Kettlehead enthusastically takes control of the grapple and stabs at Chuffy with his dogslicer, scoring a hit!

The goblin in the back jumps up and down excitedly.  "You bigger and stronger Kettlehead!  Show that whelp you da boss!"

Poog throws a rock that misses the bad guys, but quietly ends the life of a nearby toad.

Reta, annoyed at her previous miss, swings her sword in a way that she thinks is very scary. Super scary in a way that even dice rollers believe is not appropriate for children. Angrily flailing at Kettlehead, she yells "Lick this!"
Hmm.

Kettlehead staggers and drops his dogslicer.  "Me give up, you too strong.  You keep toads."

Seeing their leader defeated, the two other goblins immediately surrender, beg for mercy, and heap praise upon the four of you (especially Reta) for being the biggest and strongest goblins.

Mogmurch shakes his head at the incompetence of goblins, and marches off. He thinks he knows where he's going, but no one else is quite sure.

Reta changes her mind. They are not completely dumb. They know she is the strongest! With toad in hand, she follows Mogmurch who clearly knows where he is going.
Hmm.

Happy that you didn't try to take their stuff, Kettlehead and his two minions quickly run off

You four continue on your way to the Cave of Darkfear to present your toads to the dread spirit who lurks within, as commanded by whelp-wrangler Loptop so that you can stop being whelps and be real goblins.  She also told you not to die, that was very important.

In the shade of the grey cypress trunks, a sagging human-made cave squats on the muddy ground, overgrown with swamp brambles and leaning precariously to one side.

You enter the dark interior of the cave and see that it contains leaning and partially collapsed shelves, heaps of shattered pottery, a junk-strewn table, and rusting animal traps.

A partially mummified but mostly skeletal corpse slumps against one wall with a broken-off cobweb-strewn horsechopper jutting from its chest.

This must be the Spirit of Darkfear.  Time to present your toads and sing your personal song to let it know who you are and that you deserve to be a Licktoad.  Failure means never being able to join the tribe.

Having dusted himself up, Chuffy runs (with his toad) to catch up, breathlessly singing his song. " STICK STICK STICK!"

After staring at the Spirit for what felt like days, Reta remembers! She leader. Leader go first.

She flails the toad around as she sings:
"Reta chop and Reta bite!
Reta slay and Reta fight!
Reta stab and Reta...smite?
Reta kills it all just right!"
Hmm.

Mogmurch starts vigorously licking the frog as he dances around the statue, singing like a bloody idiot

Things go boom when Mogmurch throws,
Much more fun than using bows.
Sometimes where the boom boom blows
Is not my fault—that’s how it goes

after a slightly confused moment, Chuffy regains his composure.

Chuffy’s face might make you sick,
But Chuffy’s knife is awful quick.
And if you are his stabby pick—
The knife goes in you, STICK STICK STICK!

A pair of grabby-cats (raccoons) run out of an overgrown corner and out of the ruin in response to all of your singing and dancing.  You did it, you are now Licktoads (once you go back home).

Your bold quest complete, you decide to do just that!  However, the swamp is no longer as empty as it was when you were just in it. A colorfully painted wagon sits half-sunken in a patch of foul-smelling mud.  Abominable words decorate the side of the wagon along with paintings of potions and magic trinkets.  Bottles, barrels, pots, and all manner of real potions and curios poke out from beneath the bulging canvas that covers the top of the wagon.

"Wagonz of potionz! We'ez gonna be rich!"

Mogmurch squints very hard at the wagon of treasures and does the thing that he isn't as scared of as other goblins (because it gives him recipes!). He reads.

The words on the wagon say "Magical Maggie's Mobile Market".

As Mogmurch spends his time deciphering these horrible written words, you all hear someone say "C'mon you stubborn old mule!  We're gonna be so late!"

The speaker is on the other side of the wagon.

/us has no sense of scale/spacing...

Chuffy quickly looks to see if there is room under the cart for him to sneak, and goes for it.
