Phaedrus, do you mind if I run Skulda on "autopilot" in my next post, when Bram poses a question or two?  Just to get the question and answering done quickly.

That's one of the advantages of PbP... The DM actually gets enough time to make awesome answers to a player's Divination and such. And this group here possess some of the best players to play with...

Really, thank you guys.  :clap :clap

I feel the same. My consideration for a game goes way up whenever I see one ( or more) of your names as applicants.
Hmm.

Einar stays quiet, unsure of how to respond to all of this.
Einar just wants to slay trolls...  :smirk

I'll move us through to the morning when I get a chance, but I've got a busy day ahead of me, so it might not happen until tomorrow.

Let's say I am a slave work with the Hathran... How bad would be if I sent a message to them with our current situation with the trolls? Could I direct it to the one who "hired" me back then?

Edit: Tentative Letter (just so I don't forget it).

I will be very busy today, and then of course its the weekend. So I'm not sure when I'll get around to posting, or updating my prepared spells and bound vestige.

I don't think that would be bad at all.  Animal messenger is solely based on the caster's knowledge; since Bram has never been to Rashemen, he's planning to just instruct the bird to fly east, then turn north up the coast until he sees a village.  There, he'll allow anyone to approach him and retrieve the letter.

So, other than needing to somehow address it to the Hathran in general (so the first literate person to find it will forward it on), the letter you propose looks good.

Phaedrus, don't worry about it.  You're going to fight trolls; what extra info you might glean from any descriptions in the next few days isn't likely to alter your preps very much.  Just get to it when you can.

Did we ever finish ID'ing everything? I know I planned to bind the Green Lady to ID some stuff at some point. I think I was supposed to do that now..

Edit: On second thought, maybe I should bind something more useful, like Malphus for his bird.

I guess so too... ksb could make you do that for us now, before we go troll hunting.

Also, ksb... Is there any Hathran NPC you could share the name with me  so I can put her name as reference on the message? I will post the message with another name just in case you tell me to think on something...

Pretty sure phaedrus ID'd everything during the night at Northri's hall.  Then you expelled the vestige and bound the one allowing you to make the divinations.

Hathran name.... mid-level... Here are two, pick whichever you wish:
Groa of Immilmar or Astrid of Levanger.
Levanger is a small coastal village.  Immilmar is a "Large Town" (cities as large as the stats for Immilmar in UE just don't exist in this region of the world).

Awesome. We should divide that loot up, then (and properly label it in SKD's inventory :D ).

I guess she'll bind Malphus for the day, then, to scout with the bird. I'm somewhat tempted to rebind Astaroth, though... since he gives me the ability to cast Fireball 3x/day (on top of her gloves 3x/day conversion ability), and also makes half her fire damage from all sources Vile, which will allow her to even damage the tannaruk with it, should we encounter some more... Plus Divination at will... I'm sure that will come in handy. :P Einar and/or Bjart's familiar can scout for us, right? :D

Just checking... the vile damage thing from Astaroth...

Which does it do?
1) All the fire damage is fire damage, but half of it is considered vile (and thus won't heal normally)
or
2) Half the fire damage is instead vile damage (much like half of Flame Strike is "divine" damage), thus overcoming resistance/immunity, but not counting as fire damage (for things like regeneration, etc)

I don't have the sources handy to look it up.  I'm assuming it is #2, but need to make sure before it comes up  ;)

Also, how would vile damage interact with regeneration?  It is converted to nonlethal, but the regeneration can't heal the nonlethal? Or it's converted to nonlethal, then regeneration doesn't care, and removes it anyway?   :???  I'll google around later today and see if anyone has dealt with this before.

Oh man... I'm not sure. Vile damage is handled in the BoVD. I think it is its own damage type (like "divine"), and can only be healed under certain conditions (cure spells cast on Hallowed ground, or something like that). I don't have the BoVD handy to check right now either, though, and am not sure how it would work vs. regeneration either.

A quick google search turned this up.
