"Mr. Henderson, sir, just... no. Please just... just stop. Stop with the gnomes thing. Look, let's just finish our drinks, then head downstairs as an unruly mob to bully this messenger girl into giving us the information we want. We'll figure out what to do afterward. Sound fair?"

"We don't have to gang up one one lone girl.  I'll just have Petey interrogate her.  He's good at it."

you come downstairs find a large group of different folks sitting around, drinking, eating, playing games. Some are just leaning against the wall in their seats. Along one wall is a piano that's being played softly, it's player is talking to a female elf with a smile on her face.

Downstairs amongst the small crowd of people there was a gathering around one particular table, where a pair of men lay with arms locked in combat.  Faces grimaced and veins pulsated, as the larger of the two, a dark skinned human with red thinning hair and a body built like a barrel, forced down his opponents arm into the table.

"3 to 0!  You owe me a drink!"  Another victory for Joseph "Taps" Gray.  Shaking his arm, he moved to stand up.  "That's enough for now.  I've got business to attend to." he spoke to the observers as he glanced at those descending the staircase.  That was right, he had business with the Guild.  Last night someone took a match to the Gilded Club and reduced the place to ash, and someone was to blame.  A pity, he liked that place too.  More to the point, it was an excellent opportunity to get in good with the Guild's good graces and earn a pretty platinum or two.  He had gotten correspondence from a man named Marcus, and that he should meet up with a group of initiates-to-be if he wanted in.  The perps arriving from the upper floor fit the description, and so he donned his hat and headed there way and get their attention.

"Hey.  You guys working for Revlin?  I've business with you.  Joe Gray.  They call me Taps.  I want to get in on the deal."

"You want in, eh? Well, if Marcus said you're good to go, then that's good enough. You know the details of the job?"

"I know what I'm doing.  Gilded's gone, and someone's to blame.  Find the perp and find out what's their game." he boasted, emphasizing by slapping his fist into his palm.  "I'm usually the one guarding places like that, but I should be able to figure out what happened as well.  Looks like you've already got a sizable number."  He glanced over the rest of the party.  Strange folk, he hoped they were useful.

"You leading this little expedition?  We starting now?"
Mudada.

The half-elf looks over the rest of the crew. A bunch of rampaging loons, all of them.

"Why, I do suppose I am. As for when we start, I say there's no time like the present. The sooner we finish, the sooner we start getting real jobs, and the sooner we get actually paid."

Gideon looks at Old Man Henderson quizzically, though it subsides quickly.

"...Which is why I mentioned that once we finish, we'll get membership, and get real jobs from the guild which will actually pay. Maybe you better let me do the talking and listening when we're out talking and listening to folks. Might be easier on the group at large."

The girl moves away from the piano and as she does, the player says to her"See you later,Mirella." Mirella responds with a wave of her hand as she heads toward the stairs that lead up.

Walking over to catch up to Mirella "Excuse my but your performance was amazing. I'm RM from the guild I would like to talk more in depth about your trade with you if you would."
