Well luckily Bluetspur is a Pocket Domain in 3.5 Ravenloft.

Every Domain in RL works like its own individual plane. So having magic/psionic means to cross boarders is very difficult if not impossible, depending on the situation. Bluetspur is even harder to get to because of this.
That being said... everything you mentioned is true. But the chances of the brain noticing you is very slim. Extremely slim.

It's actually not that different than a Dark Powers check, and the corruption path leading to Dark Lord.
Based on how evil your actions are there is a slim chance that the Dark Powers will notice you. If that happens there is a chance that you will be corrupted, there is 6 stages to this before the person would become a actual DarkLord. Each stage has some benefits, and some drawbacks as well.

Your character would probably have a hard time finding any knowledge of this stuff in-game. However since you have had access to a expansive Library in Richemulot, if you have the knowledge skills you could of looked some of this stuff up. Or had one of your friends stumble across it maybe?

Anyways the point I'm making is that just remaining in Ravenloft over time is dangerous. Pretty much no one is safe.. and of course the most powerful people are the easiest noticed. The impending feeling of doom in Ravenloft adds to motivation as a character.

Ravenloft is scary enough that Vecna wanted to leave.

Got a filler in the Character Sheets section.  Didn't have nearly as much time to get things finalized as I expected to this weekend, but such is life.

Went with a Chaotic Neutral alignment over Neutral Evil.  I felt like it would fit in better with the party and with the themes of the setting in general.

Based on the new setting information, how much of my backstory should I change to match the new timeline?  I can swap the locations around easily enough (Pont-a-Museau -> some other city), but the timeline might be an issue if it's super important that we've only been in Ravenloft for a few years.  Which it might be, considering the Curse.
I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.

Pont-a-Museau is fine to be at now, since you're all in Richemulot.

As for the curse of Darkon, which alters memorys to forget life before Ravenloft(they return when you leave darkon). I mentioned in another post somewhere that I will be giving the players all a small trinket from Azalin. This trinket will have the power to block the curse, along with something else... most likely similar to a ion stone.

As long as your timeline flows with what I presented it should be fine. You could of been in Ravenloft longer if you want.. but the important part is being in Darkon. Atleast for the part of the timeline I presented. So that way everyone will be on the same page.

Hey btw Phaedrus,
I can't recall if it is Ravenloft specific or not, but there is a variant for the bard where instead of giving allies a bonus you can scare the enemys. Have you seen that at all?

Yeah, it's called Inspire Awe. I considered it, but decided to go with Inspire Courage + Dragonfire Inspiration (for +4d6 fire damage to all of our attacks) instead, although it would be fun to use with Requiem to scare undead.  :D

edit: nevermind. it's not that bad. :P

I need to take a poll... If you had to choose between an Arcane, Psionic or Divine grappling gish Octopus Man, which would you choose? I am in a massive, MASSIVE conundrum here... Especially since i discovered that psionics is semi suicidal in Ravenloft :S

@Brujon: As Dna1 said above, you need only to keep away from Bluetspur. I'm going full psionic too.

There are other advantages for going Divine or Arcane... Babau Slime, Balor Nimbus, Fearsome Grapple, Evard's Menacing Tentacles... Fuse Arms as an option for THF and an alternative for high DR enemies, etc. Also, dna1 said he wasn't too comfortable with Psionics. Not sure now which route i'll take. Psionics truly is awesome, but eh. What are you going with?

I've always been partial to the Arcane my self...  But feel free to go with which ever you like.

Looking at the build I see where 3d6 of its coming from.. where is the 4th morale point coming from? 2 from racial substitutions right? 1 more from song of the heart? I must be overlooking it but I don't see the 4th point..
Oh wait, is it from the badge of valor?

That's right. 3x/day as an immediate (swift?) action, it boosts IC by 1 point.

1 from class levels, 1 from Song of the Heart, one from Badge of Valor (3/day, and one from the MW Horn.

Don't forget the Inspirational Boost spell.  A use-activated item that mimics it (like, say, a magic Natural Horn) would only cost 2kgp.

I'd left it out because I didn't have the actions to use it. If dna will allow my horn to be enchanted with it, I might pick one up....

Song of the White Raven to activate inspire courage as a swift action, and then an immediate action (using next round's swift) to activate the Badge of Valor to boost it by +1.

Going with a whip (well... whip-dagger) as my weapon just so I can use this pic. :P (OK, so that's not really the only reason.  :fu )

(click to show/hide)

Also, I'd like to have a pistol. I know the rules are in the DMG, but I don't own it... Are they all exotic weapons? I'm thinking in his background he'll have been a pirate at one point, but then "joined a cause", converted to worshipping Bahamut, became a dragonborn, etc.
