The fifth one meanwhile, is a slightly pudgy man in a suit, slumped over in his seat in a slightly more posh office. There is blood and plaster shards all over his head. Judging by the chunks, a plaster bust fell off his shelf and coshed him good some time ago. He doesn't seem to be bleeding out, but a head injury can only be major if he's still out cold for so long.

"Naw, I run solo when my day job doesn't interfere. no use for stuff like that" Chalkboard meanwhile has been sketching an irregular grid across the roof, "Alright, now we just need to haul these to ground level as I split them off. Take that big chunk to the south side first."

Looking around the office, Kaleidoscope contacts Horizon again. "Fifth adult. There's a guy here with a bad head injury, out cold. Any medics out there?"

"Damn. Oh well." Horizon wrenches the first chunk up over his head as Chalkboard cuts it free and drops off the building with it in tow, setting it neatly by the cistern. "No luck on the walkie-talkie front. You'd have to take out your commlink, I suppose. I'll check with Chalkboard." As he comes back over the edge of the roof for more, he reports "There's someone inside unconscious with a serious head injury. Is there a medic nearby?"

"Shit. Show me which room it is, we'll cut him out first if we can do it without unbalancing the whole thing. Wonder Drug's exhausted, so it's just Painsplit and Idunn down there at the moment. "

Horizon points out the room with the injured man. "If you can cut it free, I can ferry it over to them quickly."

"Alright, take out that wall first to balance the load before I cut his room out." Chalkboard quickly cuts a wedge out of the opposite side of the building, then hurries over to work with Horizon in a somewhat complicated maneuver to apply four cutting lines, three of which are made while clinging to the side of the building, and bring it down to ground level.

With rescue work on the man in progress, Kaleidoscope finally moves on to check on the presumed children.

Once the counterweight is out and Chalkboard's cut the room free, Horizon deposits him back up on the roof and hauls the room out of the building, carrying it as carefully as he can down to the nearest medical Special.

Kaleidoscope's hunt takes her to a room with a rack of cages, mostly empty. Two monkeys, two dogs and two cats, generally making a lot of fuss. She has discovered the auxiliary food testers.

Horizon meanwhile lands the detached room as gently as he could manage, then catches the attention of the telekinetics that were hauling the wounded earlier, about to return to their efforts. One look at the wounded man and they go running straight for the medical tent. Looks like it'd be taken care of.

Kaleidoscope pauses a bit and reaches for her commlink. "...Critters," is all she says.

"Oh. Well, close enough. They don't seem to be moving around enough to rock the building, so I think we're good there," Horizon responds on his way up top once more. As he hauls the next roof segment free of Chalkboard's grid, he reports "Top floor's clear, everyone's either stable or evacuated."

"Yeah. I don't think any of these clock forty pounds, and they're locked in, so there's that." Kiley sighs. "The lady from before might need your help getting out, it looked like her legs were numb or something. I feel kind of bad, but..."

"Alright. Now I just need to make a circuit around the top floor. I think I've gotten the damned thing balanced. Think you can lift the whole rooftop? It's not a whole lot heavier than that stupid tank of water."

"If it's any consolation, she would have collapsed the place if you hadn't made her sit still." Horizon glances up and down the rooftop at Chalkboard's question. "I think so. It should be within my limits by a fair bit."

"Let's get going then, once we rip the roof off, we can call in the Blasters to reduce the top floor."

"Right. We'll need to evacuate first, but that shouldn't take too long." Horizon rolls his shoulders in preparation before helping support Chalkboard while the hero makes his cut.

Chalkboard sketches across the building, getting visibly tired from holding his arm and staff out to draw the arc around the building, then as soon as Horizon takes the load for lifting, there is a spray of rubble and debris in all directions as the entire roof, along with everything above head level, is lopped off  in a horizontal slice, to Kaleidoscope's surprise, producing a spray of plaster dust with small fragments of concrete and brick, "Sorry about that, the line wasn't very even."

"No worries. Just stand back so I don't clip you with this on the way down." Horizon leaps upward in a high arc, the roof held overhead so he has room to maneuver, and lands near the pile of concrete he's already hauled off. Once the roof section is out of the way, he hops back up and looks for the woman Kaleidoscope threatened earlier. "Miss? Hi, I'm Horizon. Let's get you out of here, okay?"

Oddly enough, Horizon can find no sign of the woman remaining. Just a curved hole in the floor where she was cowering, with no sign of her on the floor below.
