Sara: Um, not as safe, I don't think.  The faceless people don't like the light, but that's all I know.
Sara: It feels really nice, though, doesn't it?  The light?
Sara: It feels like this is a safe place.  Um, that might just be me, though...

Louise moves to examine the filigree darkness more closely.  What is this...  does it feel nice?

The pillar itself doesn't feel particularly special.  In fact, it doesn't really feel like anything.  Other than the fact that it's something solid and in the way, it might as well be air.

The light itself does feel quite nice.  Warm and strangely comforting.  If you reach your fingers through the filigree, you can just barely touch the light itself.  It feels almost fluid, but when you pull your hand back, there's no lingering moisture.  You can't reach in far enough to feel anymore.

I pat Sara on the head. "No, I feel it, too."
“Hast thou not felt in forest gloom, as gloaming falls on dark-some dells, when comes a whisper, hum and hiss; savage growling sounds a-near, dazzling flashes around thee flicker, whirring waxes and fills thine ears: has thou not felt then grisly horrors that grip thee and hold thee?”

Sara melts a bit under your hand.   That... was just a figure of speech, though, right?  Right.

I ruffle her hair gently. "So, do you remember anything about yourself? Anything at all?"

Sara: Nnn... um, no...  I just woke up here.  I don't really know anything...
Sara: I guess I can speak and walk and... you know, do things...
Sara: So I guess I learned them somewhere?  But... I can't remember it at all...

Louise pulls back her fingers.  She looks at them contemplating.  All they are in is just a void of nothingness.  Nobody knows where they are.

What is this place?  Why are we here?  What are these faceless creatures?

Okay Louise, My girl, think.

I woke up here sore and with a throbbing head.  That is true.

I met this Becca character, and shortly after this young girl.

We are at this pillar of light.  This light feels good...  It must be a bad thing.  perhaps trying to keep us complacent here?  I don't know.

It's me and two other girls here with a bunch of faceless zombies.  Either we're dead or we've walked into some terrible dellusion.  Either way, we need to find a way out, hopefully for all of us.  Maybe I can see further if I...

Louise attempts to climb the pillar.

While climbing, it feels like her hands are actually 21 clubs, though she's not sure how one would feel like that.

Sara: Ah, be careful!

Despite Sara's worry, you make it to the top easily.  You even manage to avoid any scratches from the filigree.  You cannot, however, see anything new.  The endless darkness that stretches out in every direction is just as endless and stretches out just as far.  This appears to be true for the "up" direction as well.

"Anything up there?" I call up to Loise. I keep my eyes on her. If she falls or has any difficulty, I'll be up that thing lickety-split.

"I'm okay, don't worry."

Being up there makes her feel accomplished, she decides to maintain her heightened position while she says "There's seriously nothing but darkness out here.  How are we supposed to get out of here?"

Sara: Um.. get out...  It feels like I'm forgetting something important...
Sara: What was it...  Fragments?  Something like... oh!
Sara: Um, Loise, can you come down here?  I think I, well, it's not quite remembering, but...
Sara: I think there is something I can do!

Louise considers jumping for speed, but the height makes her reconsider.  She needs to be at full health if there is something about to happen.

She plants her feet on the ground after her descent and leans her back against the pillar.  Even if it is probably evil, it still feels nice.

"What did you recall?"

Sara: Its, um, kind of weird...  So, um... there are these... things?
Sara: Um, called Fragments...  They're, like, I don't really know...
Sara: But people have them, and they're important...  And you can...
Sara: Use them, I think?  To do things.  I don't really get it.
Sara: Or know why I just remembered it all of a sudden... sorry...

Sara: I mean, to do the... um, thing... I'd have to check anyways...

Sara: Um, yeah, the, uh, thing.  It's, um, I can't really explain it.
Sara: I, um, don't really understand it either...  But, um, its something I can do...
Sara: I'll, sort of, um, I think, pull it out?  Your Fragment, that is?  From you?
Sara: It shouldn't hurt or anything... but... I don't really know...
