Ok guys same as chapter 1's thread. When we start a initiative we will move here. Except now we will be rolling in the dice thread and quoting them here.

Seeing the dead bodies, on top of the image of seeing them hauling slaves around, Zero sets his jaw and swoops in.

viciously, he swoops down, slashing at the slaver's throats, grabbing at sheathed weapons, cutting ropes.

whatever weapons are now on the ground, he will swoop around and knock them under the wagon and horses' hooves.

((only letting you get away with 1 attack for the surprise round, which I will colorize that text here.. please roll initiative :D ))

This dice roll has been tampered with!
Guards Initiative 1d20+1 : 3 + 1, total 4

The little bird dives with fury and unforgiving resolve at the guards near the wagons. He flys downward and rips at the unsuspecting mans face. He screams in agony as the little knife slices deep.
The guards nearby him shout in fear and confusion. Some of the onlooking guardsmen are laughing, others are drawing weapons. The vicious little bird even manages to unstrap the mans belt from around his waist

((sorry about that... I figured I'd roll a bunch of stuff, instead of having to post several times if another roll was needed

as for the "rolled" it looks like those are for multiple rolls. I rolled 2x for the Perceptions, 4x for Sleights, etc.

the Sleights are a free action, so I could use it on multiple baddies, while zipping post em))

((no map yet. will make one if needed.
just an fyi- all of my actions will be made on the same initiative count. I never roll seperately for all the enemys.
other players can roll and be placed in combat once they approach the scene.))

initiative count
Zook - 14
DM - 4

(( your up zook ))

The man screams in pain and holds his face with both hands. His blood is spilling rather fast for such a small wound. The two slaver guards nearest to him both reach for weapons. One a throwing dagger, the other a bow.
There are several more of them in the area, although most that have noticed so far only seem to find humor in the sight of there friends pain.

((using your just previously rolled spot check of 31))
To your left you notice the large double doors to the tunnel leading under the arena are still open. It seems that the workers have finished ushering everything into the under area and are preparing to swing the doors closed.
Several important looking fellows that are overseeing everything there have also taken note of you. Most of them are smiling with curiosity but you do see one of them looks more than interested in you.

((all of the slavers have weapons, the guy you just attacked is clutching his face. the two dudes directly next to him have drawn weapons, one a bow, one a dagger.
as far as the using "the Sleights are a free action, so I could use it on multiple baddies, while zipping post em"
i could see getting one.. or possibly two if they are lined up well enough. but its not going to happen for a huge ammount of people without provoking some AoO's i would think. since technically you would be flying into and out of multiple peoples threat ranges. even if they are only carrying a sword ya know what i mean?
so thats why i've only really been counting it on the person your attacking, and maybe someone else if they are really close to him.

if im wrong on the AoO's and sleights im open to some documentation explaining it.

your action))

((I don't see anything in the SRD about Sleight provoking an AoO. I auto-succeed on Tumble checks for the first baddie. Free actions also rarely provoke AoOs (see Free Actions in SRD)

also, they only get a spot to see me take, they'd prob have to ready an action to actually grab back the item))

I'll swoop away from the slashed face guy and dive towards the guy with the bow. He grabs at the guy's quiver. Then looks for the guy that has any set of keys that look like they might go to shackles.

((withdraw + auto tumble at bow guy

((They also don't get attacks of opportunity until after they've acted for the first time this combat, since they're flat footed.  As I understand it, Zero got a surprise round wherein he attacked the first guy, and now it's immediately his turn again since he won initiative, so all the guards should still be flat footed.))

((that's right
replace the withdraw, now just movement away))

he continues to fly past several guards grabbing at sheathed secondary weapons and carried ropes. He slashes at the throwing knife guys. Then circles over to hover inches above the wagon.

(( Ok.. carrying over from the Main Story thread.
Zulketev, Mercutio, Riek, Alphonse, Kwah-Yah are now entering into the combat zone started by Zero.

I will give you all a couple of actions before a initiative roll is needed.

So if I'm following your actions here correctly... Zulketev swapped Riek and Mercutio around twice so that Riek could get the hat? Correct?

Ok without a map up yet (id rather not make one, this should be "quick") I will say that your all within 80-100ft of the Arena Scene in general. Somewhere within the crowd or what ever you want.

Ok that being said. There is two guards shooting/throwing at Zero right now. He is over on top of one of the wagons.
You all have one rounds worth of stuff to prepare, then one round of surprise actions if you'd like. But keep in mind Zook and I need to do some actions before you all technically would have gotten in range. The arena and slavers were on the other side of the market. He got there so fast due to flying..

So what are you all doing?

Also please roll Initiative.
initiative count
Zook - 14
DM - 4

Your in-initiative action Zook. if you delay too much longer I will have the slavers go and say your just flying around or something. But its unrealistic that the rest of the group could get up to you and help you so fast. So you and I need to take a few turns worth of actions before I bring them in.   ))

Mercution looks around to make sure no one nearby saw him apply his new "disguise" (cast Alter Self). Once satisfied, he gets ready to throw an illusion to cover the tracks of his friends. He grins ear to ear anticipating the reactions he expects from it.

As soon as Kwah-Yah snatches Zero, Riek starts shooting as fast as he can. He doesn't actually aim at anyone specific, he just wants to drag their attention.

As his tentacled friend grabs the feisty bird, Mercutio delivers his spell. Ominously, a silent mist begins to rise from the ground and fill a large area around them.

((OOC: Silent Image to reproduce visually the mists for which Ravenloft is so infamous. :D The area is nine 10'x10' cubes.))

Initiative
Mercutio - 19
Alphonse - 17
Riek - 14
Zero - 14
Zulketev - 5
DM - 4
Kwah-Yah - 1 (didn't roll)

(click to show/hide)

The Bowman and Dagger throwing Slavers continue to launch attacks at Zero as Zulketev finishes swapping his companions around, and everyone moved into place. Kwah-Yah and Riek both jumped up onto the slaver wagon that the tiny Sparrow was fluttering about on.
Kwah-Yah snatched Zero out of the air with one of his tentacles. Suddenly mist begins to fills the air, spewing forth from the wagon they are standing on. Kwah-Yah jumps back off of the wagon into the crowded market, leaving Riek still standing there.
Some of the nearby crowd screams and withdraws, most of the slavers stop laughing and are starting to draw weapons.

((top of initiative, go phae
at this point Riek is on top of the wagon, zulk and mercutio and alphonse can be any distance you wish from the scene.. kwah-yah just jumped off the back side towards the market, not the arena.
:D ))

Mercutio takes cover behind the edge of a nearby building and continues to concentrate on his illusion. Sepulchral figures begin to coalesce from the mists near the slavers and move slowly towards them.
