Distilled Joy has a casting time of 1 day. Are there any ways to shorten the casting time? 3rd level sor/wiz spell if that matters.
My google-fu shows me that WOTC has gone back and forth about casting times from scrolls and other magic items. That sometimes shooting the wand requires only 1 round, and other things saying it takes as long as casting the spell would take. It seems they settled on the takes as long as casting the spell would take.
Spell-storing weapons can't hold spells with that long a casting time. Spell-storing rings take just as long as casting the spell.
But I was hoping the keen minds in this group might know a way that's not too cheesy.
Also, I assume "Casting Time: 1 day" means 24 hours. Is there someplace that says it really means 8 hours?

Get it as a Spell-Like Ability. Defaults as a Standard Action unless otherwise noted.
Magic Items do indeed take as long as the spell to cast, per Rules Compendium which is supposed to trump everything else.

A 14th level caster could use extended Imbue Familiar with Spell Ability to punk off the day casting time onto the little bugger.

The Rod of Many Wands (Complete Mage) lets you zap as many as 3 wands as part of the same full round action.

The best I've found so far is the Rapid Spell feat (http://dnd.arkalseif.info/dndtools/feats/complete-divine--56/rapid-spell--2378/). It allows a spell measured in hours to be cast in 1 hour. Though DMs are going to differ on whether "1 day" qualifies to be cast in 1 hour.

Anima Mage from Tome of Magic can cast any spell at all as an immediate action 1/day.

So it can. Thanks.
