Update on my vehicle/home trouble. I had to drop $400 for the registration this month, and the check engine light is still on due to a glow plug needing to be replaced. The CHEAPEST estimate I've found for the labor is $350+tax, and that's with me already having the replacement part and no guarantee of that actually being the final price. Any mechanic in this area who will work on an older diesel vehicle wants you to sign a paper that says you are paying for a repair ATTEMPT.

Glow plug replacement is a process notorious for "whoops I fucked it up and now need thousands in repairs" types of problems, so most mechanics won't touch it.

As a reminder for perspective: I live on $900/month in one of the most expensive locations in the country.

SorO being banned means one of the few campaigns I'd been playing in here has lost a DM. Shame, too, I was having fun with that one.

To quote Agita "You can tell SorO that if he doesn't consider literally every interaction with me other than the one time I fished some deleted posts out of google cache in the entire last several years sufficient warning that's part of the reason he's out."

SorO may be a dick, but he's our dick.  And you shouldn't cut your dick off.
I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.

And that's kind of one of those lines you never expect to read.

Though in a way, I suppose I can back this up. I mean, I used to be a huge dick in these forums myself. SorO is pretty tactless, but I don't think he's actively malicious.

Thing is, you greatly improved. Soro didn't. He actually kept getting worst. And consider yourself lucky you didn't end in his direct line of fire, because he did actively start to get extremely malicious.

As the mods pointed out, it wasn't a sudden thing, it was the piling up of years of ignoring multiple warning from the people he directly attacked.

And if his ban is revoked, he'll only become worst. He'll consider that there was absolutely nothing with his behavior after all and only keep escalating it even faster.

What's done is done, ayup.

And to continue the dick analogy...  There is such a thing as penile cancer and sometimes it does require surgery to remove.  And there can be an associated phantom "limb" sort of thing after that, but better that than the cancer.

Fair.  Still, it feels somehow wrong. Like we're betraying our principles.

I know it can be hard to let go of old things but sometimes you need to do just that, let it go.

Oh good. I was afraid someone would start singing "Frozen" songs and I'd have to punch someone in the face.

To be fair, I tend to leave a bad initial impression in nearly every group I join. But deep down I'm a good guy.

I mean, IDK... He was actually pretty supportive of me during my bad times, one of the few that cared enough to send PM's and offer a helping hand. I don't think he's a bad person, not at all. Rash? Combative? Yes, but not a bad person. He's been a part of this community for so long i kinda don't see it being a good thing...
