyBS is a IRL friend of mine. Currently he is swamped with work situations, he probably will not have the time to play. :(
How far away is the nearest one? Range increments and all that. :P
We lost both spellcasters...
A pity Kara is too flat-chested (Charisma 10) to learn sorcerer casting or even spell-like abilities. Though a (weaker) version of Beguiler casting would be interesting...
Legion's still flat-footed, isn't he? :rolleyes So no AoO...
Flay, SDK, Sable?
Flay, Kara takes out the 2nd centipede so I'm going to let you ready your action for the next one if you want.
Garryl, would you like to confirm the crit on the first attack? It'll go against centipede 2.
Flay, Kara takes out the 2nd centipede so I'm going to let you ready your action for the next one if you want. You know me oh so well! I plan on smacking the next one that gets too close to the group at large.
"Well... it's a good thing we didn't bore our way into a liquid lake... or you might have all drowned." Legion says, then continues "Isn't it strange for it to be cold enough to have this much frozen water in a cave? I thought they were normally moderately warm."
So... where are you guys going?
You enter through a plot hole and come up in another campaign. The environment seems to be fantasy-future, and people's names appear above their heads. You hear something about a war among stars, and how old the republic is. Roads continue to the west, north and east. The plothole is to the south.So... where are you guys going?
..North?

Damn... well, unless the board loves me, initiative just soaked up 2 nat 20s. Lucky for you ;)Yeah... saw that...
Still no init from Flay, so Isaac is currently stunned by this bizarre turn of events, I guess...
I've seen worse... back when I was in college. :P Our apartment was like something right out of Naked Lunch.Still no init from Flay, so Isaac is currently stunned by this bizarre turn of events, I guess...
You guess? Okay then pal, if you saw a four foot tall mushroom, you'd be amazed. If the other four foot tall mushroom started SCREAMING, you'd be astonished. If the original four foot tall mushroom started moving, you'd either go into shock, or collect the Nobel prize for discovering the missing link between fungi and mammalian dominance. :)
So yeah, Stunned is good...
Sorrel sends a crossbow bolt into the other fungus, and it drops.
+500 xp for the 'Shroom Gang. Wheeeeeeeee...
((Sable do you mind if we reset you at 1150 to make everyone on the same footing?))

I didn't even know I could shoot crossbow bolts with bows. (I didn't know I had any bolts on me at all.) :p

YAY! :loveQuote+500 xp for the 'Shroom Gang. Wheeeeeeeee...

Yes, yes it does. :D
Sorrel had identified these things earlier as Violet Fungi.
Sorrel had identified these things earlier as Violet Fungi.
Yes, but I don't think he told Nora'Luuu that. Come to think of it, what if Nora'Luuu is mildly colorblind, and can't see the color Violet? Then it'd be a sensitive topic for him, huh. Never thought of that, did you? What if he's really insecure because he can't tell Violet Fungi from Grey Fungi, and one of them is really delicious and the other isn't? Now what, Mister Condescending GM?
Totally kidding, though I don't think his identification of the fungus was ever vocalized. That, and Nora'Luuu doesn't know that Violet Fungi are filled with a deadly neurotoxin. :)
Well, I did roll an 8.
Well, I did roll an 8.
Yeah, but you just leveled up! Certainly there's more pluses in there, right?? ;)
I'd forgotten you rolled an 8, though. OK. Then maybe Nora eats the fungi... he'll be fine, though... eventually!
Hey, sirp, look at your profile before you make another post! 37 recognition, 3377 posts. Cool!
OK, how about this:OK. Speaking of binding checks... I've been forgetting to make those, I think... :-\ Not that it usually matters, but...
Accept Sign (Su): You can accept the sign of a vestige while binding it; if you do so, you cannot suppress that sign while the vestige is bound, but you gain a +4 bonus on the binding check.
Go for it.

Nora'Luuu determines that he's done eating things that don't have faces.I just watched Happy Feet Two... this reminds me of one of the lines: "I'm moving up the food chain, Bill! I'm going to eat something with a face!", from Brad Pitt's krill character. :lmao
Not perfectly. You left the second 'o' in "look" on the first tablet.
Anyways, decoding the new tablet during lunch.
Edit: Spoiler alert. No peeking until someone casts Comprehend Languages.(click to show/hide)
That's less "wild shape" and more "tame shape".
"I'm a 'tame shape' druid... I can turn into any creature that can wear a wool sweater and moccasins and read the Sunday paper with reading glasses while drinking Earl Grey."
But you guys have no tier 1 classes anymore, which is unusual for my games. :)
I wouldn't be surprised if we go back there later when we're better able to deal with the magic that's making the ice.
Speaking of which, didn't I make a Spellcraft check or something to figure out what was going on with that? Did anything come of that?
I wouldn't be surprised if we go back there later when we're better able to deal with the magic that's making the ice.I think the breath weapons' Snowy and I have did OK in dealing with the ice itself. This place is pretty out of the way, up above the snowline, etc. Who knows if we'll make it back up here?
Speaking of which, didn't I make a Spellcraft check or something to figure out what was going on with that? Did anything come of that?
I'm just afraid we're going to walk into the lair of an ancient white dragon or something. Or just have the thing freeze down around us. It just feels like shmuck bait to me at this stage, at least if we're going to walk in blindly.I think SirP would give us more of a warning before he TPK'd us. :p Maybe that's metagaming too much, but still...

Actually, it has to stay adjacent to the object's exterior. Still assuming that the whole ice cavern counts as a single block of ice, could it still pass along the ice's edge that borders with the cavern walls/floors?
(click to show/hide)
And isn't Blue Ice pretty expensive itself? We should get some of that stuff, too...
((Recovering rituals. Ritual casting has officially gone from "fun" to "awesome" in my books.))
Ignore the A&E if you only wanted the best modifier.
Edit: To confirm, is the ice itself blue ice, or is it just a coating of blue ice around the room's edges and regular ice in the otherwise open space?
Legion can do it via Green Lady. Both directly (with the Identify spell) and indirectly (with that granted vestige power that IDs things with a Spellcraft check). And I should be able to boost said Spellcraft check a bit with my rituals, too.
Anything down in the lake/leading to where it's fed by the river?
Lol is Snowy going to take Magic Insight as an invocation? You guys could use Identify right about now...
OK... but I still think my idea for creating a frozen prison was a good one. :D I'm definitely going to have to use that sometime.
It seems like it's always some kind of magical bars of force, with a dimensional lock, or a pocket dimension (iron flask), etc, holding back the BBEG/demon/elder evil/etc. But why not just freeze him? That seems a lot easier to pull off with lower level magic, and it's cooler... (Yeah, I went there.)
Agreed, let's check it out. Then blow it up. Or something.Thirded. Wish I had a spell for that...
Going out of town for the weekend. Might not be on much (or at all).
Kara blinks, a bit surprised. Then sees the new passage. "Jinkies."
Legion says "Zoinks!"
<Freddy> Okay gang, let's see who's under this tentacled mask...
<All> DOCTOR HERBERT WEST??
I would have covered the world with my twisted spawn, ravening hordes of horror to turn the brains of saints to dust, and stood astride mountaintops to trumpet my sovereignty -- if it weren't for those meddlin' kids.
OK... now someone MUST start a "Scooby Doo meets Cthulu"-themed game... Who's going to do that? :lol
I would have covered the world with my twisted spawn, ravening hordes of horror to turn the brains of saints to dust, and stood astride mountaintops to trumpet my sovereignty -- if it weren't for those meddlin' kids.
I'll wait for Sorrel to give it a try before changing out my vestige.
In case you were worried, this is the end of the dungeon. No more monsters to fight :)
Well, let's give you the previous sources as +2 circumstance modifiers each, giving you a +6. All this text is pretty simple, but the language itself is archaic, so base DC 25.
And I think since you only need to roll once that you can pop out the +11. I mean, you can do Divine Insight to help DS, which only affects one roll and is discharged when you use it. It's just that the roll takes 1 minute. :)
So... where to next? A town to do more research? Next one of those spots on the map?
Yes, it's magical -- self-resetting magical trap with a faint conjuration (healing) effectNow we need to figure out how to pry it off the wall and take it with us without destroying it. :P
We could turn the cave into our secret clubhouse, then pay gold to have all the bards in the world tell the tale that we've solved the riddle of the stone slabs, and whoever comes after us to silence the riddle, well, we'll be ready for them!
Fighting Lich Archmage Incantrixes is fun.
Since we've rested and Legion only had 2 lethal and 5 nonlethal damage, I think he should be fully healed now just from sleeping, right?
About how far away is the aforementioned creature?
Knowledge checks to ID (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=4362.20;msg=88967). For future, should I just roll once and list off the modifiers, or should I continue using the roller once for each different modifier the roll could have?

I think you could bind as a FRA 1/day, swapping out if you already have one bound. So what if I didn't already have one bound, and I bind as a FRA? Can I still swap to a different one 1xday, but take the normal time (1 minute, IIRC)? Or I'm stuck with the first one all day?

Boon looks utterly horrified at the creature munching on one of his equine friends, then goes back to being an NPC pack mule.
Just waiting on init for Legion. Shiki's been AWOL in a couple games... Shiks, if you're around, what's up?Sorry. I rolled but didn't copy a link into the game thread.
I need a bit of clarification here. Lemme grab a bit of.. Here we go.
Leading the Attack grants allies +4 to attack rolls against the target I just hit. Now, it lasts for a round. Is that "Until the end of the current round" or "Until my next action"?
Is that 16 including the +4 from Nora?
If our melee characters wind up not existing for this fight, do you mind if I switch to sharing Ritual Focus instead of Ritual Intuition so Kara can get the bonus on her thrown attacks?
No sign of Flay or Shiki, so we'll move on. Phae, what's the DC on the color spray?Should be 16 (10 +1st level +5cha mod).
Isaac will take a 5 ft step diagonally to the square above Legion. He will draw his greatsword, and then ready an action to attack and psionic weapon the thing if it comes into range.I'm pretty sure this thing has reach, Flay. So it's probably going to just smash you from where it stands, and not trigger your readied action. :P

Why don't we just wait and see how the ogre reacts to Legion's shiny death ray (now with 75% less death) first? This battle could easily be over before it begins.
(http://www.minmaxboards.com/Themes/Thing/images/dice_warn.gif) This dice roll has been tampered with!So much for that... lucky bastard.
Rolled 1d20+3 : 20 + 3, total 23
Think of it this way: that could have been a critical threat.:lol True. So maybe we were actually lucky. :D
OK... I'm going to start retooling Legion over to a Binder 1/Wyrm Warrior (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=6253.0) 1. Since he didn't really get any abilities of note from binder 2, it shouldn't cause any logical inconsistencies.
If anyone has any comments or suggestions for what ideals or maneuvers I should pick up, I'm all ears. :D

I said I'd take suggestions for ideals and maneuvers, not classes. :P I could see if any of the ideals grant healing abilities, but I think if we can manage to wrangle up a wand of Lesser Vigor, we'll probably be OK. Although, if you all want to convert to Undead or take Tomb-Tainted Soul, I could cure you all with a touch. :smirkOK... Take levels in Cleric, define the deity you worship as having your exact ideals. Essentially, worship yourself.
As you perform low level cure spells (Be it through a wand of vigor or actual access to cure spells) others will have faith in your chosen divinity. Eventually such faith will flourish into an actual Divine Rank (Which is the only thing I've never seen any homebrew actually grant, so this may be a first).
Be sure to remember us all when you're a god.
Radiant Dragon grants Healing Touch at 4. That's a little ways off, though... I'm sure one of the forthcoming Ideals will have Devoted Spirit. The ones I'm considering (and why) are listed in a spoiler in my character sheet, actually, along with a tentative list of maneuvers chosen and a stance. Recopied below for your convenience:
Seriously, since you're doing this I'm going to prioritize making Ideals. So pick a couple, and then if some new ones come up soon that are more delectable, then you can swap at that point as necessary.
Primary Ideals: Pyroclastic (Breath of Fire discipline), Shadow (Hide, Autohypnosis, awesome discipline), Tartarian? (discipline is based on Intimidate, and looks good)
Other Ideals to consider (and probably take later): Song (Perform, Disguise), Battle (Bardic Music), Styx also looks interesting, if I decide to go towards grappling
Howling is quite good also. Shatter and Gust of Wind as Ideal abilities, and very strong options based on Intimidate as maneuvers.
Stance: Pale Horseman's Reckless Harvest: deal Str mod in damage to all threatened enemies on each successful attack. -2 penalty to AC and attacks while using this stance.
Maneuvers: Devlish Catharsis (AE 1, boost): Single target makes Will save or frightened.
Smoking Burn (BoF 1, boost): After using breath weapon, cloud of smoke left behind for 1 round + 1/4 ranks in spellcraft.
Clawing Back Time (SN 1, strike): Gain 1d4+IL temporary hit points after successful strike
What's the timing of this creature's revival? How long after the first part of the fight concluded?About a minute. So Isaac gets the benefit of 10 rounds of Sorrel's particular brand of TLC.
I can either start shooting immediately or spend a round to get +2 attack and damage. Any suggestions?
It lasts for 3 rounds of actual use. I'd be using Quicken Ritual to cast Ritual Focus as a full-round action (instead of taking 1 minute), and then discharge it next turn before my attacks. Napkin math says the bonus breaks even after about 3 rounds of combat, so it's only a net gain if we go into round 4.Yeah, I was going to say you're probably better off just attacking.
By the way, phae, are you going to change any of your Ideals based on the new ones that have been posted? And, of course, more will be soon...Aww man... that means I actually have to make a decision. :P I don't really have time right now to look them all over carefully... Thursdays are one of my two busiest days of the week at work. I guess I'll go with what I have with the caveat that I might change up later, if that's OK.
Hey phae, is Legion closing? This dude has reach...Legion's breath weapon is only 10' long. So he should be able to take a 5' step to reach him, right? If not, yes.
He rolled away, but we'll go with yes.Hey phae, is Legion closing? This dude has reach...Legion's breath weapon is only 10' long. So he should be able to take a 5' step to reach him, right? If not, yes.
You know... I'd rather Legion take that AoO than one of my allies, especially Isaac. So yeah, he'd close either way.
Maybe he doesn't as a zombie... or whatever he is now. :scared I don't really have much of an option, anyway. I had my morning star and shield equipped, not longspear. You know... I'd rather Legion take that AoO than one of my allies, especially Isaac. So yeah, he'd close either way.
The enemy gets multiple AoOs per round. At least 2, maybe more. You're not stopping any attacks by opening yourself up.
Hey, Phaedrus, just to make sure you never ever finalize Legion's character sheet, have you seen the new Sovreign Archetype (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=6529.0;msg=98616) options you can apply to your ideals?Yeah, haven't had a chance to really look at them in depth, though.
Phae, isn't a large longspear 2d6 damage, not 1d10?Huh. I didn't actually look it up. I thought I'd memorized those progressions. :P
Hmm... 1d8+9 with Mirror Image vs 3d6+9... Is Mirror Image 6xday worth 6 more points of damage on average?
The ogre had a very dirty loincloth and a Large greatclub. So he soiled himself? That's just wonderful. :eh I can use the breastplate, if no one else wants/can use it.
Technically, a Medium Longsword is a 2H weapon for Nora'Luuu. To use a greatsword, he'd need to use both hands and his mouth as well. And he wouldn't swing it so much as throw it and follow behind.
Which would be hilarious. Not to mention Nora'luuu could use the medium breastplate as an armored tent :) So go for it!
Nora'Luuu may show interest in the mirror, because it's shiny and he's primitive. :)
I actually liked the 3.0 system better than 3.5 in this respect. Back then, a medium longsword was exactly the same thing mechanically as a small greatsword, and could be wielded as one with no penalty.Technically, a Medium Longsword is a 2H weapon for Nora'Luuu. A medium longsword is a one-handed weapon. As a small creature, Nora'luuu treats it as a two-handed weapon, and takes a -2 penalty on attack rolls when wielding it. See Inappropriately Sized Weapons (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/weapons.htm#weaponSize). As such, Nora'luuu should really be using a small greatsword instead of a medium longsword, which (in addition to not having a -2 penalty on attack rolls) would deal 1d10 damage instead of 1d8.

I think we were headed back to Silverhaven, to a library to do research.
We killed the baddie, and looted the bodies. What more else is there to do? :P I guess if someone is noble of heart and mind, they might bury the knight and/or find out who he is so we can notify his family, find out where he's from, or something like that. Legion is a bit... out of touch.... when it comes to nuances of good social etiquette, so I'll let someone else do that stuff. :DI think we were headed back to Silverhaven, to a library to do research.
Is anything more happening out on the road with the dead things?
Whats this about being short a player because Shiki isn't around?
Whats this about being short a player because Shiki isn't around?
Lol. I'm down to 5 players without her, and this campaign was intended for 6-8.
I'd also be interested in joining if there's room.
Do you want new arrivals to use the char gen rules in the info thread or modified ones?
Standard wealth by level?Yup.
How would you feel about a Jermlaine? Something that can be backgrounded in, or too out there for the small town setting? It's a little weird in the setting... but my policy is to make it work so you can play what you want. So see if you can come up with a cool background, and we'll tweak until it fits. :)
And for everyone else, I'm planning on being more on the ball about updating this game... it's fallen far behind as my homebrewing addiction has taken off. :(
I just realized we haven't deciphered the second stone in character yet. Remind me to do so once we move on.Lol! Thanks, G -- the feeling's mutual.
Diploartech, CNC, welcome to the club. Refreshments are in the fridge. Pull up a chair and make yourselves comfortable. And for everyone else, I'm planning on being more on the ball about updating this game... it's fallen far behind as my homebrewing addiction has taken off. :(
You don't hear me complaining (possibly because sound doesn't conduct across internet forums). I enjoy your homebrew too much.
By the way, weren't there some alternate char gen rules (I think I used them) for taking some specific array instead of rolling for stats? 18/16/16/14/12/10, I believe, although I don't remember the details and I don't see it in the chargen post.
Oh. I didn't see that either. Can I go with the array even though I've technically rolled stats already?
Oh. I didn't see that either. Can I go with the array even though I've technically rolled stats already?
Sure.
Hi guys, Thanks for inviting me to the party, I'm about half way done with my char gen, and just had a question or three for SirP at the moment:I think I was doing max, is that right?
Whats the rule for HP generation? Max, mean, minimum etc?
Any problems with a Human Factotatum (building to Chameleon) arcane skill monkey with a penchant for running Up the Walls? I'll probably take Battle Jump at level 6 to keep my damage on pace but I don't intend to play ubercharging games. No problem at all.
Skill Tricks ok?Of course to both.
Can I handle animal a dog?
Anybody know any repeatable way to get Spider Climb? (no dips)Hm. Lemme think about that.
I'm thinking of characteriz... I mean I think my character will have a background in being a do-it-all, make all the bigger kids mad and chase him sorta thing where he would always end up jumping on roofs or trees... So lots of running up things and jumping and "climbing"Lol.
Do I sound too much like Endarire yet?

8. Hire thirty illusionists to disguise themselves as you and masquerade as you all over town. Optional: Hire a bard to play Yakkety Sax while this occurs.

How does this accomplish the goal of "get spiderclimb"?
4. As 2, except with Masterwork Bees.
4. As 2, except with Masterwork Bees.
Do you really think I'd allow something this blatantly overpowered in this campaign?

...only with the appropriate backstory.
Ok i'm liking 3 and 5 from SS but that number 2 got me thinking, maybe I could glue a Drider to my feet?
So, Wand of Spiderclimb, UMD it, hmm can I make a spiked guantlet that looks like a spider with a wand chamber in one of the spikes so I can do some sort of silly sentai power-up and then scuttle up the wall? >.>
Ok so maybe just the wand....
When making a check involving a skill in which you have at least 1 rank, you can spend 1 inspiration point to gain a bonus on the check equal to your factotum level
Ok thats all taken care of, how does Sheant get introduced?...congrats!! lol.
Ok thats all taken care of, how does Sheant get introduced?
I think he's a Factotum...

We seem to be frozen mid dialogue. I asked Legion/Phaedrus how the group came to form and then the drunk guy showed up. We're kinda waiting on reactions to these things from the rest of the party.
i wasn't sure who you were talking to IC.
Nora'Luuu adds something of a menacing growl to Legion's menacing tone, but it's hard to take something so small and cute as menacing. (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=4362.msg125761#msg125761):lmao :clap
Maybe it had to do with the fact that what was a chicken leg to most was a turkey leg to him. Or maybe it was the hiccup that hit directly in the midst of the growl...
In either respect, Nora'Luuu quickly turns his attention back to the food before him, silently wishing to father that the last ten seconds could be wiped from the record.
[_spoiler]I may never roll dice here again.[_/spoiler]
Are you a master of disguise? Maybe Sheant secretly is the drunk!I had actually been wondering that... until dpt's post. :P
::runs in and stabs phae:::bigeyes
"You said it. Remind me when this kerfuffle is over with, I'll tell you all about it, all the way from book-stealing to prophecies and zombies."3 literary xp for using the word "kerfuffle" in a sentence.
First thing, I forgot to add my piddly +1 ability modifier to the roll but I think it will be ok.... maybe.Skill synergies only require 5 ranks. So you could have a synergy.
Secondly, whats preferred here rolling in thread if its something simple, making a url link every time to the dice roll thread? Just spoilering the number from the dice roll thread?
Thirdly I really need to take this hand written character sheet and stick it on mythweavers.....
Fourthly I seem to have gone off the deep end, I put down a +2 misc bonus to Bluff but I think i meant that to be a situational to disguise... now I'm all confused. Am I right in saying that there shouldn't be any skill synergies to add to Bluff at level 2?
I think we need to clone SirP so that he has more eyes and fingers to play D&D with.Just a copy of his mind stuck inside an AI should suffice... :smirk

"Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. At 2:15, it begins rolling up characters." I'm pretty sure that course of action leads inevitably to skynet and world domination.
On the other hand, I wouldn't mind so much having sirpercival as our robot overlord. Unless it means he's too busy ruling the world to homebrew or run games. Then we'd have to mount a rebellion.
How do you know you're not just an advanced robot who thinks he's the original and are actually (but not to your knowledge) breaking into Cyberdene to rescue your creator (who is of course held captive by Skynet, which you will likely cripple or destroy in the process), the revelation of which will blow your mind and make you question your very existence before ultimately concluding that you are more than just a machine, a distinct entity in and of yourself deserving of a life of your own, free from the whims of the one who thinks he is your better simply because he made you? Because that would be weird.
The big man nods while he looks at Kara, impressed. "Um, yes. Perhaps that would be for the best. I'll take care of this one..." He glares at Kheldar, then starts dragging him toward a back room.
phaedrus -- "the man", is that the bouncer? Or Kheldar? Or the Establishment?
You know... "THE MAN"... J/K. Yeah, the guy dragging our new friend off to certain death. :PThe big man nods while he looks at Kara, impressed. "Um, yes. Perhaps that would be for the best. I'll take care of this one..." He glares at Kheldar, then starts dragging him toward a back room.
Probably that man.
I'll let SirP resolve unless he needs an action from me first. If the SLA fails i'll probably go for a completely hopeless trip attempt.
Nothing like a good bar brawl. :DYes, though the bonus damage is lethal.
Edit: OK, so Legion lost his slam attack by becoming a dragonborn. So his unarmed strike is nonlethal.
He is bound to the Fang Dragon ideal, which increases his damage dice one step. So it should do d4 instead of d3. He can also use the "Blade" feature to expend a maneuver and add 1d6 damage to his attacks.
My question is: after these modifications, is his unarmed strike still nonlethal? I guess it is, but just checking.
Alvin is going to release the Weapon of Aether that's been hiding behind his back for the last minute or so and target it at "the man". Does he need to take a move action to do so?Yup.
So does he draw an AoO for making an unarmed attack or not, then? :PNothing like a good bar brawl. :DYes, though the bonus damage is lethal.

Yes he would. lol.
does Kheldar have his spiked gauntlet on?
Is one of the crossbows pointed specifically at Alvin, given that he's a little way away from the rest of the party, or are they both trained on the main group?
Ok Drunk and Disorderly time....
Want this scene to move along so I can stop being all Inception and not have to roleplay a character roleplaying a character...
P.S. To Sneaky, your avatar is Pinky Pie? The most overpowered pony in the show? Cause you know she has hammer space, super speed, damage reduction, and odds manipulation....
Well I didn't really see the Wedding in Canterlot set so I didn't know anything about this villain until I heard a dubstep mix using her quote about consuming love.
Who's turn to post is it?
(Attacking from higher ground )table). Distance not taken into account so apply any mod necessary, but as she was heading towards the door I assume she's within 30 ft of them)
So, I think the only person left to go is Legion, and then we should be okay.No. I haven't played a single video game in... years. I just thought it was an interesting name, since he used to be a "soldier" in a Legion, and he is also basically a composite being made up of the memories of a lot of other beings (ancient, dead beings).
Also, I have to ask, is Legion at all inspired by Legion? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CRPScZ-FOI) I am just now getting around to playing these games.
So... it's been a while and I don't think there is a map, so I'm not sure if I can do this without hitting allies or innocent bystanders, but I think I'd like to breathe fire on the two guys with crossbows. :D (I'm going to add the "Smoking Burn" boost to it, to give us a smoke screen). The main thing I want is the "wall of smoke" effect. So even if I have to move and reposition him, and only hit maybe one of the "bad guys", I'll do that if I can get the smoke screen to a better position.Damage & recharge?
1d8 damage, 1d4 recharge. But let's half that damage so I can apply Entangling Exhalation. :DSo... it's been a while and I don't think there is a map, so I'm not sure if I can do this without hitting allies or innocent bystanders, but I think I'd like to breathe fire on the two guys with crossbows. :D (I'm going to add the "Smoking Burn" boost to it, to give us a smoke screen). Signing in back from a hell of a long hiatus. At some point I lost interest but as so much was going on IRL at the time I unintentionally forgot to alert you guys (especially SirPercival) I'd be backing off D&D and these boards, and it took me longer than expected to be interested again. I want to say I'm quite sorry for going AWOL like that...YAY SHIKI IS BACK
On the same note, I'd be really happy to get to play as Snowy here again, although I might need a recap of some sorts.. :blush
Woah, that was fast. I don't know if I should read up from where I left before or if I should simply jump right back into the action like that. I dunno what's going on. :pLol. Do you remember what was happening when you left?
Actually, not really.. :-\It seems you left when the party was exploring the underground complex.
Other than having to kill the ogre twice, that about covers it... (it came back, like the dead guy Legion impersonated for a while, but immediately instead of a few days later).Actually, not really.. :-\It seems you left when the party was exploring the underground complex.
After doing that, they headed back to Silverhaven, encountering an ogre on the way. Then they started eating & planning in the Wolf's Head Tavern before some newcomers showed up. The first one (Alvin, played by CNC) is a friend of Sorrel's, and the second (Kheldar, played by dpt) was a "drunk" who said that you guys were being followed. A couple enemies showed up, and that's about it. Read the last couple pages of the IC thread and you should be ok.
Just popping in to say: Welcome back Shiki! We kinda figured IRL stuff had gotten to you, so no worries.
Please refresh:Both.
How many crossbowmen are still standing?
an opaque curtain of smoke that fills the same area as the breath weapon's area. It doesn't deal damage or hinders movement, but it fully blocks line of sight. This curtain lasts for 1 round, plus another round for every 4 ranks you have in spellcraft. You may choose to lower the maximum duration when you use this strike.
Do I have a clear shot at the crossbow thug Kara already injured?Sorry for delay; yes you do.
Le bump et la poke.I was just getting to this. :D
It has come to my attention that after analyzing the use of Power Surge + Metabreath on DFA a fair bit if I don't find something to spam in between rounds I can't breath (if I use the aforementioned feats) I shall feel bad about myself. How do I go about this conundrum?A soulmeld, perhaps? Dissolving Spittle?
I actually didn't know it existed. I'll give it a read.Or Wyrm Warrior, Dragonmage, or Scaleshaper. :D
Kara isn't particularly lawful, but the "bloody weapons + dead bodies + middle of town can't possibly be misinterpreted" line of thinking isn't for her.Note that at the moment, none of them are dead....
Oh god, more stuff to read... and everything looks interesting. I'll be back on this rebuilding subject in a couple days.I actually didn't know it existed. I'll give it a read.Or Wyrm Warrior, Dragonmage, or Scaleshaper. :D
Oops. I'll edit my post to something accurate.Kara isn't particularly lawful, but the "bloody weapons + dead bodies + middle of town can't possibly be misinterpreted" line of thinking isn't for her.Note that at the moment, none of them are dead....
"Oh, hey Shiki. It seems like we have the bad luck to attract the wrong sort of company." Kara says offhand. "Hmm...better get the Guard here so we can make a report. Don't need there to be any rumors that this was anything other than self-defense. I'm in no hurry to become a criminal just yet. I'll go find one - I run the fastest.":eh
With that she turns and dashes out. She looks around the street for some suitably authoritative person.

Should I roll Use Rope now or wait until they try to escape (unless they're trying now but that'd be impressive considering they're unconcious)?THEIR BODIES REJECT YOUR ROPE SKILah never mind, don't worry about it right now.
Beats me. Finals are finally over (my last one, ever, as I graduate this term and get my BEng), so I have the time to get back into recreational activities again. Now I'm trying figure out what I was planning to do before the end of term got in the way, but I think I'm mostly just waiting on you to confirm that the thugs are stable and bound, and on everyone else in the party to do whatever it is they do.Thugs are stable and bound.
Somebody with fewer scruples/ better luck/ a higher search modifier could try searching the thugs. Then we need to decide how we're handling the aftermath.
I think we had taken on the macguffin hunt like good little adventurers, and as good adventurers, I say no shortcuts (not on speedrun mode right now :P) and go along the lines even if they're not important.Just putting in my 2cp DM style, you guys need not follow the order of the lines if you want. Or even the quest at all, if you'd rather set other goals.
I dont remember details about what we did with the knight, though I assume we reported it to authorities.
Shouldn't Sorrel be the one to recognize the Athame? He's the Ritualist (of course if you wanted to toss in an aether gem or six for Alvin to recognize, that would be nice too.)... derp.
