It's a fragment. It really isn't important or interesting. Lets say it's a hammer. I'm not entirely sure what a hammer is going in a power room, but whatever, it's a hammer.

As for the switch, it reminds you of the switch you saw earlier. Maybe it does something with the lights?

"things might get a lot worse in here once we're in the dark. we should head towards the light as fast as possible once this switch is switched. are you two ready?" She addresses Holy and Becca.

I nod. "We should close our eyes before you flip the switch, then open them after you do. If it kills the lights, it'll keep us from being as light-blind."

Louise turns on the flash light, if it has not already been turned on, and assuming it comes on, flips the switch.

The hallway is also still lit. From what you can tell, it's lit at least as far as the brig.

As you walk back through the brig and the column-room, you notice that nothing really seems to have changed. The lit rooms are still lit, and the unlit hallways are still dark. By the time you make it back to the gate, where the other switch was, you're really starting to wonder just what that switch there did.

Of course, when you do make it to the gate, you notice. That other hall, the one that was once dark, is now no longer. It looks like you've uncovered another path.
