"Well for two things, I didn't start it,nor was I there. But two days before a messenger from swiftyfeet came in and dropped off a message. It was to the effect of either sell the place or something bad might happen, it was signed SNM."

Gideon follows up the staircase after the two, but stays on the stairs within earshot rather than being too obvious.

Stroking her chin, "Ees an mmm, Ees an mmm, Ees and mmm. S&M!" Striking her finger in the air, "We need to visit the brothels. It's perfect, an inn like this would would mean less people sleeping in their beds."

"Can you think of any particular place that has the fetishes I'm interested in?"

"You know I've always been of the opinion fire is the answer to all of life's problems.   Why don't we just burn down all the Guilds rivals down and let the afterlife sort them out."

*notices potential stares*

"What? I'm a priest of Death.  Everyone should've seen this coming."

Mirella looks Rarlet up and down and licks her lips again before speaking" You just pick a place, and I can meet you there. But before that, let me clarify the initials of whoever wrote the letter are S. N. M."

Taking Mirella's hand and kissing the back of it, "Maybe later m'lady. For now there's business to attend." She walks away looking for the owner (or if that's her then dramatic exit!)

When you come back up to the main floor, you see the owner; Serena Moonkbrook at the bar counter talking to a costumer

Walking up to the own she introduces her self "Ahh hello Serena. I'm RM and I work for the guild, we're investigating the fire last night for experience. Have you ever heard of someone that might go by the initials S. N. M. or of any nearby brothels?"

Taps settled in with the rest of the crew, silently eyeing them up quietly.  Odd crew.  One of them was good with tongue twisters.  He couldn't keep up with that, but noted not to make any bets with that one involving loquaciousness.

The first order of business seemed to involve something the group had already been in pursuit of.  The elven woman near the piano, a possible witness.  The talkative one took the lead and Taps normally would have followed, much like Gideon, but found himself distracted by some discussion downstairs involving a rematch and some subtle threats.  By the time he resolved it, the interview was over and Serena had returned with information.  "SNM", initials of some importants but they didn't ring a bell.  And brothels as well.  What, exactly, was that discussion about?

He elbowed Henderstone quietly in discouragement.  "Shouldn't make threats you can't cash.  They won't take you seriously unless you follow through, and who wants to handle dirty old pinecones anyway."  Apparently he took it seriously.  "Hey, Serena.  What did you find out?  Something about initials and a brothel?  What's the red lights got to do with this?"

Think.  And if he is informed that "SNM" was connected with a threat from outside he can narrow it down to more logical choices.  It may be the initials of a person, but also an organization.  Or simply the company which produced the paper....
Mudada.

Gideon wanders back during the conversation, having heard nothing of import from the interrogation of the girl.

"Tell me, Henderson, just how did you convince them to let you into the clergy?" A slight grin flashes across his face, though concern flickers behind his eyes. The old man is a loon, and could very well jeopardize the whole mission if no one keeps tabs on him. With all the talk of fires, it's a wonder he's not a prime suspect.
