[3.P] Super-heavy?
« on: November 15, 2015, 06:30:35 AM »
I need to make something rather small sized and normally quite light to become extremely heavy. I mean something like an article of clothing or a small/medium object. Are there any ways to do that? Preferably permanently, or at least for a very long time.
Magic is for weaklings.

Alucard: "*snif snif* Huh? Suddenly it reeks of hypocrisy in here. Oh, if it isn't the Catholic Church. And what's this? No little Timmy glued to your crotch. Progress!"

I'm pretty sure there is a cursed item ability in the dmg you could use.

Would polymorph-any-object'ing it into stone / lead work?

Which one would that be?

Would polymorph-any-object'ing it into stone / lead work?
No, for three reasons. First, the spell doesn't exist in our games. Second, I need the item to be just heavier. Third, stone or iron wouldn't be heavy enough.

http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/cursedItems.htm#stoneofWeightLoadstone is the closest thing on the SRD to making an item heavier and really all it does is lower the wielder's move speed and such.

However, there is the paragraph about opposite effect cursed items in DMG page 272, so if you have an item that lightens loads then you could switch it to instead be heavier.

As to whether such an item exists I'm not yet sure, but if you already know of one then this works.
