Adaptation: Power of Cybernetics
« on: January 02, 2012, 02:00:28 PM »
Power of Cybernetics is a futuristic system modeled off of incarnum.  In Magipunk, PoC is being reflavored back to magic:

Most wielders of the arcane arts take magic and give it temporary shape, after which it dissipates rapidly. Spellmolders hold that magic in its form over longer periods of time by forming spellmolds (modules), into which they pump magic (energy) as needed, giving it a solid and lasting form for as long as it is needed. The flow of magic must be heavily restricted to prevent it from breaking free and releasing, but skilled spellmolders can channel more magical energy into a mold at once without letting it shatter (energy capacity). Practiced spellmolders learn to shape their spellmolds directly around their bodies (socket attachments), giving them greater control over the magical energies used.

There are three spellmolder classes: Cyberneticist, Dreadnought, and Energy Warrior.

If you'll notice, the original PoC is still in progross so sirpercival can't adapt it yet.   :p

If you want to make conversion notes for what's up in the previews, those should be stable, and I doubt I'd write any fluff for them anyways (I'm horrible at that kind of creative writing). The only changes I'm thinking of mechanically even are adding a few more Battle Talents for the Dreadnaught and tweaking the levels that some of the Cyberneticist abilities come in at. They're all playable with the old MaI modules anyways. The PrCs still mostly need to be rewritten and I'm dragging my feet on how to rewrite the modules and module lists for the final versions, though. But mechanically, it's playable.

The official versions of the three PoC base classes (along with 55 complete modules and 18 more WIP) are up. Here's the link to the index: http://www.minmaxboards.com/index.php?topic=8693.0. I'm particularly interested in the fluffy parts of whatever you come up with for the conversion, Sirp. What you have is always quite good, even when it's just a picture and a quote.

Since I seem to be the first to combine Magipunk and PoC stuff on a character,  I'll pop in here or in the PoC area every now and then and give some feedback on my experiences.
