... presumably excluding the Orks? >_>;

Considering there's rules for Ork PCs in at least one of the sourcebooks, I'd say even Orks are fair game.

Edit:  Oh, and I'm looking hard at Explorator or Missionary, if anyone has any advice.

I know I asked for something like the Seneschal, but after skimming through the book I've got my attention grabbed torwards the Explorer and to the Void Master. Are they good career paths? Can anyone give me a short description on both? Harald? I need to know if I really got those careers' role in the party.
The Explorator is a member of the Adeptus Mechanicus,  a religious order dedicated to Technology allied to the Imperium of Men. His purpose is to uncover forgotten knowledge from the past, in the name of the Omnimessiah.
Concernig the class ? You are the specialist of technology, medical care, and many exoteric knowledges. Thanks to your implants, you can fly, or become a full fledge cyborg who no longer need to breath. The toughest guy in the team usually.

The Voidmaster is the Operator class. If you want to be an aeronautica pilot, a tank driver, or being the best voidship helmsman, or the master gunner, or the guy specialised with the auger arrays, that's the class for. You can do well in a fight on yourself, but with your trusty vehicule, you are deadlier.

As for the RT statu : inside the Imperium, you are supposed to abide the same set of rules as a planetary Governor, with the same leways. Outside the Imperium, your Warrant says you can do as you see fit.
"-Lady-Captain, we detect 20 hostile vessels against us,  and Erasmus Haarlock's Spear of Destiny ! What are your orders ?
-RAMMING SPEED !

final result : 6 slaughts vessels, 4 imperial frigates, 2 imperial cruisers destroyed. Haarlock sent into the warp. 0 losses. Flawless Victory.

Hmmm...Now I'm more inclined to Explorator. The cyborg option seems very interesting. If Linklord agrees, I'd like to play one. Linklord?

EDIT: Almost forgot. Thank you VERY much, Harald!  :love

@ Raineh Daze; Yeah, that's a fair point :P

Also, guys don't feek bound to actually have a Rogue Trader ( the clasd) in the group if nobody wants to play one. Given that the warrant is hereditary, it is possible for somebody who wasn't specifically prepared as family heir (aka has another class) to inherit a warrant.

Go for it :-)
I'm at that phase where pretty much everything looks cool, so I can definitely find something else.

You're welcome. If needed,  any class can go cyborg-like at rank 2 by becoming an Augmenticist ;).

I can do one, though It will depend on what the others want to do. I can also be the Warrant Holder, if no one else want to do it.
I'm tempted between doing a RT - through the class or a Seneschal - or a Navis Scion. I'll wait to see what the others are planning for.
Concerning the ship : what are everyone preference :
 - a small nimble ship that can be really well equiped already ;
- a bigger one that can grow with us with room to play with ?

For the small one, I suggest an Orion starclipper, or a Turbulent class frigate.
For bigger one, a Secutor light Cruiser, a Dictator class Cruiser, or, if we can manage it, an Overlord class battlecruiser  :love

Damn! The more I read, the more I change my mind. Now I'm more interested in a telekinesis psyker. Sorry for changing my mind again, but this time is final. In what book are the xeno options?

Into the Storm has general rules for Kroot and Orks.  The Weirdboy (Ork) career is in Navis Primer (along with a bunch of cool psyker powers).  Dark Eldar are found in The Soul Reaver (which is also an adventure module).  Haven't found rules for generic Eldar yet.

The Astropath Trancendant has Psy Rating 2 as a starting talent, but has Psy Rating 2 in Rank 1 Advances for 200xp. Does that mean I can start with Psy Rating 4 for only 200xp? And what if I want to have access to a second discipline? The Rank 1 Advances don't have the Talent for it.

From what I can tell, all the starting skills and talents are listed under the Advancement table, for all classes.  I think you just get the starting ones for free, and can't buy them again.  They just listed the XP costs on the table because... reasons.  Or something.

Because sometimes you can trade out your starting skills by taking packages and they don't want you to lose out on being able to have it altogether.

There are no rules for generic Eldar yet >:( There's also the Wych career and a couple alt ranks for Dark Eldar in The Dark Kin web enhancement.

As it's been said, duplicating the starting advancements was intentional in case they published something later that allows you to change starting talents. Astropaths sadly get their 2nd Discipline at rank 3; there is an alternate rank however (Transubstantial Initiate) from Into the Storm that grants you a 2nd Discipline at rank 1.
Also, if you're going for an Astropath, make sure to check the errata, it changed quite a few things in how Psy Powers work.

So, as I understood by reading the book, we have 500xp to spend in character creation. If I want to buy a talent with those points, how much would it be worth? Or is it not possible at character creation and I'm limited to raising his atributes?

EDIT: -Digging through Origin Paths.-

Okay, which book is the expanded one in? Or should I forget that? XD

Character creation by flowchart! @_@

EDIT 2: Well, I want to do a Rogue Trader Rogue Trader. Sorry, Harald. -_-'

More origin path options are in Into the Storm

You can get any talent from the Rank 1 list of your class, at the listed cost.

Non-Numerical Thingies! AKA: What I have planned.

Noble Born/Child of Dynasty (Cannot Decide x_x) -> In Service to the Throne (Born to Lead) -> New Horizons (Archeotechnologist) -> Dark Voyage -> Pride (Heirloom Time!)

... do I get to roll again if I land a duplicate heirloom in Archeotechnologist and Pride? :lmao
