Setting - The Old Capital

The Old Capital, officially Kyouto, is one of the older planes in the Skein.  It is unclear exactly when it came into existence, or who exactly created it.  But while its past is shrouded in some mystery or another, its present is fairly well known.  The Old Capital is one of the livelier planes in the Skein, and while it is not exactly prestigious, people come from all around to take part in its never ending matsuri.  As such, you can find just about anyone there, or just about anything.

The population of the Old capital is roughly half chroma and half whole.  Despite the differences between the two, everyone gets along fairly well.  Well, perhaps not fairly well.  The Old Capital isn't that safe a place.  But it isn't dangerous because of the mix of chroma and whole.  The two are managed fairly well by their representatives, the Magic Queen Crochet representing the whole and the Bathhouse Manager Baabaa representing the chroma.

Kagami Shrine
(click to show/hide)
Kyouto's Koto and the shrine maiden of the Kagami Shrine.  Despite her laziness, she is a very important person in the Old Capital, and is surprisingly well known.  She is said to be skilled in the arts of the Onmyouji, as any shrine maiden should be, though her laziness means that very few people have actually every seen her do any shiki-slinging.  Drinking, on the other hand, is something that many people have seen her do,  and apparently she is quite good at it.  Rumors exist that she once drunk an oni under a table, though most of those rumors come from the shrine maiden in question, and are as such unreliable.

The god enshrined within the Kagami Shrine, and the supposed creator of the Old Capital.  Little is known about this deity.

Ino-Shika-Cho
(click to show/hide)
The lead singer and guitarist for the punk band "Ino-Shika-Cho."  A chroma.  She was named Gumiho by her parents because they had high expectations for her.  She is known for her impressive singing voice and her stylish taste in clothing.  She is apparently skilled in close-range combat, though none who have fought her have lived to talk about it.  Or so rumors say...  She is the most cheerful member of Ino-Shika-Cho.

The base guitarist for the punk band "Ino-Shika-Cho."  A chroma.  She is known for her prowess with the guitar and her rather large collection of piercings.  She also apparently has some water magic skills or something.  But that is far less important to the gossip magazines than her piercings.  She has a fairly intense, punkish attitude towards most things.  Despite this, she is a rather nice person.

The drummer for the punk band "Ino-Shika-Cho."  It is believed she is a whole.  Little is known about this taciturn member of Ino-Shika-Cho.  Her interests, occupations, and past history are known only to her band-mates.

Lunar Goods
(click to show/hide)
A clerk at the shop "Lunar Goods."  She technically owns the store, but she is very cheerful, and a bit air headed, so she isn't taken very seriously.  She claims to be a whole, and she's from Welgaia, so that is probably true.  She is quite strong, though.

It isn't well known, but she is actually a very important person.  She is the eldest daughter of the Magatama family of Welgaia, and as such has had many assassination attempts on her life.  She generally stays out of Welgaian politics, so her opinions on certain key matters is unknown.

A clerk at the shop "Lunar Goods."  Most people think he is the owner, but that position is technically filled by Kagome.  He handles most of the business and finance, as well as the stocking, advertising, etc.  He is also a great chef, though he doesn't cook very often.  He is a whole, and has been around Kagome for quite a long time.

Important Figures
(click to show/hide)
The representative of the whole of the Old Capital.  A very beautiful, though quite dangerous, woman.  Her skills with magic are legendary, though she has yet to cast the ultimate spell and become a chroma.  She's almost there, though, having stopped her aging quite some time ago.  People aren't sure if she's waiting for a suitable replacement to appear or if she truly has no intention of throwing away that last bit of humanity.

The representative of the chroma of the Old Capital.  Though she has the form of an old woman, she is still rather spry.  She is more of a schemer than Crochet, preferring to work in the shadows.  That doesn't mean she can't move about her force in the light, though.

Head of the Kintoki Doujou.  Despite his manly image, he is actually quite stealthy.

(click to show/hide)
A mechanist known by Koto.  Her skill with Yoroi Armour is well known, but she doesn't get that much business, for some reason.

(click to show/hide)
A very mysterious figure indeed.  She is believed to be a chroma with powers over space.  She is followed everywhere by a talking cat.

Around Town
(click to show/hide)
A popular bar near the Kagami Shrine, run by a single family of bakeneko.  They are open at all hours, though on a reduced staff while the sun is out.  Koto goes there frequently, and you can always count on the waiters for the latest gossip.

(click to show/hide)
A chroma with powers of teleportation.  She appears to work as a courier of sorts, though not much is known about her in the Old Capital.  She has worked for the Witch of Black Cats before, and appears to live nearby her.
