[Microscope/D&D 3.5] Adventure Workshop / [Reboot] The Big Picture

The current topic is "the big picture". We need to brainstorm and pick something big that will define our "world" within one or two short sentences, like the previous quotes.

Post away!

P.S. The most important rule is: don't share your ideas with other players! Let's take it step by step.

102
Alright, that's it then. I'll open the 'big picture' thread :D

103
Alright, got it :D

104
Hey midnight, I think that the ingredient you added directly opposites my first one, or do you think that magic could be used for outer space exploration?

105
Sorry, was a busy week at work.

I'll get my palette idea up tonight.  It's a doozey....
No problem, I think we're all jut excited to keep going~

Do we want to stay in the same order from the Palette for the rest of the game?

I guess we don't have to, but let's at least give a day to each person for their turn.

106
No:
Mechas, in the form of giant robots do not exist. Powered armors do exist, but the aesthetics of them resemble more iron man and less warhammer.

107
Come on ksbsnowowl! :D
He may not be aware that we started, I'm going to attempt to drop him a pm once I get back from work.

108
Alright, I created the first thread in our board. Hop in!

109
The Palette is a list of things the players agree to reserve the right to include or, conversely, outright ban. It gets everyone on the same page about what belongs in the history and what doesn’t.

Each player can add one thing, either a Yes or No. Add something to the Yes column if you think the other players would not expect it to be in the history, but you want to be able to include it. Add something to the No column if you think the other players would expect it to be in the history, but you don’t want it included.

I'll add a "no".

Yes:
- Outer space exploration exists (think of Spelljammer), but in a more 'steampunk' way. (Dictum Mortuum)
No:

110
I think we can continue on the one that's up already.

111
Don't worry, we haven't started yet :D
I guess we can start on Saturday, if everyone has read the book.

I can give a link to the pdf I've got to anyone that wants it. I need to re-read it, too, as I don't remember much about it besides the basics.

No, the microscope pdf isn't free, as far as I remember. If that's an ... issue with anyone, let me know.

This is an attempt to reboot the attempt that we've started a couple of years ago. The idea is to use the microscope rpg to create our own campaign world for d&d.

If everything goes well, we could go further and flesh out a whole campaign (using the game's rules) and transform it in a ready-to-play adventure for other people.

Anyone interested?

Would you rather reboot the whole thing?
I don't think the rest of the guys are interested.

Hmm. Sounds good with me. Glad I kept checking back. Its just these types of setbacks that make people hesitant to do pbp's on anything I think which is sad. Sure though, I'll try it again if you're down.

Alright, I'll create a thread looking for people tomorrow and see how it goes.

It's not yet finished, but you can check my notes on the support combat playstyle here: http://dictummortuum.droppages.com/fighter/support

You need to use a browser with which you are logged in in gmail in order to view the content. If you don't have an account, I'll try to generate a static page :)

Sounds romantic ... except for that giant Cloudkill (smog) a few days ago.

Haha, that was ok, because public transport was free :D
