SorO being banned means one of the few campaigns I'd been playing in here has lost a DM. Shame, too, I was having fun with that one.

China already announced they're planning a moon base.

And meanwhile Trump keeping the USA's government shut down until they give him billions of bucks to build a giant wall with Mexico and the EU is busy with the bit where the UK is gonna crash out with no business deals whatsoever in a couple months.

So who's left to race to space with exactly? Brasil? You know what, I'll take a Brasil vs China space race.
I'd take that action. Maybe I can become the first Brazillian to punch the moon.

Ah, China. The 21st Century's answer to the age-old question "Who's going to have a pissing contest with the US next?"...  :P

"Huh. I guess at least their ramblings are making a little sense..."

Hugo curses inwardly as the Disk Launcher is wrangled from Murakumo's hands. He really ought to consider supergluing the damn thing with nanites or something.

But as usual, that just meant he needed to come up with a plan.

Breaking a Telekinesis disk on himself, he circled around to hide for a moment. He needed to think.

Wait, wasn't the Disk Launcher meant to be an in-built weapon? I thought those couldn't be disarmed? I could be wrong, though.

Based on her history, with Hugo and otherwise, I expect a mix of confusion (on several levels), combined with perhaps her first taste of positive interaction since her time with Chaz (which could produce longing, which might lead to sadness, but might also clash with her confusion so she can't figure out if she wants Hugo to keep hugging her or not) and might (MIGHT) lead to her mistaking all that for genuine attraction to Hugo. It COULD lead to her acting on it, or not, and feeling awkward about it either way.

What might surprise you either way is what response Hugo elects upon seeing how it all affects her, no matter how it turns out.

See, there's a reason Hugo's alignment isn't evil!  :p

After everyone's had a chance to beat on the fleet, Murakumo simply tosses a handful of discs towards them, which erupt into Solid Fog. Predictably.

I meant as far as the talk with Murasaki goes!  :lmao

C'mon Osle, I know you're not THAT surprised that Hugo can be a decent human being every once in a while.

Wait, you guys are actually waiting on me?! My bad.

(Also, my initiative is dead last, I wanted to see what you guys would do first.)

Yep, pretty much the same deal with weapons.

They are only good if you use them on people those other people say are bad.
I'd say there's a reason we're so hung up on state-sanctioned murder if that's anything to go by.

Don't mind me, I'll just try to keep these guys in one place so you can blast away at 'em.

Here's to hoping they don't have freedom of movement for like the bazillionth time.  :p

...also, is it weird that we seem to be recurring on a pattern of making friends out of enemies we don't kill/watch self-destruct?

You know, it's weird I have to say this, but I've never been more glad to agree with you on something.

Would you mind if I copied this text and showed it to a few friends of mine?

Kuromaiken: For convenience’s sake, I’ll be advancing the main plot for the party but Hugo is free to conduct his private meeting with Murasaki in spoilers at the same time in the IC and assume it’s already happened in the past/flashbacks.
Sure thing. That's how I figured it'd go anyways.

And I, thankfully, get to just let the banter with Murasaki drop because she got all awkwardly melodramatic as if trying to earn some sympathy points -_-'

But it's a place to pick up from next time we have a post-mission meeting 3 years from now  :lmao

See, I KNEW there was a reason for me to keep her around.  :p

"I am the 'old' Hugo, not that you'd believe me right now."

For the moment, he let his allies take the fight and awaited to best analyze how to take them out.

(After all, I have the lowest initiative last I checked).

Arodatam! Any tactical advice? Weaknesses to exploit? You've got the most experience fighting these things!"

Let's see how long I should wait to screw them all.
