Title: Retired Games
Post by: Prime32 on April 03, 2012, 08:10:33 AM
If a game is dead, post it here (including a link to the board so it's faster to confirm). I'll move it to the Retired Games subsection.

In the case of a private game, it will remain private unless the GM requests otherwise.

And... retired (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?board=67).

Marauding Misfits (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?board=98.0) is "retired", in so far as the DM hasn't been on in a long time, and it never really got started.

Any idea when Jewel of a Quest (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?board=97.0) was started? It still doesn't have any posts.
Wizard College (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?board=96.0) hasn't had anything since April.
Dungeoncrawling Misfits (http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?board=108.0) hasn't had anything since July.

Jewel of a Quest is probably a private game and thus we can't see threads.

I thought private games hid the entire board, not individual threads?

You could be right.  I have no actual idea how they work, it was just a guess.

Garryl would be correct, there is no function for private threads on Min/Max. However, I've asked sirpercival directly, it's not retired.

No Man is an Island actually has private threads which contain everything (it did get off the ground). However, since SirP was running it, I think it's safe to say it's retired. I wouldn't mind if it were made public now, though, so everyone could see our characters and the game threads.

I really would love to revive Frozen Night at some point... but I am so, so crushed for time right now,and will be for the foreseeable future, that I can barely manage to keep the other PbP I'm DMing limping along at a glacial speed. So I guess we can put this one on ice for now, and maybe one day when the days are brighter we can thaw it out. :D

Unless they've got private thread activity I can't see, the following games look to be dead:

[GURPS 4.0] The Empty Skies (No activity for 2 months)

[Rogue Trader] Faith & Fortune (The DM had to drop the game May 15th)

[Dresden Files] Kaffee und Kuchen (No activity since January)

[Legend] Osaka Street Stories (No activity since last year)

[D&D 3.5] Ravenloft - Stumbling through the Mist (DM dropped it in February saying he'd pick it up this summer but he hasn't been on in a month)

I'd like to resurrect it too, but several of the players are gone ( :( ) and it was kinda dead even before I left.

On the bright side, Souls might come back, depending on relative interest; it's an easier premise for me to work with, and had only just started, which makes retconning new characters in easier.

You can move Go Go Power Rangers to retired too. I doubt I restart that up, the play was designed to be fairly strategic which the players apparently didn't want. But it's Gantz-like play did hit the actual tabletop for a couple hours cultivating into a hilarious TPK and repeated viewing of the Abridged series.  :D

It might be time to start moving some of the games that haven't had any posts for over a year or so into the retired category. Just going down the list and looking at the "last post in forum" date, that appears to be:
- [Microscope/D&D 3.5] Adventure Workshop
- [D&D 5e] Adventures in Crystalshore
- [D&D 3.5] The Amazing World of Instant Happiness
- [GURPS] Black Crusade - Feeding the Ever Hungry Gods
- [D&D 3.5] Dark Sun: Death is Forthcoming
- [D&D 3.5] Everything Trying to Kill You
- [Private] Evil is Our Game
- [Yume Asobi] Fragments of You
- [d20M] Go Go Power Rangers!
- [D&D 3.5] Incredible Items
- [PF] Libertad's Playtest Playground
- [PTU] Moémon
- [D&D 3.5] Monster Masters
- [PTT] Pokémon Lithium
- [D&D 3.5] Ravenloft - Stumbling through the Mist
- [D&D 3.5] RD Super Robot Wars OG
- [D&D 2e] Shadows in the Sky
- [D&D 3.5] Soujin - The Era Reborn
- [Meikyu Kingdom] The Tower
- [D&D 3.5] Eberron - Whispers of Vampire's Blade

We have archived all games that did not have a post as of June 11th 2016, one year before the day the boards went down. Going forward, any games that do not have a post in one year will be archived.

As before, this simply moves them to a quieter part of the forums and does not delete or prevent access to any content. And you can always ask here if the game becomes active again.
