I actually only check every few days.  Sometimes as infrequently as once a week.  Disadvantages: I don't find things out the instant they happen.  Advantages: I generally get a decent amount of reading in a session, rather than just a single page.  A more continuous feel.

My friends all know about my reading habits, so they don't say anything about updates until I say "So, I read the update."  I don't browse Tumblr or any of the other sites, so my delayed reading doesn't actually have any repercussions--everything's still new when I get to it.

My other Homestuck idiosyncrasy lies in that I don't actually enjoy speculating about what's going to happen--for me, the fun is in reading things as they occur, without trying to second-guess the author.  This, of course, has been known to drive one of my friends absolutely bonkers...as she enjoys speculating all the way to the hilt.  She'll go on about how X is totally Y and it will all make sense...and I nod and say "We'll see."  Sometimes she's right, sometimes she's not.

Vriska and Calliope are the best characters.  For entirely different reasons, but they're both totally the best.  Also, Vriska is the sexiest and Calliope is the most adorable.

And I have an immense love of characters who go off the deep end; grimdark!Rose made me make noises only dolphins can hear. And though I'm glad she got to god tier, I have to admit I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get more time with Rose Lalonde, avatar of the Horrorterrors.

Why can't you ship Calliope with anyone?

I can't ship her on the clause that "Oh, she'll overcome it and feel true love!" for the same reason that I can't ship characters spontaneously changing sexual orientations for no reason.

Aww, don't hate Tavros. He went through a lot up to that point. Personally, I'm glad that he and Vriska are starting to even out after that little escapade with the sprite. Vriska was being much nicer than she usually is to him and he was actually standing up for himself more than usual.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you both as far as favorite trolls go. Aradia is my favorite there. It's a shame that barring dreambubble shenanigans her arc is basically over. As for favorite kid, probably a tossup between John and Rose. I miss their snarky conversations.

For humans, I think it has to be the Striders.  Simply for the fluency of their banter.

And I like Calliope, though I love the scene with Dirk & uu and the "pornography".  That was just... amazing.

Ahhhhh. Gotcha. I don't have that particular er, problem? I ship everything. everything. I'm an inveterate multishipper who firmly believes in the power of threesomes to solve ship disputes, and does not subscribe to the 'everyone is straight until stated otherwise' mentality that pervades so much of so many fandoms. Thankfully, with trolls, that's not a problem. The quantity of my ships puts Nepeta's to shame, and I have no qualms about it. ....granted, some of them are crackshippy, but.

My big ships are Rose/Kanaya, and Vriska/John. I really think Vriska and John could've had something awesome, and I'm sad we'll probably never get to see that.

Oh my gog, yes. Dirk and uu were just. That was one of the best scenes in the whole series, full stop. I cannot even begin to describe how much I laughed.
