Iskandar prepares by summoning his sand kukris, then dissolving into a pile of sand. The dust cloud floats up to the ceiling and attempts to blend in with the stone as best as possible, waiting patiently as Iskandar watches the room for threats, ready to drop on any would-be intruders.

Aeloru waits just before the Caster, watching the entrances and alert for anything approaching.

You probably didn’t expect to end up defending the fate of the multiverse in a room filled with pink frills, pink pillows, pink sheets and pink basically everywhere, but Tymyio’s royal room is your choice.

For many hours only Vist’s arcane chants can be heard as he starts slowly releasing the arcane energies contained inside the scroll you have acquired. Even those of you with less understanding of magic can feel the power pulsating from the writings, the power to create the seed of a new plane of existence.

Then you suddenly hear the sounds of combat in the other rooms and above you. There are loud booms and cracks, the sound of things burning and flesh being slashed, then all is quiet again.

We managed to repeal the first wave.-tells you Tymio’s telepathic voice.

After some more hours of eerie quiet, again there is again the sound of more combat accross the palace. This time it doesn’t die right away, and some starts coming closer to you.

Some enemies have broken through! You must deal with them yourselves!-Tymio warns you directly in your minds.

Indeed a large fiend turns around the corner towards the room, its red scaled body

“Asmodeus sends his regards, welps! You cannot hide from the Lord of the Nine Hell-”

Before the fiend can finish its sentence, a large serrated sword slices off its head and the devil disintegrates. Then the pit fiend holding the weapon steps into view. You can see it is one of the fiends that had been at Asmodeus side during your voyage to the 9th. It is now covered in  a variety of wounds, but still seems to have plenty of energy left, and its eyes are filled with what seems like lucid madness:

“The Skull of Setrous, I could only hear it once it wasn’t near me anymore, but now I understand! I understand everything! This power, it could be used for greater things! We-We can make everything right by working together! We’ll become the new, better gods, and we won’t make the same mistakes as the old gods! However we need the power of the Skull of Setrous to do that. I can show you how. So first stop that spell.”

Aeloru moves forth, sending out three amulets with lethal intent--to temporarily destroy the pit fiend before it could do anything. Best to conserve their resources for later foes if possible.

Aeloru manages to catch the Pit Fiend off-guard, but her amulets explode a bit prematurely when they're stopped by what appears to be an unholy aura! Still the blasts manage to leave fresh wounds in the Pit Fiend's flesh.

The construct flickers and reappears behind the fiend. It's weapon flashes as it swings it two-handed toward the back of the creature's head.

Iskandar slithers along the ceiling toward the fiend before dropping both to the ground and out of his sand form. Energy surges from him as his movements are enhanced, even bleeding through to his nearby allies.

As Dyson bashes the pit fiend with its morningstar, Iskandar notices an opening of which he immediately takes advantage.

His sand kukris flash in numerous slashes as Iskandar hopes to find what weak spots he can manage.

Iskandar and Dyson manage to land all direct hits, but the Pit Fiend's flesh is not only extremely tough but also regenerating and discharges back pulses of unholy energy through your weapons and back at your bodies! The inevitable's single focused blow seems to far better, managing to partially crack the infernal's head, while the desert warrior's kukris have trouble doing more than scratches. Still it's a lot of scratches, that sear the Pit Fiend's wounds and release sparks of electricity that drain the devil's mobility.

“Burning! I had forgot what it felt like”

The Pit Fiend is left extremely wounded and moving much slower than before.

“N-No. W-We c-could've made a better multiverse.”

With a too-human scream, the Pit Fiend disintegrates into ashes, until only the blade is left behind.

Sounds of battle still echo accross the palace, but seem to be slowly dying down and none are getting closer to you for now.

After mentally girding himself (regaining both psionic foci and recovering his maneuvers), Dyson picks up the sword.

It is a high quality sword, finely balanced and polished enough that Dyson can see his reflection on the blade.

The inevitable says "Who are you and why were you imprisoned?"

There is a being imprisoned within the sword that offers to fight in exchange for freedom.

The inevitable says "Who are you and why were you imprisoned?"

Now a voice comes out from the sword that everybody can hear:

"Angel Lucius of the 381th celestial host… Or at least I was until I made the mistake of following Asmodeus when he descended to hell. How foolish of me. When I realized my mistake it was too late to turn back, the heavens would not take me back anymore. Suspected I was a spy, a sleeper agent. Still I would not serve Asmodeus, so I escaped to the material but his minions tracked me down then sealed me in this weapon for his dishonor guard to use my power. Pain and torture every time I resisted. I deserve it in a way for having believed in Asmodeus sweet lies, for abandoning my previous duties. But I believe I have suffered almost enough. One more battle. One more fight and I’ll earn my freedom.”

Iskandar's blades meld back into his arms, and he narrows his gaze at the apparently talking sword. He then addresses his allies.

"It is a difficult proposition to consider. How can we trust anyone or anything, given the situation we are caught in?"
