A hint of anger and embarrassment crosses Kosj's face, thinking she introduced herself wrong, "Kosj Gix, not Gix Kosj." Her attitude quickly changed though as she realized she didn't understand one of the words he had said, "A sckald?"
"You think I'm talking about breaking the rules?"
"No I'm just trying to figure out how far you want them bent."

"I am a singer of songs and a teller of tales," Jack explains. "I'm sure you know the type; our titles vary from place to place, but our deeds are invariably the same."

He considers Kosj carefully for a moment. "You look like you've had some adventures yourself. Maybe I could hear your story sometime?"

"A bearer of knowledge," Concludes Kosj as she gives Jack of nod of respect. She pales a little at his next question though, and then stumbles thru a question of her own, "As a bearer of knowledge you must have been a leader among your people, yes?"

"A leader?" Jack looks momentarily puzzled. "Well, I wouldn't say that. We occupy a somewhat lower role here in the Lhazaar Principalities. The common folk see us as nothing more than entertainers, really, which has lead to me getting jack-all in the way of employment in the past year, but it seems that someone's finally recognized my potential today."

"People here care that little for the history of the land?" There is an edge of sadness in her voice as she asks that, but she straightens herself and says, without it, "I hope you are right."

"People care little of anything these days. Never take the time to appreciate anything. Not even the things many will never have.,"/color] responded Castor, even though the question wasn't directed at him.

"What has happened to have caused people to be this way?" Kosj asked the large human.

"Back on da Isle we have a rich tradition of song an' story.  In other places I been though, most of da people be too busy ta hear a good tale or too ignorant ta know da meanin' of it.  Speakin' of tales though, I'd like ta get on with the tale dis 'Vandaboren' have for us."

"Ya all can stay out here if ya want.  I be goin' inside cuz I don't tink we be gettin' a welcome," Zane said with a slight growling undertone as he walked up past the gates and up to the door and knocked.

Castor motions for Spike to keep close to his back as he follows the others in to the gate. Keeping to the shadows, he glides along after them.

The small warrior glares at the back of the shifter, clinching her jaw shut. Her fuming ends with Jack's gesture, which she has to think about before remembering where she had seen it. Mimicking the remembered movements, Kosj locked arms with her recent acquaintance, and then she started forward without a word to him.

Jack nearly stumbles as he is forcefully lead away by the smaller woman.

Spike follows Castor, though he obviously does not even attempt to keep to the shadows.  He continues to watch their companions in a somewhat unnerving fashion.

As you approach the building you are greeted by an aging halfling woman
"Ah, good to see that some people can keep time these days. I am Kora Whistlegap and I welcome you to Vanderboren Manor. The Lady will meet you shortly if you would like to wait in the atrium." She guides you into a wide brightly lit room with a few plush looking chairs in one corner. "The lady will see you the moment she has finished conducting her prior business, please have a seat"

Stellan strides purposefully into the room, giving the halfling a courteous nod.  He examines the walls for artwork.

There are a few pieces of art on the walls, mostly portraits of previous generations of the family complete with brass plaques and inscriptions.
